Main Purpose of the Role:
Royal British Legion Industries Ltd. (RBLI) is both a charity and a company limited by guarantee. The trustees of RBLI are therefore responsible for oversight of the organisation under both charity and company law. They are they legal directors, as determined by company law and the Articles of Association. The day to day running of RBLI is the responsibility of the Chief Executive and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This role, which reports to the Director of Governance, Compliance & Business Systems, supports the board of trustees and the SLT in all areas of governance.
Overview of the Role & Team:
RBLI is a diverse and complex organisation, with divisions that cover social care, property management, estates management, welfare and employment solutions, manufacturing, and marketing / fundraising. There are also several support functions including people and culture, finance and performance, business systems, and risk and compliance. This role is an essential part of the change process currently ongoing across RBLI.
The team is overseen by the Director of Governance, Compliance and Business Systems. Key working relationships include the board of trustees, the SLT, Assistant Directors, the Strategic Assistant, the wider Governance & Compliance Division, and the support functions.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Governance:
- Oversight of all board and sub-committee meetings, ensuring there is an efficient and effective structure to achieve organisational objectives including the review and maintenance of all terms of reference.
- Compliance with internal KPIs in relation to issue of board and sub-committee papers.
- Oversight of all matters arising and actions.
- Support the induction process for new trustees.
- Support the board and committee effectiveness review.
- Submission of all statutory returns.
- Ensuring compliance with the Companies Act and the Charities Act.
- Oversight of any governance related returns.
- Oversight of key RBLI registers such as Declaration of Interests.
- Oversee submission of documentation during the annual audit process.
Company Secretarial:
- Responsible for planning and managing the annual cycle of meetings for the board and sub-committees, including maintenance of the forward plans and agendas.
- Taking minutes of the boards and sub-committees (shared responsibility).
- Oversee the logistics for the meetings.
- Responsible for planning the AGM.
Legal and Assurance:
- Monitor compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, proving advice to SLT and members of staff as necessary.
- Oversight and communication of all compliance policies such as Conflicts of Interests and Gifts & Hospitality.
- Supporting the Director of Governance, Compliance & Business Systems to deliver the assurance and compliance programmes.
Risk Management:
- Managing the insurance process in terms of:
- Collating information in relation to claims
- Submitting claims information
- Supporting the Finance Team in the annual insurance renewal process

Requirement for the Role:

- Extensive experience in a governance role within a charity or similar organisation
- Experience of working closely with trustees, directors, and senior leadership

- Advanced IT skills in areas such as Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, Outlook
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable:
- ICSA or similar qualification

Your role
As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Wakefield shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.

You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. We have an exciting new opportunity for a Facilities & Technology Coordinator to join our Facilities & Health and Safety team. You will be responsible for providing first line support surrounding use of the Imperial College Union (ICU) building and technology infrastructure, working closely with the digital systems function of the Union and College ICT to ensure that user issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
Your role will act as a triage for incoming queries to the Systems team, resolving queries where possible and escalating to senior staff members and College ICT where appropriate. In addition, you will also manage ongoing tickets with the wider College ICT service desk, proactively monitoring the status of tickets and seeing them through to resolution.
The role will also be responsible for providing installation, setup and tracking of technology and physical equipment, allowing proper visibility of our resources for management purposes.
You will be responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance of all Union spaces, promptly reporting defects, and arranging repair work as needed. They take ownership of shared spaces, including Activity and Meeting rooms, ensuring they are clean, organised, with suitable equipment in place and always ready for use. The role will also include undertaking essential maintenance, repair and improvement tasks to address minor issues or repairs. Reporting to the Facilities, Health & Safety Manager, and working closely with the Head of Digital & Marketing, the post holder will be a skilled user of IT with excellent customer service skills. About the team
The team will be made up of six Navigators based across the City of Manchester, as well as a Peer Coordinator. You will hold your own caseload, supported by the Team Leader. You will work alongside Navigators who are based within partner organisations at the Big Life Group and Back on Track, as well as a team of peer volunteers. The team is also responsible for contributing to Shelter’s wider community priorities and work with internal colleagues to deliver our strategy.
About the role
The service will provide Early Help Support for Adults facing multiple disadvantages via the ‘Bringing Service Together for People in Places’ (BST PiP) programme in Manchester and the national Changing Futures programme. Your role will be to work directly with adults and liaise with linked agencies and services in the community to improve outcomes. Your collaborative, trauma-responsive and person-centred approach will be key to achieving this. You will identify blocks and barriers within existing systems and find solutions to make wider and transformational change locally. We put the involvement of people with lived experience of multiple disadvantages at the heart of delivering this service and in co-production of future delivery.
About you
You will need experience of frontline services, supporting adults from diverse backgrounds with multiple and complex needs and/or multiple disadvantages. You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of Manchester based services and community assets, be able to represent Shelter externally and have an appreciation of the barriers and personal difficulties faced by people accessing local services, You will have a proactive, creative, and collaborative approach, great relationship building skills, a flair for leading change and the confidence to challenge the status quo You will also have demonstrable experience of working with volunteers and co-production.

About the Role
You will be providing direct support and assistance to the Senior Legal Counsel and Legal Counsel in providing advice and appropriate action on day to day legal, commercial and compliance issues. In doing so, you will also support the wider, international organisation in pursuing its mission at International Headquarters and Territorial level. This will be a broad role giving the successful candidate interesting insight into and experience of the international work of charity.
This role will initially be on a one-year fixed term basis, with the potential to move to a permanent contract. We would be happy to consider candidates who wish to work on a part time basis of four days a week.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- NQ-5 PQE experience if a qualified lawyer or 5 or more years of paralegal experience with requisite commercial/third sector experience. We would be willing to consider lawyers with more PQE provided that they demonstrate a willingness to undertake tasks of an administrative/’junior’ nature;
- Experience of working in a busy legal team, either in house or in private practice;
- Knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures;
- Experience of reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements;
- Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and advise accordingly;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Good IT skills;
- Ability to multi-task efficiently in a multi-discipline environment;
- Ability to apply commercial knowledge of legal affairs within an international charity context;

The Director of Finance Business Partnering (Operations) is a critical role within the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance division that will lead, develop and deliver high quality finance business partnering and decision support to all the central services of the university, including providing financial planning, reporting and insight across revenue and capital funded activity.
You will support the senior Director of the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance function in development and improvement projects. Examples include the development of a professional competencies framework to support career progression and performance at all levels, supported by learning and development opportunities, improving key processes, resource allocation and financial planning methodologies, and reporting on financial performance.
As part of the function’s senior management team, this role will lead a team of finance business partners who will provide outstanding partnering services to our central services including large functions such as Estates and Facilities, IT, Students & Education, Research Management and on other crucial ‘head office’ activities. Working closely with the corporate reporting team on the provision of management accounts, you will lead on financial performance support in-year and across our three-year financial planning framework. You will also undertake and provide professional support to your team on business partnering skills, financial modelling, business case development and financial appraisals. You will play a wider role as a senior member of the finance leadership team on cross-college initiatives and be asked to deputise for the senior Director of the division or their peers.
It is an exciting time to join the university as we are making a step change in our support and advice, particularly to directorate heads and our Senior Vice Principal (Operations), and onwards through the leadership roles across the central service directorates where financial and operational decisions are made.

About the Service
Our Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways.
We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis centres, crisis cafes and a weekend Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary.
The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Services are:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire.
- To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To provide an alternative pathway to people in distress and crisis to support better outcomes and reduce the demand on statutory crisis services and emergency services.
About the Role
Mental Healthcare Support Workers are key members of staff delivering the Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Service, taking part in a rota covering 7 days per week, ensuring the delivery of quality crisis support services and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the crisis cafe and helpline provision. Working closely with other staff (bank staff, volunteers), coordinators, team leaders and Crisis manager to ensure services are of the highest quality and support the continued growth and development of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing emotional support and developing, alongside clients, flexible and realistic crisis support/person-centred plans within agreed guidelines with support from leadership team (including assessments of need, risk, crisis support plans and review forms), often where risks are significant.
- Liaising with statutory agencies to ensure appropriate intervention is obtained for individuals.
- Drawing upon own lived experience as appropriate to inform the delivery of person-centred support.
- Providing immediate advice and information to clients to support with crisis presentations.
- To support individuals both through telephone support (helpline) and face to face support (crisis café).
- Liaising with Nightlight management and external services e.g. police, ambulance service, Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, Single Point of Access, Safeguarding Out of Hours Service, Mental Health Liaison Teams, Adult Community Mental Health Services etc .as needed in terms of accepting referrals and proactively recognising the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitating appropriate support.
- Completing appropriate signposting/onward referrals to both internal and external services in accordance with identified needs and risks.
- Supporting clients with making drinks and beverages as needed when visiting the crisis café.
- Assisting with housing keeping/cleaning tasks as necessary and reporting any maintenance problems.
- Contributing to the co-development of the service by supporting service user, family and carer involvement by obtaining feedback and supporting where necessary chances to be involved in wider service reviews.

Bonny Downs Community Association has been working together to change lives and transform our community since 1998. Over the past 25 years our team has grown to provide a wide array of services that benefit Newham residents from all walks of life.
This role is specifically funded through the Youth Endowment fund as a pilot project ‘Thriving Communities’. You will be required to work alongside Thriving Communities commissioners, as well as the project’s Youth Justice Worker’s, Educational Psychologist, and/or professionals assigned to individual young people’s cases- such as teachers, social workers and mentors. The Thriving Communities project is a small part of a wider collaborative project, EMPOWER YOUTH, delivered by two partner charities so, although this position is based at BDCA, you will be working closely with a second East Ham Youth Partnership Project lead and team of Sessional Assistants based at nearby charity The Renewal Programme (TRP). Staff from each organisation will work together to deliver the programme and cross-refer young people to activities led by both teams. You will also be required to work with BDCA’s own Children & Families team during the summer scheme and liaise with our marketing team all year round. External partner agencies that you will work directly with include Thriving Communities panel, Newham Youth Empowerment Service, Newham Community Engagement Team, local sports clubs and schools.
