· To support the creation, development and ongoing management of digital based products and services, in line with the brand, including webinars, podcasts, marketing emails, and surveys.

· To support the Digital Product Manager to work with colleagues across the organisation, commissioners, customers, the workforce, people with lived experience and carers to update and develop the SCIE’s website and ensure that resources are appropriate and useful. 

This role sits within the Marketing and Communications team, led by the Head of Marketing and Communications, and working alongside colleagues in the wider Business Development and Marketing directorate. 

What we are looking for:

· Excellent written communication skills, with a commitment to communicating clearly and in plain English.

· Excellent oral communication skills.

· Experience of Content Management Systems (WordPress, Drupal, etc) and publishing content for a website with multiple audiences and priorities.

Role overview

This key role manages our flagship and award-winning project supporting refugees with IT Hardware. The project collects IT Hardware, refurbishes and repairs it through our network of technicians, matches it with a suitable recipient through our referral process and then distributes it to charities and individual refugees and asylum seekers at no cost to the recipient. The project is in its third year, in which it will grow to overseeing e-waste collection and tech re-sale.

This role has two central arms: project management and volunteer management. 

Overall management of the project includes key decision-making on tech refurbishment and distribution, building and maintaining key partnerships, impact reporting, staff management, external representation, developing and recording institutional memory and supporting the project's strategic growth with support from the Director. The postholder will be responsible for working with their team to maintain the smooth running of the project and deliver the project outcomes. They will deputise for the Director where necessary.

Volunteer management predominantly looks like the recruitment, coordination, training and retention of technical volunteers, many of whom are asylum seeking graduates of our tech training course. The post holder will be the go-to person for the volunteers and provide technical and management support with the help of our Technical Lead. 

We know good project managers have a variety of skills and experience. We are not running a personal specification, but the strongest applications will indicate staff management experience and basic knowledge of IT repair.

Outcome 1 - Manage the Digital Access project and the team working to deliver its outcomes 

• Oversee the logistics and operations involved in collecting, storing and redistributing large quantities of IT Hardware, including the distribution of Data SIM cards to recipients with support from your team.

• Work with the Engagement Manager to identify and communicate with businesses, individuals and other sources of IT Hardware to explain our process and the impact of the project.

• Oversee the smooth running of and improvements to the referral process through which charity partners and individual refugees apply for and receive devices.

• Ensure the project goals are delivered on time and within budget.

• Provide thoughtful and kind management of the Operations Coordinator and Operations Assistant, meeting regularly and supporting their development.

• Record the institutional memory of the project through a digital guide to the processes and learnings which constitute the Digital Access programme. 

• Ensure everyone at Screen Share who engages with the project does so in line with our safeguarding and privacy policies.

Outcome 2 - Monitor, evaluate and communicate the impact of our device provision 

• Collate and present service user and device data (e.g use-case, age, geography) on a monthly and quarterly basis which represents our impact on the ground for internal and external audiences.

• Lead on the measurement of our impact through collection of case studies and distribution of our feedback form.

• Critically analyse and improve our impact measurement process to ensure it is ethical and fit for purpose.

• Work directly with service users, the Director and Communications team to produce compelling stories of the impact of Screen Share’s provision, with particular focus on our annual impact report.

Outcome 3 - Coordinate tech volunteers, external repair partners and technical staff (tech agents) to secure a regular flow of repair and refurbishment

• Oversee the process by which tech agents request and receive parts for the refurbishment process (hardware, software and tools).

• Work with our Technical Lead to ensure tech agents are provisioning devices consistently across our suite.

• Ensure the smooth implementation of changes to our technical provision.

• Critically analyse and improve the way in which the repair and refurbishment process is technically facilitated and recorded.

• Design and Deliver a tech volunteer retention strategy.

• Ensure our repair and refurbishment costs do not exceed our budget.

• Conduct in-person reviews with tech agents to monitor their progress and provide quality assurance. 

• Explain our process to prospective repair partners and onboard them onto our system.

Outcome 4 - Recruit, train and support new technical volunteers

• Design and implement a nationwide technical volunteer recruitment and retention strategy which establishes a regular flow of technical volunteers into Screen Share, including and especially volunteers from an asylum seeking background and those who have graduated from our training course.

• Facilitate tech volunteer onboarding including external references, interviews and safeguarding.

• Coordinate and lead monthly volunteer tech team meetings. 

• Explore partnerships with local tech businesses or refugees for paid refurbishment.

• Run basic laptop refurbishment refresher training for new volunteers in need of support.

Outcome 5  - Ensure Screen Share tech agent records are kept up to date

• Ensure the tech agent base is kept up to date at all times with all necessary details to facilitate refurbishment 

• Ensure contact logs are maintained for each tech agent in accordance with GDPR legislation and that holidays/preferences/issues are recorded

• Ensure the right staff can access notes on 1:1’s with tech volunteers 

• Analyse tech agent data thematically, implementing adjustments on a regular basis 

Outcome 6 - Contribute to the strategic development of the project and ensure the Director receives appropriate support 

• Represent the project to prospective partners, local councils and at public events, increasing its visibility within the refugee and tech sector.

• Design and implement experiments to test assumptions, minimise risk and scale the project.

• Deputise for the Founder and Director in internal and external settings where necessary.

What experience and track record do you have?

Role Responsibilities  

• Lead digital donor acquisition activities and journeys across a variety of channels including paid social, paid search, display, email and telemarketing. 
• Develop and implement a lead generation strategy to grow our supporter base, utilising and testing tools and tactics such as quizzes, petitions and hand-raisers to recruit and convert new leads and engage existing donors.

• Ensure all activities are aligned with strategic objectives, managing the multi-million-pound income and expenditure budget for digital acquisition and lead generation. 
• Actively test and optimise new products, channels and propositions to maximise fundraising and engagement opportunities, analysing progress and results.
• Manage relationships with agencies and campaign stakeholders to deliver agreed KPIs and fundraising targets, monitoring performance and budgeted spend. 
• Ensure that prospective donors receive an excellent supporter experience, working closely with the fundraising and comms team to develop a seamless journey across channels, including email, paid media and telemarketing. 
• Working with communications colleagues to ensure the website and social media channels are up to date with key messages and reflect content related to lead generation and acquisition activities.
• Produce persuasive, high-quality email, social, display and web copy to motivate the public to act and donate and proofread and collect necessary feedback from relevant stakeholders and signatories in a timely manner.
• Remain flexible and quickly respond to emergency situations, identifying fundraising opportunities and develop relevant communications and journeys as needed, collaborating with colleagues from across the organisation. 
• Use data and insights to produce at minimum monthly reports on performance against KPIs and use analytics to identify trends and optimise activities based on user behaviour. 
• Stay up to date with digital best practices and technology, including sector trends and follow industry policies, including GDPR, PECR regulations, attending training and optimising plans accordingly.
• Stay up to date with issues affecting displaced communities, campaigns from international, content and reports from the field.
• Share creative and insights with UK colleagues, global teams, and HQ.
• Participate in training seminars, workshops, and skill shares where applicable. 
• Work collaboratively with digital engagement and communications colleagues to maximise fundraising and engagement opportunities.

We have an opportunity for a Digital Officer to support the day-to-day running of the College website. You will work closely with staff, members and volunteers to produce, manage and improve content for the website. As part of a small and busy team, this role would suit someone who enjoys collaboration and working with a range of stakeholders.    

We are going through an exciting period of digital transformation and this role will work on a variety of digital projects to support this area of work. The role will also provide support on a project to move our website onto a new content management system (CMS.)

Since 1991 we have reduced the rate of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome by 82% and saved the lives of over 32,000 babies. But our work is not over, as three babies still die suddenly and unexpectedly a week.

As the Digital Marketing Officer, you will deliver digital marketing activity and traditional marketing activity for The Lullaby Trust.

This role will focus on developing our digital marketing and digital brand activity to achieve our organisational objectives, save babies’ lives and support bereaved families. This role will cultivate strong working relationships with all internal teams, to ensure that we are making digital marketing perform for all departments, to better our impact. Demonstrating commitment and enthusiasm for the sector, success in this role will require outstanding digital marketing experience focused on setting and achieving ambitious growth targets.

Summary

The newly scoped CEO role in our vision-focussed charity is one of many challenges. Despite having doubled its outputs in the last 2 years, the charity acknowledges there is still a great job of work to do to prepare itself for even greater demand in its services - without necessarily a proportionate increase in its budgets. This role is about leading and enabling the incredible team of people on to even greater levels of already-strong performance. So we're looking for an accomplished leader and not just a great manager. We're looking for someone who can lead from both the front - and from within. This will be someone who is as comfortable sitting and engaging with our beneficiaries - primarily homeless people and those with previous convictions, as they are creating and delivering highly polished, compelling public event and funder and stakeholder-focussed presentations. We are looking for someone who understands the balance of external and internal focus required to ensure both good governance and team wellbeing (as they work in often challenging circumstances) and the ambition to keep developing existing and new external partnerships. With a strong start to its ambitious Corporate Partnership programme, commercial and/or business experience is highly desirable as well as a proven track record in creating and optimising new funding channels.

About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

Is leading the charity through its next phases of development as it prepares itself for year on year increases in demand with a focus on delivering the charity’s future resilience plan (Project 12/25). The CEO is accountable for overall charity performance (financial, operational, governance, compliance), team (paid and volunteer) support and development. Additionally, there are a wide range of community and external partner relationships to manage and develop. Ultimately this role sets the tone for the charity, one of both compassion and ambition to improve the lives of the people who need us. This is primarily an on-site role, with occasional opportunity to work flexibly.

About You

You have a stable CV that demonstrates you have built and led successful teams and enabled growth and/or transformation for your organisation – ideally in an equivalent charity/non-profit environment. You can evidence strong team leadership and results across a wide range of business functions which will need to include income generation, managing budgets and business operations. You live within - or know well, West/Central London, are passionate about improving the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people and can lead multi-functional teams through a blend of 121 coaching, training and ensuring a ‘we can do this’ culture across the charity. You are an accomplished and visionary public speaker and presenter, able to articulate both the journey we’re undertaking and the support/input we need to get there.

About the role

This is a new role and sits in the Fundraising and Digital Directorate. The Fundraising and Digital function is responsible for all the charity’s fundraising, brand, website, social media, emails and lead generation campaigns. This role sits within the Public Fundraising Team, which secures donations from individuals signed up to our newsletters and individuals giving up to £5,000 per year, legators and regular givers.

We are looking for somebody who enjoys working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and wants to develop their fundraising, and specifically digital fundraising skills to have a major impact on the lives of refugees in the UK.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

• Working with the wider public fundraising team, support the development of plans and activity to manage a portfolio of acquisition, retention and stewardship campaigns including, but not limited to, gathering content, setting up landing pages, creating graphics and assets for digital content, designing ad content, as well as delivering email and social media communications and digital versions of our supporter newsletter.
• Provide digital support for each fundraising project from start to finish. Lead on creating segmented and tailored email journeys – source content and create briefs, liaise with suppliers, create and oversee data selections, exports and imports and manage sign off process.
• Manage our email welcome journey for e-news sign ups, and support on the development of other supporter journeys for a range of audiences across the team.
• Ensure continued communications and strong working relationships with the Direct Marketing Manager and Digital and Comms teams.
• Play an active role in coordinating digital communication plans across the organisation, working alongside the Direct Marketing Manager and Comms colleagues to suggest themes and content as well as creating/scheduling content as and when required.

Email Marketing

• Day-to-day management of the email marketing programme, including drafting, building and managing campaigns and automations, and managing audiences.
• Work with colleagues and draw on existing data to develop insights and understanding about our supporters. Use this information to develop content which is engaging, informative, and meets supporters’ needs.
• Provide support to the Public Fundraising team for all email content, and ensuring all content aligns with wider organisational goals and principles.
• Champion email marketing best practices across the organisation, providing advice and feedback to improve email engagement and effectiveness.
