The Role at a Glance

• Sports Coach / Youth Mentor (we call it Delivery Lead)

• £18,750 - £22,500 per annum (pro rata), based on a full-time equivalent of £25,000 - £30,000
• Part time 28 hours per week (full-time 37.5 hours)

What you’ll be doing

Every young person deserves someone who believes in them.

As a Sports coach & youth mentor, you'll play a vital role in that journey. Alongside your coaching partner, you'll deliver engaging sports sessions, mentoring and workshops that inspire young people, build trust and help them realise their potential. Whether you're supporting a young person one-to-one, leading a group activity or helping deliver enrichment events, you'll be creating opportunities for young people to succeed.

This is more than a coaching role. It's an opportunity to be a positive role model, build meaningful relationships and make a lasting difference in the lives of young people across Hastings & Bexhill.

You do not need to know rugby to apply. The rugby side can be taught, and plenty of people in the team started with youth work or mentoring experience rather than a sports coaching background.

Day to day, you’ll work with schools, alternative provision teams and community partners to keep sessions safe, productive and well-organised. You’ll also support holiday activities, career taster days and enrichment trips, giving young people positive things to be part of outside school.

There will be some admin too, including tracking attendance, progress and outcomes. This helps the team see what is working and keep support consistent for the young people taking part.

 At Dallaglio RugbyWorks, we support young people 12-18 who have been excluded from education or at risk of exclusion. Using sport as the starting point and mentoring as the foundation, we help them build confidence, resilience and the skills they need to create brighter futures.  Rugby helps start the relationship, but the work goes far beyond sport. The charity uses mentoring, life skills, wellbeing support and career-focused activities to help young people build confidence and prepare for life after school.

Our work focuses on four areas: life skills, raising aspirations, physical wellbeing and mental wellbeing and the aim is to make sure exclusion from school does not become exclusion from society. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Part Time Advocacy Support Worker with the delivery of our Community One-to-One Advocacy project.

The Project Worker / Advocacy Assistant will work closely with the Project Manager to deliver a high-quality, person-centred Community One-to-One Advocacy service across the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Supporting the day-to-day delivery of the project, the postholder will help ensure that project objectives, outcomes, and timescales are achieved in line with organisational policies and funder requirements.

The postholder will work directly with individuals with learning disabilities, autistic people, and other vulnerable adults to help them understand their rights, access services, overcome barriers, and improve their independence and wellbeing. They will also support the Project Manager with community outreach, volunteer coordination, partnership working, monitoring and evaluation, and maintaining accurate records to ensure the effective delivery and ongoing development of the project.

We are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated support worker to join our NDP Navigation Service
Working within the Outreach & Training team to provide information, advice, signposting, training and support to parents and carers of children and young people on the West Sussex Neurodevelopmental Pathway (NDP) who have been referred into the service. 

Person Specification (essential):

Knowledge
• ​Extensive knowledge and/or experience of the challenges faced by parent-carers and children and young people on the neurodevelopmental pathway 
• Extensive knowledge and/or experience of ADHD, Autism and other neurodivergent conditions

Experience

As a Project Coordinator, you will be delivering informal educational workshops in secondary schools, working within a vibrant team of experienced educators, as well as managing day to day administration to ensure the smooth running of the project. Stand Up! Education Against Discrimination brings Jewish & Muslim educators into the classroom to facilitate informal conversations with young people.​ By creating a safe space and through free interactive workshops, students are empowered to learn about and act against racism and discrimination with a specific focus on antisemitism and anti-Muslim hate. Young people are provided with the tools on how to report hate crime, whilst developing their sense of social responsibility to their local communities and British society as a whole.

The programme has reached over 150,000 young people across the country since its inception in 2017 and has received recognition from the Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan, who funds the programme through the Shared Endeavour Fund. Workshops are delivered by expert facilitators who create a safe space for young people to debunk myths and misconceptions about the Muslim and Jewish communities.
