About you and the role

This role will take our charity’s mission to a wider audience at an exciting time of development and growth. For a small communications team, we punch above our weight - regularly hitting the headlines, getting featured on agenda-setting news shows, receiving pro-bono support from renowned agencies such as Bartle, Bogle & Hegarty and Indigo Eight, and with high-profile influencers such as Prue Leith, Henry Dimbleby and Thomasina Miers in our corner.

Now we need someone with great media contacts, or the know-how to forge them, who can ensure a steady stream of coverage that gets all of our campaigns in front of our key audiences. Key responsibilities:

● Work with the Head of Communications to develop and deliver content, media opportunities and campaigns that help us raise awareness of our cause and achieve our wider strategic goals.

● Evaluate the success of campaigns, setting and tracking key metrics, feeding learnings back into future work in a cycle of continuous improvement.

● Prepare and deliver regular, meaningful reporting on all things communications, to assist and drive strategic decision making.

● Monitor and control spending against delegated budget, clearing any anticipated variance with the Head of Communications in advance.

● Collaborate with partner organizations (including Food Foundation, School Food Matters, Impact on Urban Health and Bite Back 2030) to identify and coordinate co-campaigning opportunities.

● Develop and deliver a patron and ambassador strategy.

● Work closely with colleagues, school chefs and teachers to unearth compelling content that will connect with key audiences.

● Identify, create and secure opportunities for coverage of our charity’s mission in target publications and platforms.

Skills & experience:

● You have interest and belief in our mission to improve kids’ health through improving food and food education in schools.

● 3+ years prior experience in a similar role.

● You are organised, methodical, strong on detail, and able to map out deadlines and plan ahead.

● Ideally you’d have some experience of line management, a ‘must’ is a commitment to developing the team.

● You have proven success designing and delivering communications plans and campaigns.

● You have experience successfully pitching stories and/or collaborations to media, journalists and influencers.

● You understand how to create engaging content - both written and visual.

● You see opportunities for coverage and know how to make them happen.

● You’re up to date on media and communications trends and able to stay ahead of the curve.

The recruitment process

In line with our commitment to ensuring a fair and unbiased recruitment process, we will invite candidates to interview based on their answers to a series of questions related to their day-to-day job.

Your answers will go through our sifting process: all answers will be anonymised, randomised and then reviewed by a panel of reviewers. We are looking for a proactive and passionate individual with a strong background in digital marketing and fundraising to help us bring rivers back to life.

Our rivers face more threats than ever. SERT’s Working with Communities Team educates and engages local communities and other stakeholders who have the power, influence (and money!) to help make our rivers thrive again.  This role will play a key part in making this happen by helping us reach more people from a wider range of audiences, and connecting them to the issues facing rivers, the solutions that will make a difference and by raising our profile in the expert delivery of them.

This new role within our Working with Communities Team will develop and implement a digital strategy to amplify and support SERT’s presence through increased brand profile, supporter acquisition and engagement and donated revenue. This will involve creating and managing online marketing and fundraising campaigns for the Trust across our digital platforms that grow support for our mission, generate income, reach new audiences and promote the value of the South East’s rivers.

The role will refine the Trust’s existing supporter journey to increase donor revenue making use of its established channels (organic social media, newsletter, website) as well as researching and implementing new channels such as paid advertising, SEO, online campaigns (including crowdfunding) and new social platforms.

You will also find creative and compelling ways to talk about our work, share case studies and successes and make our website the go-to resource for expert and inspiring information about rivers and how to help them.

The ideal candidate would have a background in marcoms and fundraising for non-profits, be a compelling storyteller, and be highly confident and competent in digital communications.

We3can is a collaboration between three cancer charities - Brain Tumour Research, Leukaemia UK and Sarcoma UK. We3Can is an ambitious collaboration of the three charities to fund research into prevention, treatment and cures for the most common childhood cancers: brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma. Its purpose is "Funding research into better, kinder treatments to help cure kids' cancer."

The three cancers it focuses on (brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma) make up 78% of all childhood cancers. The collaboration allows the three distinct organizations to come together with a single-minded vision to be louder, more powerful, reach more people, and fund more vital research.

Job Purpose:

The Project Development Manager will be the main point of contact for the collaboration. They will be responsible for implementing and delivering the project plan, monitoring, evaluations, reporting, all systems and processes, coordinating meetings, etc and for generating income through (mainly) Corporate partnerships but may include some Trusts and High Value individuals. These partners will be with organisations/individuals who would otherwise be outside the reach of any of the three charities individually.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create systems and processes for administering and managing the functions of the partnership.
• Ensure regular project group meetings take place.

To work with the Commercial Marketing Manager to drive commercial interest in Kooth Digital Health’s services in the UK healthcare setting by supporting the delivery of multi-channel campaigns, online and in-person events and customer database management.

Responsibilities

Digital Campaign Delivery:

• Working closely with the Commercial Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and logistics of various commercially focused campaigns ensuring deadlines are met and key milestones and metrics are achieved.

Fundraising Public Relations Officer

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic PR and marketing professional in our London fundraising office to design and deliver creative, multi-channel, integrated fundraising and PR campaigns designed to significantly increase the Hospital’s voluntary income.

The success of this role will be dependent on engaging and building meaningful long-term relationships with both existing and new supporters through effective donor stewardship, attending events, and networking.  

The successful candidate will work in conjunction with a small, dedicated team to provide fundraising, comms, and event support to our community fundraising groups.  

High quality comms and media are going to be central to our plans to go public in a big way in 2024.  Creating high-quality, impactful, and engaging content for multimedia platforms will be key. You’ll be able to identify stories from across the organisation, draw out information and ideas from others, and successfully turn complicated or clinical information into clear, simple, and compelling narratives.

Main responsibilities:

Fundraising

· Develop and implement integrated fundraising, marketing and PR campaigns designed to significantly increase the Hospital’s voluntary income.

· Create and promote compelling and engaging content for web, social media, and email – ensuring that all comms have clear goals and outcomes.

· Manage the key relationships with the Guild fundraising Committee and the SOA fundraising committee including comms, marketing, and event support as well as helping to manage the key relationships with the Knights Templar sub-groups, and the County Priory Groups across the UK.  

· To put in place measures for evaluating the effectiveness of all fundraising, PR and marketing activity ensuring robust data collection, analysis procedures, and making suggestions for improvements where required.

· Manage the production of key organisational publications – including, the Jerusalem Scene magazine, Annual Report, Strategic Plan, Annual Leaflet, and other promotional materials.
