We are seeking Trustees, particularly those with experience in income generation, finance, leadership/governance, change management, and communications.
What will you be doing?
As a trustee you will have an essential role in supporting the organisation at a time of many exciting and challenging developments
We are in the process of securing new accommodation with the intention of moving to newly designed and refurbished premises for the whole organisation within the next year.
We are also currently developing new services in immigration - the first of their kind in any Citizens Advice organisation in Wales and we are also developing new services in housing and homelessness.
Our partnership work is also a key area for further development as we move towards delivering more and more services collaboratively.
Our governance structure consists of a Trustee Board and sub-committees for finance and personnel and for performance, risk and compliance. Trustee input is also encouraged in the Research and Campaigns Group, Health and Safety Committee and throughout the annual Business Development and Planning process.
What are we looking for?
Each individual member of the trustee board brings skills and qualities to the board. They add to the collective knowledge and experience by providing:

Before you apply
We will invite any interested candidates to an informal meeting to enable them to find out more about the organisation and role and decide if they wish to continue with an application. Once this is confirmed an interview will be arranged with a panel led by the Chair of the Trustee Board. Any recommendation for appointment will then be approved by the Board.

The Finance Committee oversees on how the RTPI’s financial assets are being managed and employed for the benefits of our members. The Committee is a mix of members of the RTPI Board of Trustees and independent co-opted members. It reports directly to the Board who then report to the General Assembly.
Outline of role
Review funding requests and financial information. Bring analysis, constructive challenge and an independent perspective to the Committee’s discussions and decision-making.
Impact of the role
The Board of Trustee has delegated some of its responsibilities relating to the review of financial information, the oversight of major projects and investment management to the Finance Committee. Members of the Finance Committee assist the RTPI by providing an additional layer of scrutiny and assurance to support the RTPI Board’s decision-making.

We are seeking new Trustees to help shape and grow our national charity that supports young people leaving care to live connected, interdependent and fulfilling lives. Our approach is co-designed with young people, built on psychological and relational groupwork practice, and delivered through local house projects (LHPs) across England and Scotland.

The Deputy Chair of Hidayah provides essential support to the Chair, helps ensure the effective governance of the organisation, and stands ready to act in the Chair’s absence. This role helps maintain the smooth functioning of the Board and the organisation overall.

Founded in 2013, our charity is led by women, for women. Women are at the highest risk of suicide up to a year after giving birth and during perimenopause. And we provide mental health support for women at these key times in their lives.

Trustees play a vital role in ensuring Airdrie Foodbank meets its core purpose by overseeing the management and administration of the charity and ensuring that the foodbank has a clear strategy in line with our vision and goals.
What will you be doing?
Trustees have collective responsibility for the governance of the organisation and for all decisions made by the Board. - To ensure the food bank has appropriate procedures to: comply with current legislation and good practice; including employment, health and safety, equal opportunities, safeguarding & GDPR compliance/data protection etc.

- To prepare for and regularly attend and participate in board and subcommittee meetings and any trustee away days.
- To provide ad hoc support to the staff team and volunteers from time to time.

Rydym yn chwilio am ymddiriedolwr sydd â chefndir ym maes cyllid a/neu gyfrifeg, yn ddelfrydol, gyda phrofiad yn y sector elusennol, a fydd yn gweithio gyda'r Bwrdd Ymddiriedolwyr a'r Rheolwyr drwy gadw golwg ar gyllid y sefydliad, sicrhau hyfywedd ariannol, cynghori ac arwain ar ofynion ariannol ac arferion gorau, a darparu cyngor, cymorth a gwybodaeth i Ymddiriedolwyr ar eu cyfrifoldebau o ran gofalu am gyllid.

We’re looking for a motivated finance professional to join our Trustee Board as Treasurer, provide us with financial strategic direction and help us maintain our long-term sustainability
Working closely with our Chair and Chief Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
• Keeping the Board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities
• Guiding and advising the Board in the approval of budgets, accounts and financial statements
• Chairing the Board’s Finance Sub-Committee
• Reviewing the quarterly and year end accounts produced by our Administrator
• Presenting the year end accounts at the Annual General Meeting
• Ensuring that proper financial procedures and controls are in place to safeguard the charity’s resources
• Ensuring that the charity has appropriate reserves and investment policies
You don’t need to have been a trustee before, but you’ll need to:
• have recognised professional financial qualifications or experience
• ideally, have some knowledge or experience of charity finances
• be familiar with Quickbooks accounting systems and spreadsheets
• have the skills to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences
• be able to explain complex financial information in an accessible way
• be able to exercise good independent judgment and if necessary to make difficult recommendations
• work effectively as part of a team
• have the time and flexibility to respond to the demands of the charity
• be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality, equality and data protection
• represent Citizens Advice professionally at all times
Please note that while a large part of the role can be performed remotely, in-person attendance is expected for the board and trustee meetings.
