About the Organisation
This is a brand new locally run youth charity, and will be the first Youth Zone in Yorkshire. It is set to provide thousands of young people with the opportunity to have fun, make new friends, try something new and feel safe. We’re recruiting for a Communications Manager, England, to play a vital role in helping us to build community cohesion, strengthen society, and improve lives – as we deliver on our strategy, It Starts With Community.This role is an 18 month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity.
The position is part of an exciting and sophisticated programme aimed at tackling social issues. Through this initiative, we work closely with government to distribute money from long since unused bank and building society accounts (‘dormant assets’) for the benefit of the community.
The job will focus on two multi-million-pound funding schemes that The National Lottery Community Fund will deliver. These are:
- The Community Wealth Fund (a pot of money given to local communities to spend on what they decide will improve where they live); and
- The Youth Enrichment Fund (aimed at increasing disadvantaged young people’s access to opportunities in the arts, culture, sports, and wider youth services, aimed at improving wellbeing and employability)
In this role, you’ll work closely with government and colleagues across the Fund to deliver integrated, multi-channel communications activities that effectively promote these programmes and showcase their impact on the communities we serve. Your work will help shape public understanding of the schemes, inspire communities to engage with them, and build trust with key stakeholders.
We are looking for a calm and organised strategic communicator and storyteller with an ability to build relationships and adapt. You’ll be experienced in developing integrated campaigns and working across teams to deliver high-impact communications.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop deep insight into these programmes, to enable you to implement effective communications plans for them while supporting Strategic Communications Leads to build and manage matrix teams.
- Design, develop, and deliver messaging, narrative and content, as well as social and brand assets, working closely with colleagues in the wider team to deliver effective and impactful communications activities.
- Build positive relationships with government comms and policy counterparts as well as with teammates and colleagues across the Fund to make programme communications relevant and resonate internally and within Government departments (specifically DCMS and MHCLG) and, most importantly, the communities we serve.
- Work closely with colleagues in the media team to deliver integrated activities, monitoring media and advising on opportunities and risks. Ensure rapid response to emerging issues with processes and protocol on lines to take and spokespeople.

The programme
The mandate of the Knowledge, Learning and Communications (KLC) programme is to capture, distil and share knowledge and learning to strengthen Foundation’s impact and effectiveness. The programme brings together a range of functions critical to the Foundation’s identity, coherence and visibility including the facility to learn internally; management of information and infrastructure; leadership of the Foundation’s monitoring and evaluation work; and all aspects of our communications and outreach including reporting.
The role
The Programme Officer (PO) will support the effective delivery of the Foundation’s Knowledge, Learning and Communications (KLC) workplan. Working under the supervision of the KLC Programme Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the Foundation’s websites; planning and creating content for our online channels that communicates meaningful results and tells the Foundation’s story in as engaging way as possible; event coordination, facilitation and promotion; support for media relations; support for annual reporting and results monitoring; and support to Foundation staff in the optimal use of communications tools and IT.

The individual
We seek an individual with demonstrated experience in communications gained within a comparable field, especially of social media and online marketing, along with experience of using website content management systems. The ideal candidate will also have experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and have a good understanding of Microsoft tools and webinar/virtual meeting platforms. They will have strong writing skills and experience in storytelling and reporting, along with an ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders. They should have an awareness of ensuring brand and style guidelines are reflected across communication activities and be comfortable acting as a first point of contact for media enquiries as well as liaising with colleagues and external suppliers.
What we Offer
Salary expectations: £32,076 - £35,605 per annum

The Motability Foundation is looking for a confident, driven media and PR professional to join the Communications team and lead our media and PR activity.

This role will play a crucial part in our work to raise awareness of the work of the Motability Foundation and amplify the voices of disabled people across the media.
This role will take a lead on all media and PR activities. With a strong news sense, you will help develop and execute forward-thinking PR plans and strategies for the organisation, manage our external profile and raise awareness of the work we do, aligned to our vision, and manage our press office, including building strong relationships with journalists.

What you will be doing

Operations Support
- Guide and assist ISEAL staff in using software tools effectively by leading inductions, writing guidance, sharing best practice, providing training and trouble-shooting issues that arise

Member communications
- Gather and prepare content for member mailings, including our monthly member-only newsletter, the ISEAL Insider
- Maintain the internal Mailchimp schedule, liaising with staff in the Communications team to plan and schedule mailings effectively
- Support other ISEAL teams to communicate appropriately with members through our different channels and mailing lists, checking for adherence to brand guidelines
- Support the Membership Coordinator and Membership Manager with drafting blogs, news items, and group posts to share updates with members via the ISEAL Platform
- With the Membership Coordinator, regularly review content on the ISEAL Platform to ensure it remains accurate and up to date, liaising with other teams where necessary
Monitoring our membership programme
- Regularly collect data to help monitor our member communications, engagement with member-only events, and use of the ISEAL Platform
- Create and update quarterly reports and dashboards to help identify and communicate key trends and inform improvements
- Support the Membership Manager with the preparation of quarterly and annual engagement reports to send to members
- Deliver administrative processes that underpin member relationship management and track member engagement, including maintenance of member records within Salesforce

- Provide occasional support for member-only Zoom webinars and at in-person events
