We are looking for someone to join the St Mungo’s Street Outreach service; our dynamic street outreach team in Oxford who provide a rapid response service to people who are sleeping rough across Oxford City. The dedicated team works proactively as part of Oxfordshire’s Homeless Alliance to support people who are sleeping rough on the street with key healthcare, benefits, and accommodation support and advice.

• Working as an Outreach Worker you will work with people to assess their needs and deliver a person centred support, as well as working in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams and agencies across the city to meet client’s individual needs.
• It’s not always an easy job, but the exciting opportunity to work with different people every day, helping individuals experiencing homelessness and the local community end the harms of rough sleeping is highly rewarding.

You will work on a weekly shift rota Monday – Friday including early shifts starting from around 6am and additional shifts from 9am-5pm office hours. Some weekends, bank holidays and late shifts may also be required to ensure we are available to support people experiencing homelessness when they need us the most.

We are looking for a Housing Mobile Night Worker to provide floating support to our teams in high support 24-hour projects as well as medium support and transitional housing units to ensure that our properties are safe, secure, and welcoming through the night.

Your shift will commence at Eastbourne Foyer and will support the static night worker there during the night as well as undertaking your mobile duties across Eastbourne, Hailsham, Bexhill and Hastings.

Working on site you will be responsible for ensuring the service is safe by keeping clear records of night time activity within the building. You will regularly complete building checks and monitor CCTV upkeeping health and safety regulations in accordance with YMCA DLG's policies and procedures.  You will work to prevent any anti-social behaviour from impacting our neighbours and other residents. You will work alongside other support staff to maximise the wellbeing of residents by completing one to one interventions with young people who may be experiencing mental health crisis and/or who may need medical assistance.

You will also be lone working as part of the role, so you will need to be comfortable with decision making and following procedures.

In addition, you will have the ability to de-escalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour appropriately.

About the Role

This role offers the opportunity to join our service team at Luton. Based at our Wellbeing Centre in Dumfries Street we offer activities and groups throughout the day enabling service users to manage their mental health and move through their recovery journeys. In addition to facilitating a range of groups the role will involve assessing individual’s suitability for the service and signposting to local services and community support where necessary, as well as performing 1-1 meetings with clients periodically in order to assess and create action plans.

The role includes the opportunity to support events in the community to raise awareness of our services and build links with local organisations, as well as supporting volunteer and student placements.

Service Delivery

• Deliver a service and ensure outcomes which support individuals with mental health and wellbeing needs in Luton, in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed recovery model as well as contract requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Carry out assessments on individuals’ suitability for Mind BLMK’s services in line with the Access to Service procedure and processes and the needs, priorities and support required by the individual.
• Facilitate onsite activity, drop-in and topic based group sessions. This may include planning of topics that support wellbeing, facilitating informal drop in and discussions, planning and organising activity based sessions including guest speakers and signposting and information sharing about other local services and resources.
• Encourage and support client engagement with Mind BLMK through Guarantor Membership and other opportunities available through Influence and Participation.
• Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).

About the service

Our Community Support Service is here to provide advice, information and holistic outreach support to people who are experiencing mental ill-health or need help with their mental wellbeing. We work alongside people to develop an individually tailored package of support that meets their needs, working with clients to find the solutions that are right for them. This service is flexible to help resolve real-life difficulties and improve client’s independence, quality of life and wellbeing.

The service will be delivered in Three Rivers, based at the Herts Mind Network Wellbeing Centre, providing outreach around Three Rivers.

The purpose of the Community Support Service Outreach Worker is to:

• To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with coexisting drug and alcohol difficulties and mental ill-health. These will be clients who are presenting to the Police, Anti-Social Behaviour, Tenancy Enforcement, Housing and Environmental Health Services within Three Rivers.
• To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
• To raise greater awareness of complex needs and the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) amongst local service providers. Supporting them to gain confidence in working positively and consistently with people who have multiple needs.

Leading an exciting new community engagement project, you will understand and break down barriers to physical activity and maximise provision to help residents become healthier and happier. To make this happen, we will look to you to design and deliver a far-reaching investment programme for VCSE organisations, so you can expect an extremely high profile. In particular, you will:

• Secure buy-in from diverse groups and stakeholders to make things happen.
• Bring together public bodies, investors and colleagues to secure and deploy funding.
• Manage the relationship with our core partner Salford Community Leisure.
• Constantly monitor and report on project activity.
• Find innovative ways to connect with hard-to-reach groups and increase their participation in physical activity.
• Effectively manage your time and oversee your own administration.

As you would expect, we require a confident and ambitious self-starter with:

• Experience of overseeing commissioned or grant-funded work, including reporting to partners.
• A track record of providing information to individuals and groups.
• Proven ability to conduct research, analyse data and gain clear insights.
• Outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrable flair for multi-tasking and prioritising conflicting demands.

Finally, an understanding of the importance of physical activity would be very useful, as would some exposure to the voluntary, community or social enterprise sector.

Croydon Drop In (CDI) are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic practitioner to work within our award-winning Voluntary Sector services. The post-holder will work within our safeguarding protocols to provide safe interventions for Neurodivergent children, young people and families using evidence-based methodologies. The post holder will safely work with people across different cultural backgrounds and ages and will be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

The post holder will use their skills to support children and young people who are referred in to or have self-referred in to the A for Autism Service. This service is a community based Pre and Post Autism Diagnostic Service. The successful candidate will receive Reflective Practice Supervision to support their professional development and ensure the safety of themselves and the people they work with, alongside Line Management Supervision.

Information about the Job Role

This full-time role will be best suited for applicants who are able to balance a busy work schedule being both office based and community based, working mainly with 16 – 25 year old children, young people and their families, and delivering workshops and one to one support in a range of community based settings, and at CDI sites. Applicants must be willing to travel around Croydon as the service is community based. Occasional travel outside of Croydon may also arise to best meet the needs of those accessing the service. This role will include session, activity and resources design and delivery.
