Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a Hostel Support Assistant to join our team to support homeless clients who are currently residing at our hostel, The Elms. You will provide assistance for the day-to-day running of the hostel under the guidance of the Hostel Key Workers, undertaking a range of hostel duties including helping with administrative tasks, dealing with resident issues and basic catering duties.

Ideally, applicants will have experience working within a hostel or care setting and working with clients who have a wide range of complex needs.

20 hours a week on a three weekly rota basis. Actually salary £11,481.60 for 20 hours a week (£11.04 an hour)

About you

Have experience working with clients who have a wide range of complex needs

You can deliver high quality, structured and time-limited interventions which have a lasting impact on clients’ lives.

· You have a good understanding of the issues faced by homeless people from complex backgrounds and an ability to engage positively with this vulnerable client group

You have an understanding of the principles underlying a quality and deliverin11.04 an hour)g a person centred service.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.

You are self-motivated and can manage your time effectively; prioritising different areas of work according to needs.

You are a people’s person and a natural team player, willing to work to a common goal

You are passionate about making a positive difference to people’s lives.

You are IT literate and familiar with Microsoft Packages such as Word, Excel & Outlook
