About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person to join our small yet ambitious fundraising and communications team at Cherry Trees as Fundraising Assistant. Whilst support and administration are at the heart of this role, you will play a key part in supporting the team with sight and activity across all fundraising areas and could be a great opportunity for someone looking to take their first steps into fundraising.

Key responsibilities

1. Fundraising

• To be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries that come in by telephone, email, and post.
• Support the team by recording and sending fundraising materials to those raising money for us through events and challenge event.
• Ensure letters, certificates and emails are processed in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Provide support to the events and individual giving teams and their programme of activity.
• Supporting the Head of Fundraising with partnerships, community groups and club activity.
• To develop a good understanding of our fundraising activity and to maintain the processes behind registration and online giving platforms such as JustGiving.
• Monitoring and replenishment of office supplies.
• Help to actively promote participation in our fundraising events and activities.
• Other general fundraising and administration duties, as and when required to ensure the smooth running of the department including assisting in other team projects when they arise.
• To represent Cherry Trees on occasion at community events or other activity, and being flexibility and willing to travel and attend events outside normal office hours (time off in lieu given).
• Support the Community and Events Officer in volunteer recruitment and management.

2. Stewardship

• Provide excellent support and stewardship to our supporters, challenge event participants, individual givers, community supporters and volunteers.
• Build, manage and maintain rewarding relationships with existing and new supporters and colleagues and teams across Cherry Trees with a ‘friendly-face’ approach.

3. Information Management

• Using the fundraising database (Donorfy) ensure all activity and correspondence is recorded accurately, as well as supporting our team’s financial processes and data export needs (training will be provided).
• Be responsible for ensuring all records are maintained/updated on the fundraising database.
• To develop an in-depth knowledge of the database to be the go-to person, and identify opportunities to support your own activity and that of the team.
• Continuously aim to improve the efficiency of administration processes necessary for the smooth running of the fundraising department.
• Ensure that data processing is in accordance with GDPR compliance.

4. Finance and other

• To ensure all donations are processed and on the fundraising database, correctly, and supporters are thanked in a timely manner.
• To process the weekly fundraising income and financial reconciliation, with the support of volunteers (training will be provided).
• To undertake other reasonable activities as required by your line manager.

The Facilities Assistant role:

As our Facilities Assistant, you will be responsible for the presentation of the premises and the day-to-day compliance with health and safety related to this role. • An understanding of overseeing minor repairs and maintenance, controlling heating, ventilation and other mechanical systems, with a willingness and ability to learn on the job 
• An understanding of building related health and safety, and willing to learn and do training in this area
• Experience of providing excellent customer service
• Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate confidently and effectively

The role of Assistant Accountant supports the finance team to maintain the accuracy of the society’s purchase ledger, using the SAGE 200 accounting system, as well as producing accurate ad hoc analyses and perform a range of other reconciliation, banking and filing duties.

Main Responsibilities:

•   to carry out regular building risk assessments

Also, to ensure that necessary inspections and certification of lifts and other equipment are carried out as per requirements of insurers and current legislation.
• To provide the CEO and Head of Housing with advice and guidance around technical and regulatory requirements on YMCA property developments and acquisitions of new buildings.

 To work with the HOCS to prepare a budget for central costs (buildings and vehicles) and to manage this budget through the year. 

To prepare and present a report to the quarterly Governance and Risk Committee which has a remit for overseeing the organisational risk management framework, incident reporting and regulatory compliance.

DESCRIPTION

The Role

As Assistant Accountant, you will take a lead role in every aspect of the day-today accounting and financial stewardship of the Church, working in collaboration with the staff team. The PA to the Archdeacon is a crucial and incredibly varied role at the Diocese, as you will provide support at a senior level to ensure the smooth running of the work of the Archdeacon’s Office in Maidstone.

Sightsavers Zambia office is currently seeking two Programme Assistants to support the Neglected Tropical Diseases Elimination project funded by Helmsley. The project aims to support the implementation of interventions under the Ministry of Health's National Trachoma Elimination Programme.

The Programme Assistants will be responsible for managing daily activities and supporting the delivery of the project with key stakeholders at local and national levels. The Programme Assistants will be an important point of contact for the project within the region.

Programme Assistants duties include:

• Working closely with the Project Manager in the implementation and monitoring of the full geographical coverage approach for Trichiasis case management.
• Supporting the planning and implementation of trachoma surveys.
• Supporting the identification of WASH needs and implementation of the facial cleanliness and environmental improvement component of the project.

community engagement, grants and bid writing, Wills and Legacies and gaining regular donors, while overseeing a programme of events with an assistant for support?

Fundraising Manager

£38,000 – £41,000 FTE dependent on experience. Reporting to the CEO. Four days, based at Jecca’s House, Chipping Campden.

Responsibilites:

Fundraising – General 

• To deliver a continuous fundraising operation to meet the short, medium and long-term revenue needs of the charity as determined by the CEO and Board of Trustees 
• Establish and maintain positive relationships across the organisation and an in-depth understanding of the charity’s needs and priorities to ensure your fundraising activity contributes positively 
• Development and maintenance of key resources to support our fundraising activity, including case for support, programme schedule and budgets 
• To develop corporate sponsorship proposals and be prepared to respond promptly to funding offers and opportunities 
• To steward regular donors, ensure they receive appropriate thanks and are kept informed
• Develop strategy to increase number of regular donors through the implementation of a regular giving programme 
• Grow and manage the regular donors’ scheme, Payroll Giving, In-Memory giving, and appeals, contributing to the overall fundraising strategy. 
• Champion the use of data and insight to drive regular giving, utilising database (Beacon) for effective prospect and donor management

Fundraising – Trusts & Foundations 

• Researching fundraising opportunities which are likely to fund the work of CHN, writing compelling grant applications and building and managing a new business pipeline to deliver year-on-year growth in Trust and Foundations Fundraising income 
• Cultivate relationships with prospects and identify appropriate projects or areas of CHN’s work to meet their criteria, developing tailored, persuasive funding proposals 
• Deliver first-class grant management – taking responsibility for all requirements of funders including impact reporting, financial monitoring and reporting 
• Ensure robust and practical monitoring and evaluation plans are in place to demonstrate the impact of grants you manage and report effectively to funders 

Relationship Management 

• Provide excellent stewardship and supporter care to regular donors 
• Produce and deliver tailored engagement plans to deepen and grow CHN donor relationships

£22,500 to £26,000 (FTE dependent on experience). Responsible to the Fundraising Manager and Marcomms Manager. Two days per week (worked over three days if preferable. Based at Jecca’s House

• Assist in the creation, planning, setting up and working at fundraising and community awareness events 
• Face to face community work in the form of hosting coffee mornings and fundraising/engagement events 
• Face to face collection of raffle prizes etc within our communities 
• Poster erection and flyer distribution

• Work closely with both managers in the MARCOMMS team 

MARCOMMS/Fundraising – General

• You will be highly organised, used to working in a fast-paced and autonomous environment and need to be able to plan ahead.

• Flexibility is key as this role will require evening and weekend work, time will be given in lieu for hours worked in this situation 
• Computer literate as there will be database and design tools such as Canva to use 
• A team player as you will work with the Fundraising Manager and Communications Manager. Prioritisation is second nature.
• You will be confident using social media, and objective and flexible in the way you use the tools and platforms available. 
• Experience using CRMs is desirable but not essential. 
• This role can be physical – the successful candidate will be involved in setting up and closing of events which may entail some heavy moving and carrying.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE SLT

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time (21-28 hours per week). Additional hours may sometime be required, particularly for Trustee meetings, and can be taken as Time Off In Lieu.

The Executive Assistant (EA) to the SLT will facilitate all the charity’s governance requirements.
