To achieve its ambition BRAC is building a specialised team of partnerships specialist to be based across key European markets i.e. Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, UK and Switzerland.

The Foundations Officer will work as part of the Partnerships team and focus on delivering income targets from trusts, foundations and corporates. The Foundations Officer plays a pivotal role in advancing BRAC’s mission by stewarding partnerships with philanthropic and corporate foundations and creating new business opportunities to deliver on BRAC’s mission.

• Support your fellow Senior Managers to build a sustainable pipeline of new business prospects and streamline stewardship activities across the team.
• Work with the wider Philanthropy and Trusts team, and International Programmes Department to build compelling proposals and reports.

• Develop a deep knowledge of WaterAid's programmatic activities and advocacy priorities, growing and leveraging influential relationships internally and externally to benefit trust partnerships.
• Collaborate with colleagues in-country and across WaterAid to prepare and deliver high-quality funding information on complex restricted projects and strategic objectives including complicated budgets and bespoke log frames and KPIs, in line with donor requirements.
• Work with a range of internal and external contacts to identify, cultivate and manage prospective partnerships and existing relationships across all appropriate levels, including CEO's, Directors or Trustees.
• Manage risks across the Trusts sub team by following internal governance procedures, including where relevant SMT briefings, working with media/PR/internal audit/compliance to flag risks and manage mitigation strategies.

About You:

• Demonstrable track record in managing a successful trust and foundation income stream, ensuring team performance indicators and income targets are met.
• Proven ability to personally manage a successful trust and foundation portfolio raising funds from existing and new supporters (£500k+).
• Confidence in representing WaterAid externally at events, conferences and developing co-creation opportunities.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

About the role

Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player? 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. If you are seeking a dynamic and engaging fundraising role which offers you the chance to play a pivotal role within a small but ambitious organisation, then this could be the job for you.

You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships (ideally with experience and success in employee engagement, corporate sponsorship, and/or operational partnerships).

The role also line manages the Senior Fundraising Officer post, a position that provides administrative and fundraising support across the whole fundraising team.  Please note that we are a small team and so you’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to help out team members and to support new business across other restricted income streams.

We are looking for a high performing Product Development Manager to join the RSPB Commercial team, to manage the product sourcing for our gift categories. About the role:

This is a fixed 12 month Maternity cover role, working in our Product, Licensing and Trade team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering commercially successful gift product ranges, which help to meet the financial and strategic objectives of the trading business and wider RSPB priorities and campaigns.

This role will support the Senior Product Development Manager in developing the gift strategy to meet the needs of our retail sales channels and ambitious income targets. The Task Ahead: Finance Manager

As The Difference moves from its early start-up phase into the delivery of our 2025-30 strategy, our programmes and sector-influencing work are expanding to reach more schools and to deepen our impact. Alongside this growth, our team - and the operational function which supports them - is also growing.

As Finance Manager, you will be a key member of the Finance & Operations team. You will hold end-to-end responsibility for the finance function, from reconciliations to budgeting. You will decide where and how our existing processes could be improved, as well as developing new systems that will underpin our work as a larger and more established charity. You will be supported by the Director of People, Finance & Operations, as well as our external auditors.

The Difference is still a small and growing charity. This means that our work is fast-paced, our roles are broad, and there is a culture of being reactive and flexible, as the needs of the organisation evolve. Areas of Responsibility

The Difference is looking for a Finance Manager to lead our finance function in the following ways:

• Oversee our internal bookkeeping, payment, and accounting processes, and improve these systems ongoingly.

• Lead on budgeting and forecasting across the organisation, supporting teams to predict income and expenditure and make sound financial decisions.

• Lead on the production of management accounting information, including internal monthly management accounts, quarterly reports for Trustees, and financial reports for investors.

• Lead on The Difference’s audit process, with external auditors.

• Work with the Development & Impact Manager to update fundraising pipelines, and ensure the availability of high quality income projections for Trustees.

• Support accurate budgeting and reporting for grant funding, including tracking spend of restricted funds.

• Support business planning by working with teams to model potential future work - e.g. costs of expansion of an existing programme; modelling potential new programmes.

Person Specification

Essential – We are looking for the following skills, aptitude and experience; though you may be stronger in some areas than others:

Why Work for The Difference?

Schooling isn’t working for the children who need it most. Every week in England 109 children – equivalent to three full classrooms – are permanently excluded. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Since the pandemic, school suspensions have risen significantly, as has persistent absenteeism. 1 in 5 children are missing more than 10% of their time in school. Children who are excluded or persistently absent are much more likely to already be experiencing vulnerability or disadvantage. They are more likely to live in poverty, have additional learning needs, suffer mental health challenges, or experience a lack of safety outside school. Certain ethnicities are also disproportionately affected, notably Gypsy Roma Traveller and black Caribbean children. 

Exclusion and high rates of absence can have a dramatic effect on life chances. These young people are more likely to drop out of education or employment, become vulnerable to long-term mental ill health, or be at risk of criminal exploitation. The Difference believes that children and young people deserve better and that the education system has to change.

Our Organisation 

The Difference is a young education charity, founded to change the story on lost learning.  By 2030, we want rates of exclusion and absence to be falling nationally and for schools to be better equipped to support all children, including those who may be vulnerable. The Difference was born out of a year of research into school exclusions with think-tank IPPR. This research identified a lack of inclusion expertise in schools and proposed a new leadership development programme to fill this gap. In 2018, Difference founder Kiran hired the team who took this idea from concept to reality, beginning work with our first schools.

The Difference is now a 22-strong team delivering multiple school leadership programmes, alongside a growing research and policy arm. The team is supported by our Youth Advisory Board, made up of young people who have experienced exclusion and who provide their expertise and insights on how school inclusion work should be done. This work is needed more than ever. Effects of COVID-19, coupled with the spiralling cost of living, have substantially increased levels of vulnerability. Schools serving excluded pupils face under-funding. The Difference has had excellent early impact but there is work ahead to capture this, share learning with schools and policy-makers, and grow our capacity to lower exclusions across England.

With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects.

T&T has grown substantially over the last 5 years, and we are in an exciting time for the charity. We are reviewing our long-term aims and changing local needs to ensure  programme delivery continues our extensive track record of positive outcomes. We also need to review our current contracted provision and best practices in the charity’s business and operations.

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative and versatile finance business partner to join us at this time of growth. Reporting to Head of Finance, and working alongside other Finance Business Partners, you will be responsible for providing your financial expertise and support to our key stakeholders, playing an important part in enabling us to meet our ambitious strategy.

Main areas of responsibility

Business partnering:

• Provide a high-quality financial support to the nominated internal stakeholders. These may vary and will include some of the following: Food, Supply Chain & Logistics teams, Network Partner support, Operational centres (warehouses) and Support functions.
• Deliver monthly management accounts and KPI reporting for the nominated stakeholders. Monitor spend and provide financial insight and expertise to drive the delivery in line with FareShare’s strategic direction.
• Collaborate with the nominated internal stakeholders to develop and manage budgets and forecasts.
• Enhance financial reporting and analysis and develop KPI capabilities for the nominated stakeholders.
• Coach budget holders on finance systems and processes to develop effective budget management and controls.
• Provide cover for other Finance Business Partners when required, mainly around month end processes and management account reporting.

Financial accounting:

• Involvement in month end processes: produce month end journals, conduct balance sheet reconciliations for the nominated business centres.
• Support with the development and monitoring compliance of the financial policies and processes and controls.
• Oversee financial aspects of grants, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting to funders.

People and / or project management:

• Provide financial guidance and support to the finance transactional team.
• Line manage (or dotted line management responsibilities, dependant on experience) the finance offices in the operational centres (warehouses).
• Lead on process improvements in the business areas of responsibility.
• Provide any other support as and when required.
• Some travel to the operational centres and network partners, across the UK, will be required.

Person Specification

 Skills, experience and abilities

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA fully qualified or equivalent experience
• Business partnering experience, preferably in a similar size organisation and business model. Experience in the commercial Supply Chain & Logistics industry will be of advantage.
• A good track record in managing month end processes
• Strong financial accounting background
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using a range of accounting software and financial reporting tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt a style to various stakeholders
• Ability to build effective relationships across teams, ensuring staff are supported, motivated and challenged to achieve objectives
• Line management experience will be of advantage
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to adapt and influence change
• An understanding of either the food industry and/or the logistics industry would be advantageous

Join an exciting initiative that is supporting governments around the world to protect and promote media freedom!

The Thomson Reuters Foundation (TRF) is the corporate foundation of Thomson Reuters, the global news and information services company. As an independent charity we work to advance media freedom, foster more inclusive economies, and promote human rights. We combine our unique media development and legal services to drive systemic change through news, capacity strengthening, free legal assistance, and convening initiatives.

TRF provides a Secretariat function to the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC). The MFC is a partnership of 50 countries from six continents working together to advocate for media freedom and the safety of journalists at home and abroad. The MFC works closely with civil society and a panel of legal experts, among others, to promote media freedom through a range of activities – including public and private diplomacy to support journalists at risk, coordinated action through embassies, events and the promotion of legal reforms. The MFC was established in 2019 while the Secretariat was established in 2022. More information about the MFC can be found here.

The MFC Secretariat plays a central role in maximising the impact of the Coalition. It does this in four areas:

• Administration and operations: delivering specific activities including events and briefings; supporting and coordinating responses to cases of concern (in which journalists and news organisations are facing threats to their reporting); supporting embassies to act on media freedom; organizing meetings and maintaining the MFC’s network of contacts;

• Communications: communicating the MFC’s activities and impact externally, via website, social media and mainstream media coverage; supporting public-facing events; keeping the MFC’s network informed about activities and opportunities to take action;

• Policies and strategy: ensuring policies and processes are in place to facilitate an efficient, effective and responsive coalition; supporting strategic decision making; monitoring the latest developments in the media freedom context;

• Monitoring and evaluation: tracking and understanding the MFC’s outcomes and impact, and learning lessons from this. 

The Secretariat is supported by grants from Global Affairs Canada and the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office.

We are seeking a creative and resourceful Communications Manager to join our team. You will lead on the Secretariat’s communications function, both internally and externally, and will implement (and potentially improve on) our existing communications strategy. For the MFC, effective communications are not only about demonstrating the Coalition’s impact, they are also a way of encouraging and inspiring MFC member countries and their embassies to take action on media freedom. This means the Coalition’s communications are an essential component of its pathway to impact.

You will be required to engage with government representatives, diplomats, NGO leaders and some of the world’s finest legal practitioners as part of this role. You will look across the Coalition’s work and develop relationships with member countries and their embassies to identify human-centred stories that showcase the MFC’s work. The ideal candidate will be skilled at turning issues into stories and comfortable with taking the initiative and taking ownership of this area of the Secretariat’s work.

The role is based in Canary Wharf in London. The role is full time and you would be expected to attend TRF’s offices two or more days per week.

This is a 21-month fixed-term contract, starting 1 July 2024 or earlier, depending on availability. The contract may be extended beyond March 2026, conditional on further funds being secured for the Secretariat’s continued operation.

Some travel is anticipated as part of this role.

About The Role

As the Communications Manager you will:

• Research, develop, edit and write communications materials including impact stories and case studies for the MFC’s website and potentially other platforms, using multimedia options where appropriate

• Lead on the implementation of the MFC’s communications strategy, potentially making improvements to this, and tracking key performance indicators accordingly

• Manage the MFC’s website and social media channels (currently focused on Twitter/X) and monitor analytics/produce reports; manage upgrades to the MFC website in collaboration with TRF colleagues

• Curate and produce the MFC’s monthly network newsletter, which is sent to all MFC members and stakeholders

• Organise MFC events, online or in-person, and secure engaging speakers to feature in them

• Plan the MFC’s communications activities, taking account of communications opportunities such as anniversaries and international days

• Promote and maximise the impact of joint statements by MFC member countries, and monitor their impact

• Produce resources for member governments and their embassies, helping them to communicate on key media freedom issues

• Build relationships with media freedom organisations and networks to ensure wider communications reach and opportunities to collaborate

• Identify opportunities to feature the MFC within national/regional/international media as appropriate and build relationships to facilitate this

• Organise events (online or in-person) in collaboration with other members of the team, including developing content, finding speakers, and event coordination

About You

To be our Communications Manager, you will likely have:

• Solid experience in a communications role, producing communications outputs as part of a communications strategy

• Ability to write clear, concise and engaging copy with excellent attention to detail

• A diplomatic approach, including the ability to see issues from others’ perspectives and to spot and mitigate potential risks

• Ability to forge trusted relations with a wide range of cross-sector stakeholders

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines

• Fluency in English; other languages desirable but not necessary

It would be useful if you also have:

• Understanding of, or interest in, media freedom issues

• Experience of working with government officials (at any level)

• Experience working effectively as part of a remote team on collaborative initiatives

London's Air Ambulance treats patients who experience critical injury in the capital and support them and their families on a road to recovery. This is only possible through close collaboration between  London's Air Ambulance Charity, the London Ambulance Service (LAS), Barts Health NHS Trust (Barts), London's Major Trauma Centres and the wider Major Trauma Networks, to deliver groundbreaking care and save lives.

To deliver this service the Charity is split across two locations, with offices in Mansell St and in the Royal London Hospital. 
The Charity has grown significantly in size and complexity over the last few years and we are now seeking a Finance Business Partner to support the Deputy Director of Finance to provide the charity's Financial Performance and Analysis function.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance this post supports the provision of high quality financial reporting to assist budget holders, managers, directors and trustees. Acting as a finance business partner you will provide financial insights, analysis, and guidance to support decision-making and drive the financial performance of the charity.

Key areas of responsibilities;

• Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including finance and non-finance colleagues, to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Financial reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the charity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Own the full life cycle of reports from build to delivery.
