About the role

The Treasury Manager plays a critical role in supporting Christian Aid to create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty by overseeing all cash flows, ensuring the proper management of funds, and optimising financial returns. With responsibility for approximately £90 million in cash flows, this role is pivotal in safeguarding our financial resources and enabling our programs to make a real difference in the 37 countries we work.

About you

You will be a fast learner, inquisitive and able to understand the requirements of Christian Aid and apply them into a complex global financial setting. Acting as Christian Aid's subject matter expert on use of alternative transfer systems, staying up to date with published guidance, and emerging practices within the sector, advising and guiding senior management in this area. You will hold a professional accounting or banking qualification and have significant experience in a finance treasury role with banking relations

The service supports up to 18 female rough sleepers referred to service by local authorities, street outreach services and StreetLink.

Candidate duties:

• Line managing a staff team of up to 8 staff including both day and night support workers in a service with a total of 18 clients

Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.

The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.

Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation.  This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.

• You will also work with the Big Green Heart team to onboard new partner organisations. You will work with them to understand their needs and secure buy-in.

• You will be trained as a Big Green Heart facilitator with an expectation that you may be needed to facilitate a workshop during your time at the organisation.

The Senior Research Manager for Research Management and Impact is responsible for the allocation and management of all external Marie Curie research awards and for supporting and evidencing their impact on policy and practice. Increasingly, research is also being commissioned to answer specific research questions.

The Research Management Team at Marie Curie oversees and manages Marie Curie's external research investment from setting the strategic direction and research priorities, allocating and monitoring research projects and programmes, to establishing and publicising their impact. Our research priorities are informed by the views of patients, carers and health and social care professionals and we strive to ensure that research findings inform policy and practice to improve end of life experience.

This is a key post in the Research Management Team that is responsible for the allocation and management of research grants such as project grants awarded as part of the Marie Curie Research Grants Scheme, our Research Impact Fund, commissioned research, and reviews of our Marie Curie Research Centres. This includes monitoring grants through the review of annual and final reports, statements of expenditure and Researchfish submissions as well as developing relationships with the research teams to ensure that the next steps of research, notably the impact on policy and practice, is considered from the start of the project or programme.

Role Description

As Volunteer Programmes Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the successful delivery of projects in the Decorate A Child's Life (DACL) and Adventure Play Partnership (APP) volunteering programmes. Your role will include  managing the day-to-day operations for Volunteer Programmes, oversight of programme coordination,  reviewing and updating procedures on a rolling basis and keeping good records, including financial monitoring and collecting impact data for regular reporting. This role may at times include attending site visits to scope projects, and leading and supervising groups of volunteers during project installations. 

You will work closely with fundraising colleagues to match partners/corporate volunteer groups to projects, and from time to time you’ll contribute to scoping new opportunities to adapt our offer for potential partnership pitches. Our Corporate Partnerships Manager will be a key colleague, as you’ll work together to plan and organise volunteering opportunities and to plan and implement a high-quality volunteer experience that ultimately helps the charity to secure income generation corporate partnerships. You’ll need to take a lead role in monitoring and reporting on progress, including the expenditure budget for project delivery, the level of delivery and the capturing of feedback from both beneficiaries and volunteers.
