Main duties and responsibilities

Manage the DUK project portfolio

• Become a subject matter expert in applied and translational research in DMD, allowing informed decision making and effective communication with key stakeholders
• Support identification of new project and collaborative opportunities, including the ongoing management and delivery of our applicant-led funding call
• Support the Director of Research and Development in project scientific review, working with the Scientific Advisory Board, Patient Advisory Board, Senior Leadership Team and DUK Board of Trustees
• Manage project development and initiation, including contracting, the development of detailed project plans, including go/no-go milestones, and budgets
• Manage and oversee project delivery, including monitoring of progress, according to agreed timelines and deliverables (including written updates and formal reports), and managing project finances, including reviewing and approval of invoices and monitoring project expenditure
• Support research budget forecasting in liaison with the finance team and the Director of Research and Development, and ensure compliance across the project portfolio
• Build and manage relationships with external partners and maintain regular communication through the project life cycle

Research governance and processes

• Maintain and improve, as relevant, internal processes for research management and governance
• Act as system owner for the research functions within DUK’s CRM (Salesforce), maintaining records and driving process improvements for grant workflows and monitoring
• Support the Director of Research and Development in research governance activities
• Support the Director of Research and Development to ensure compliance with the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) requirements, such as - contributing to annual data collection and surveys; implementation of AMRC processes and reviews recommendations, as relevant; keep up to date with relevant news and opportunities for training, collaboration and networking

Support the Director of Research and Development on the following external engagement activities

• Development and implementation of outreach and engagement activities in the DMD patient and research community to inform areas for research focus and prioritisation
• Scoping and development of formal and informal strategic partnerships and relationships with key stakeholder organisations (e.g. membership societies, other charities, consortia etc)

Support delivery of DUK flagship strategic programmes

DUK has strategic programmes in clinical research access and capacity, care standards and care access, assistive technologies and patient data. Under the oversight of the Director of Research and Development and working closely with the relevant programme team:

• Coordinate key programme updates and discussions between the DUK team and the programme teams
• Working with DUK comms team, support the development of external comms and marketing
• Working with the Director of Research and Development and the programme teams, support development of new initiatives and external funding opportunities

Other key responsibilities

• Provide general research admin support (e.g. arrange research meetings, both internal and external, prepare agendas and take minutes)
• Work with DUK comms team to identify case studies and success stories and support the development of the research comms strategy
• Coordinate research comms and work with the Director of Research and Development and comms team to ensure all research content is accurate and appropriate
• Work with the income generation and comms teams to provide updates to our key co-funding partners
• Support the collection of portfolio data across all programmes for DUK KPIs and to support DUK impact report development

The Sentencing Academy, established in 2019, has made significant strides in advocating for effective sentencing practices and enhancing the understanding of sentencing among professionals and the public. We are now looking for a visionary leader to join us as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This pivotal role will oversee the strategic direction of the charity, strengthening future sustainability and marking a new chapter in its mission to promote evidenced-based approaches to sentencing to help reduce re-offending, provide justice to victims and improve public confidence.

About the Role

This key position offers the chance to shape and develop the future of the Sentencing Academy and its commitment to enhancing sentencing practices and research in England and Wales. It is a leadership opportunity that involves executing a strategic plan that supports the charity's longevity. We are seeking a passionate, and experienced leader with a proven track record in the non-profit sector to join our team as CEO. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an interest in sentencing and the wider criminal justice system. What We Offer

The post is offered on a 0.5 to 0.8 FTE basis (18.75 to 30 hours per week) on a permanent basis. An attractive package is offered alongside flexible hybrid working arrangements. Role purpose

The Head of Finance is a key member of the Charity’s senior management team, working closely with the chief executive, directors, and trustees. The head of finance will lead the day-to-day financial operations of the Charity, including budgeting, reporting, audit, payroll, and pensions. Managing the finance manager and management accountant, the Head of Finance will ensure the effective running of the finance department and smooth day-to-day processes. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be a key advisor on strategic financial decisions, balancing meticulous operational control with strategic planning.

As the Head of Finance, you will:

• Proactively contribute to the development and delivery of the Charity’s strategy through developing long-term financial planning to underpin our objectives.

The Director General functions as the Chief Executive of the charity, providing strategic leadership and operational oversight to fulfil EASST's mission and objectives.

Terms and Conditions

• Location: Based in the United Kingdom, with the right to work in the UK. The team currently works remotely with no office base.

Sheffield Community Bike Project is a not-for-profit community cycle repair workshop that aims to improve access to cycling through three main activities:

• Free (donations appreciated) access to tools and workshop space for DIY cycle repairs, with support from our volunteer team. This includes some sessions for specific groups.

• Offering affordable new and used parts, and refurbished second-hand bikes for sale.

• Focussed cycle maintenance training sessions to upskill our community.

The CEO will lead Sheffield Community Bike Project to successfully carry out its charitable aims, working closely with the Board of Trustees, Bike Project Manager and volunteers. This will include providing strategic leadership, building the organisation's long-term sustainability, securing the funding that enables our work, and supervision of any other paid staff. SCBP is at a key moment of growth. Having taken on workshop premises in September 2024, we are now working to increase the number of sessions that we run, streamline our volunteer and participant experience, and expand the breadth of provision that we offer. Forest Farm Peace Garden is a small East London charity offering ecotherapy and community gardening to support people’s mental health and wellbeing.

We are looking for a strategic, hands‑on Director (21 hours per week) to lead our next chapter, working closely with a committed staff team, trustees and volunteers.

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Fundraising Development Manager to join the Bright Shadow team at a pivotal moment for our charity.

Responsible for developing and delivering Bright Shadow’s long-term income strategy, you will play an important role at the heart of our organisation. As well as managing our funding pipeline and relationships with funders and donors, you will build a diverse and sustainable funding portfolio to support our ambitious creative programme for people living with and affected by dementia.

Bright Shadow has secured funding for this new position for the next three years, and we’re looking for someone to join our team at a pivotal moment. Our award-winning Zest programme is expanding in autumn 2026, we’re building our Dementia Arts Quality Framework, and we’re continuing to expand our capacity to co-create projects thanks to our Campfire Conversations and Open Forums.

Our team is small but mighty, including our fantastic inclusive board of trustees, two of whom live with dementia. We know we need to add an experienced fundraising manager to our team to help us build our community of support. Could that be you?

Working closely with the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees, you will:

• Develop and implement a long-term fundraising strategy
• Build and manage a strong funding pipeline across trusts and foundations, individuals, corporates, commissioning and earned income
• Write compelling funding applications and reports

• Steward relationships with funders, donors and key stakeholders
• Ensure robust systems for tracking income, reporting and compliance

Skillway (part of the Warehouse Christian Trust) is dedicated to supporting vulnerable young people by providing them with essential life skills through hands-on training in metalwork, woodworking and crafts. The charity aims to develop both practical vocational skills and personal growth, fostering self-confidence, resilience, and employability in a safe, supportive environment.

Job Purpose:

The Head of Operations at Skillway oversees all operational aspects of this arm of the charity, ensuring the successful delivery of all our educational programmes. This role requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and day-to-day management, including student recruitment and retention, staff oversight, fundraising, and partnership management. The ideal candidate will be passionate about social impact and committed to improving the lives of vulnerable young people.

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Management and Delivery

• Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of training in woodwork, metalwork and other crafts.

• Ensure the training meets the educational and personal development needs of vulnerable young people.

• Monitor student progress, providing support to overcome barriers and ensuring high-quality, impactful learning experiences.

• Develop new initiatives and adapt the existing training programmes to meet the evolving needs of students, schools and the community.

• Develop a long-term strategy for the growth of Skillway.

• Set and model high standards for the staff team, volunteers and students.

• Site housekeeping and management of Skillway’s woodland site.

2.  Leadership and Staff Management

• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of staff and volunteers.

• Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture, fostering professional development and ensuring that all staff members are supported.

• Manage recruitment, training, and performance of staff and volunteers.

• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants and staff including responsibility for risk assessments.

• Develop and apply our safeguarding policy as Designated Safeguarding Lead.

3.  Strategic Planning and Development

• With the Board of Trustees, develop and execute the charity's strategic goals.

• Develop and manage the charity’s budget and resources to ensure financial sustainability and impact.

• Identify and pursue new opportunities for growth, including partnerships, new funding streams, and relationships with local schools, businesses and other community organisations.

• Maintain effective and safe digital organisation of key data.

• Support the other arm of our charity - The Camino Café - as and when required.

4.  Fundraising and Financial Oversight

• Lead fundraising efforts to secure funding from diverse sources, including grants, donations, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events.

• Oversee the preparation of funding applications and reports for donors and grant-making bodies.

• Maintain financial oversight, ensuring effective use of resources, monitoring expenses and reporting financial performance to the Board using Quickbooks as the primary accounting and reporting tool.

• Improve branding and awareness of Skillway and its aims and purpose.

5.  Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy

• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, schools, community groups, donors, and business partners.

• Represent the charity in public and at events, advocating for the charity's mission and the importance of vocational education for vulnerable young people.

• Ensure the charity’s work is widely known and respected in the community.

6.  Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

• Implement systems for monitoring and evaluating the impact of Skillway’s work.

• Gather feedback from participants, staff, and stakeholders to assess programme effectiveness and make improvements.

• Provide regular updates and reports to the Board of Trustees, funders, and other stakeholders on the charity’s impact and outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

• Proven experience in a management role, ideally within the charity or education sector.

• Background in vocational education, youth work, or a related field, with a focus on supporting vulnerable young people.

• Experience in leading and managing a diverse team, with the ability to inspire, support, and develop staff.

• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.

• Demonstrated ability in fundraising, securing grants, and building donor relationships.

• Knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and reporting.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Claudia Jones organisation (CJO) Is looking to appoint a highly skilled Executive Director with experience of working in the Voluntary/Community sector to support the development of the organisation. This is a key appointment funded for 1year.

CJO is one of the few small Black lead charities in London, enhancing the quality of life for African Caribbean Women and Families. Founded in 1982 at the request of Caribbean women, CJO delivers family-centred services for women with children 0-16yrs, Gender- based violence support, connections for older people, health and wellbeing activities, counselling and therapeutic interventions to inspire and empower African Caribbean heritage women and families.

Reporting to the board of directors/trustees, the Executive Director will oversee the strategic and operational efficiencies of our programmes and staff. This experienced leader will not only understand the working of the voluntary/community sector but also have experience in developing and implementing a successful fundraising plan.
