The Brand Manager will play a crucial role in the planning, development and implementation of brand activity across the charity. The role is key to driving growth across brand, fundraising and engagement.
Working closely with the Senior Brand Manager and the wider Brand department, this role will put the Alzheimer’s Research UK brand at the heart of everything we do, business partnering across the organisation to embed the brand internally, maximise opportunities to amplify the brand, and drive brand consistency.
The Brand Manager will liaise across the whole organisation, working particularly closely with key contacts across Marketing and Fundraising, Communications and Policy.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Work closely with the Senior Brand Manager to develop and deliver the organisation-wide brand strategy, driving engagement across the charity.
· Deliver brand campaign activity to ensure that campaigns are delivered efficiently and have maximum impact.
· Act as an internal brand consultant across the organisation, collaborating with teams to amplify the brand and maximise brand opportunities.
· Lead brand input into integrated campaign moments across the charity, ensuring consistent look and feel and aligned messaging.
· Line manage a Brand Officer and support them in their development.
· Inspire and engage colleagues internally, delivering internal communications to ensure that the brand is alive, understood and actively developed.
· Drive forward planning to ensure that plans are co-ordinated, regularly reviewed, and the brand is measured effectively.
· Be a day-to-day contact for external agencies and freelancers where relevant.
· Work with the Insight team to evaluate the impact of brand campaign activity.
What we are looking for:
· Experience of leading multi-channel brand or marketing communications campaigns with a good knowledge of the full marketing mix.
· Proven experience in project planning, management and delivery for marketing campaigns.
· Experience of working with external creative agencies and freelancers.
· Strong line management experience.
· Experience of developing creative and applying a master brand to products, content and communications.
· Strong experience of developing key messaging for individual products and campaigns.
· Experience of measuring and reporting on brand health and campaign performance.
· The ability to work at pace, delivering multiple complex projects to meet specified deadlines.
· Outstanding leadership and coordination skills.
· Clear and concise communications skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to cut through complexity.
· Ability to influence and collaborate with a range of stakeholders at all levels and get buy-in to new ideas.
· Understanding of the range of media channels and platforms used for brand marketing.
Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Responsibilities to Include:
PR & Media
· Enhance the charity’s profile among targeted audiences through strategic PR activities and diverse media channels, both B2C and B2B.
· Proactively cultivate, build and maintain relationships with media partners at local, regional, and national levels in both trade and consumer media, including print, online, and broadcast platforms, as well as with individual journalists.
· Write compelling and clear press releases, blogs, articles, and statements to effectively communicate our messages.
· Respond promptly to press enquiries for comments, views, and supporting information, and maximise opportunities for further engagement on relevant topics.
· Support the fundraising team by highlighting partner stories, managing PR efforts, and supporting events.
· Lead the pursuit of media-related funding opportunities, such as The Times and Sunday Times Christmas Appeal and corporate opportunities like BGC and ICAP days.
· Manage nominations for relevant awards to gain recognition and support for the charity.
· Pursue and implement strategic media partnerships to enhance visibility and outreach.
· Work with the Chief Executive to liaise with Her Majesty, The Queen’s press office when applicable, particularly on key events
Content Creation & Storytelling
· Gather and write compelling stories to share our impact with funders, supporters and media through interviews our families, ensuring brand compliance and accessibility.
· Ensure consent is obtained and materials are stored securely in line with GDPR and privacy policy.
Celebrity and Talent Management
· Strategically manage our ambassador programme, keeping our mission prominent and visible, including securing new patrons and ambassadors
· Build authentic relationships with a network of celebrities and influencers to champion our cause.
· Create memorable moments and engaging content with famous supporters that resonate with audiences.
· Ensure our values and vision are highlighted in every celebrity collaboration.
Communications
· Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive Communications plan that aligns with our mission and goals and marketing and brand work, maximising the impact of planned activities
· Ensure our story is told in the most compelling way by collaborating with our Programmes team, Roald Dahl Nurses, and their patients and families to create evidence-based, impactful case stories, imagery, videos, and films.
· Create and deliver both long-term and annual communications strategies, addressing local, regional, and national activities.
· Handle crisis communications professionally and efficiently, maintaining the charity’s reputation.
· Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners (including funders) to ensure consistent and effective communication across all channels.
· Track and evaluate the effectiveness of communications activities and campaigns, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
· Work with Director of Fundraising and Communications and Brand and Marketing manager to lead the creation, development, and implementation of impactful awareness and fundraising campaigns that amplify our messages, expand our reach, drive growth, and maximise income generation
· Forge partnerships with key stakeholders, including media, to extend the reach of our campaigns.
· Develop and manage effective relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders, including supporters and trustees, media, other charities, companies, and healthcare professionals.
Teamwork & Administration
· Analyse communications quarterly, preparing information for the trustee sub-committees with up-to-date coverage examples to share with the team and Board.
· Monitor and share relevant charity and media with the wider team and Trustees
· Keep shared drive and CRM (Beacon) records up to date.
· Participate in team meetings across fundraising, programmes, and communications.

The Senior Social Media Manager will play a crucial role in leading Alzheimer's Research UK's social media function, driving supporter growth, brand awareness, engagement, and income; as well as significantly advancing our influencing and advocacy goals. This role is a key investment in transforming our social media output, aligning with the broader Digital, Data and Technology and Strategic Marketing plans that are developing our future operating model.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing a compelling, integrated, proactive and reactive organic social media strategy that positions Alzheimer's Research UK as the leading voice in dementia research in the UK. This role will ensure our social media presence consistently reflects the highest standards of quality and creativity, while driving our strategic roadmap across platforms. We’re looking for a creative and strategic thinking individual with strong writing skills to lead the development and delivery of compelling digital content that aligns our key messages to key audiences. You’ll play a vital role in increasing our visibility, strengthening our voice, and positioning Fields in Trust as the go-to organisation for commentary, advice, and support on parks and green spaces.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement a digital content plan aligned with organisational strategy and goals, collaborating with media partners and creative agencies as needed.

Ensure consistent messaging across all digital channels and audience segments.

Create engaging, high-quality content (written, visual, and video) for our website, social media, and email newsletters.

Design and implement standardised templates for external communications (e.g. partner presentations) to ensure consistent brand tone and messaging across teams.

Manage the content calendar and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and relevant content delivery.

Tailor digital content (and occasional offline materials such as a publications, annual reviews, and display panels) to resonate with key audiences including national and local government, the built environment sector, funders, partners and park users.

Use storytelling to highlight the value of parks and green spaces and the impact of our work.

Manage and optimise our website and social media presence.

Monitor content performance and engagement, using analytics to guide content strategy and improvements.

Uphold and evolve our brand voice and visual identity across digital content and assets.

Act as a guardian for tone, language, and messaging consistency.

Work cross-organizationally to develop high quality content and outputs we can use to influence and engage key audiences.

Support colleagues with digital content, best practice and training where needed.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Demonstrable experience in digital content creation and planning.

Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Strong understanding of digital platforms, SEO, and analytics.

Job Purpose
To lead on the planning, delivery, optimisation and performance reporting of insight-led, multi-channel marketing campaigns that support acquisition, engagement and retention objectives across HACT’s products and services portfolio. The role is central to ensuring our marketing activity is targeted, measurable, and delivers clear value for our organisation and stakeholders.
Role Description
We are looking for a confident, motivated and results-driven marketing professional with a strong background in multi-channel campaign development and communications who is keen to work for a purpose-driven organisation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves creating high-performing campaigns and wants to make a tangible difference through their work.
You will be responsible for planning, executing and evaluating targeted, insight-driven marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement and lead generation across a wide range of HACT’s projects, services and propositions. You’ll work closely with the Head of Marketing and teams across the organisation to bring our brand, offers and showcase the impact we create to all our audiences.
With hands-on responsibility for our developing and delivering campaigns utisiling the CRM and omni platforms, you will lead campaign planning and performance reporting, ensuring our messaging is always on-brand, relevant and effective. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to take real ownership and innovate within a small, high-impact team.
Responsibilities
- Design, deliver and evaluate high-impact marketing campaigns across all channels to promote HACT’s services, projects and charitable purpose.
- Apply audience segmentation, personalisation and targeting strategies to ensure effective communication with varied customer groups.
- Create and manage content for campaign assets, including landing pages, emails, blogs, social media and event materials.
- Deliver campaigns using digital tools such as Email management suite,Buffer, Google Analytics, and CMS platforms and optimise through data-driven insights.
- Lead the use of the CRM to support audience segmentation, campaign management and reporting across the customer lifecycle.
- Develop KPIs for campaigns and lead on performance tracking, reporting and continuous improvement.
- Manage the HACT website, ensuring content is current, accurate, SEO-optimised and designed to convert.
- Deliver engaging, timely and strategic social media activity across all key channels.
- Oversee and deliver email marketing campaigns with targeted content and personalisation to maximise engagement.
- Coordinate online and face-to-face events from a marketing and communications perspective to ensure strong attendance and experience.
- Support PR, media and thought leadership activity to increase brand reach and reinforce HACT’s sector voice.
- Build effective working relationships across teams and stakeholders to develop marketing briefs, assets and cross-channel campaign plans.
- Continuously review and evolve marketing and campaign processes to increase impact, relevance and return on investment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience of planning, delivering and reporting on end-to-end marketing campaigns.
- Strong working knowledge of digital marketing platforms, CRM tools and campaign reporting
- Experience applying segmentation, targeting and personalisation to improve campaign outcomes.
- Confident content creation and copywriting skills across web, email, social and print formats.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and work flexibly.
- A proactive, collaborative, and resilient mindset, able to manage a varied and fast-paced workload.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate campaign data into actionable insights and recommendations.
Job Accountabilities

This is a senior-level role involves developing and delivering strategic media plans that raise awareness, increase support, and position the charity as a partner of choice for donors, fundraisers and corporate sponsors. The successful candidate will manage a small team, shape national media coverage for campaigns and events, and work closely with brand and marketing teams to ensure consistent, impactful messaging.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in high-profile media relations, excellent writing and planning skills, and the confidence to lead on proactive and reactive PR. Strong stakeholder management, agency coordination and team leadership experience are essential.
This is a full time role, five days per week, two of which will need to be in the office.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver proactive media and PR strategies across fundraising, brand campaigns, and corporate partnerships to drive awareness, income, and engagement
- Monitor the news agenda daily to identify opportunities, manage risk, and ensure the organisation is positioned as a leading voice in its field
- Line manage senior team members, contribute to process improvements, and support the development and delivery of team objectives
- Build strong relationships with journalists and media, provide strategic advice to stakeholders, and lead on media training and spokesperson preparation
- Oversee content creation and sign-off, contribute to a 24/7 press office function, and deputise for senior leadership when required
The appointed candidate will have:
- Proven experience leading media campaigns across fundraising and brand marketing
- Strong contacts within national media and an instinct for compelling storytelling
- Experience managing agencies and working cross-functionally
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- A proactive, strategic mindset and ability to handle sensitive issues with sound judgement
