About the role

STOPAIDS mobilises civil society, parliamentarians, the public and the media to influence decision-makers in the UK and globally on the advocacy impact areas outlined in our 2022-2025 strategy.

In partnership with senior leadership, the Media and Communications Manager will oversee the design and implementation of STOPAIDS' organisational-wide media and communications strategy that amplifies STOPAIDS’ impact and reputation across our key advocacy areas. As a capable team leader, the Media and Communications Manager provides expert guidance to staff and partners, is comfortable coordinating and facilitating working groups and supports the leadership of people living with and affected by HIV. They also work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that media and communications strategies are aligned and complementary with other organisational strategies and priorities.

As with all STOPAIDS staff, and in partnership with the CEO and the Director for Development & Engagement, they will work to ensure the sustainability of the organisation by contributing 10% of their time to fundraising (to support with application and report writing) and other advocacy support.

The Director role is a new opportunity working across ImpactEd Evaluation. Our partnerships encompass education organisations such as charities, edtech organisations and government, and schools and multi-academy Trusts. Across all our partnerships, we aim to design and deliver high-quality research and evaluation projects that help our partners make better decisions for children using good evidence.

As a Director, you will be a senior leader of the evaluation practice and a statutory director on our Practice Board. Reflecting this, you will have a key role in the success of the practice, both commercially and in terms of social impact, and help to shape and deliver the strategy for ImpactEd Evaluation as a practice within ImpactEd Group, reporting to the Practice Lead.

The role will be a combination of business development, oversight and support of evaluation delivery, and strategic responsibilities. You will lead a number of sales and marketing campaigns, and support the design and delivery of our product offerings within those areas, as well as other priority strategic projects. You will also lead on a small number of high-priority partner engagements directly, and play a significant role in overseeing and quality assuring partnerships led by others.

The role would be ideal for a candidate with deep understanding of research and evaluation, a track record in business development, and the ambition to shape the leadership and direction of a growing social enterprise.

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we are recruiting for a Parliamentary Officer who will develop and coordinate effective links between the Poverty Truth Network and parliamentarians, promoting a relationally-based approach to policy development and legislation.

You will be a highly motivated person with a proven track record of developing and delivering strategies to influence policy and political stakeholders to achieve change, ideally within a parliamentary or government setting.

Key Tasks

• To develop, with appropriate input from the Director and Partnership Manager, the Network’s approach to engaging with parliamentarians (Politics Alongside) in line with its values and practices 
• To ensure that Poverty Truth Commissioners are at the heart of the Network’s parliamentary engagement
• To develop and, where appropriate, establish links with UK and devolved Parliaments and governments to promote the work of the Network 
• To coordinate and help to deliver parliamentary events on behalf of the Network, including mapping topics and attendees, working with other partners as appropriate 
• To support the development of effective links with Combined Authorities and other devolved administrations
• To work closely with members of the Amplify Team to promote its groups proposals for change
• To support parliamentary engagement, including through written briefings, for the Network’s other national programmes, including Economics for All
• To work with the Communications and Learning & Evaluation Officers to promote and identify best practice to governments and parliaments
• To undertake other appropriate duties as requested by the Partnership Manager

This role involves working from home with some travel.

As a key point of contact for incoming enquiries, you proactively connect with schools and community groups, working closely with the Visitor Experience Manager and the Marketing and Communications Manager to promote our Trinity site and grow our core business. Your outreach and relationship-building efforts play a vital role in driving interest, bookings, and long-term partnerships. You also oversee the Communicator engagement calendar, coordinating rota assignments in close collaboration with the Engagement and Logistics Lead. To help enrich our programme of activities, you maintain the volunteer contact list and schedule, ensuring clear communication and timely reminders ahead of each engagement. Beyond sales and delivery coordination, you provide essential support to our Communicators by sourcing materials and ensuring our workshop and show kit boxes are well-stocked and ready for action. Your role is essential to keeping CSC running smoothly and ensuring our visitors have the best possible experience.

Are you an experienced campaigns, advocacy or policy specialist looking for a new challenge? If so, it’s an exciting time to join the team at Woodgreen to help us shape Woodgreen’s voice to ensure pets and their people are better protected and supported across the UK.  

We're looking for a Senior Campaigns and Policy Manager who will be responsible for engaging with political leaders, the media, our supporters and the wider public.  In this role you'll lead the development and delivery of our policy and campaigning work, raising awareness of key issues, building strategic relationships, and advocating for systems change that improves animal welfare and supports the bond between pets and their people.

You will build and lead a small but far-reaching team to amplify Woodgreen's voice and lead evidence-based advocacy campaigns to drive systemic change in areas such as responsible pet ownership, animal welfare legislation, and improving pet welfare. You'll represent Woodgreen externally, with the media, in government consultations, parliamentary groups, sector forums, and external networks to raise our profile and policy positions.

To be successful in this role you will need;

• Extensive experience building and maintaining strategic relationships.
• A proven track record in campaigning, policy development, advocacy or public affairs, ideally within the charity, animal welfare, or social policy sectors.
• Substantial experience and confidence with public speaking for a variety of audiences.
• Experience managing a team or leading cross-organisational advocacy or campaigns activities and working collaboratively with external partners.
• The ability to lead, motivate and support diverse projects with a range of different participants.
• An interest in animal welfare and empathy for the complex challenges facing pet owners.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, working 37.5 hours per week on a hybrid basis with the expectation that the successful applicant will work from our Godmanchester site for approximately 2 days per week dependent on business need (although the frequency of this is negotiable).

The starting salary for this position is £45,511 to £50,568 per annum, depending on experience.  This will be complemented by;

• 36 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) rising by 1 day each year to 40 days after five years

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we are recruiting for a Communications Officer who will coordinate our internal, Network-wide, and external communications. Ensuring excellent communications across the staff team, and the effective promotion of its work.

You will be a highly motivated communications specialist with a proven track record of internal and external communications. You will have excellent planning and prioritisation skills to ensure timely delivery of tasks, along with prior proven experience managing social media channels that results in an impact of campaigns and engagement. 

Key Tasks

• To create content and coordinate internal communications across the Network staff team, ensuring the effective development and implementation of appropriate channels 
• To develop and maintain a communications content calendar when and how the Network’s activity will be effectively communicated
• To coordinate communications across the wider Network, including PTCs, Regional Hubs, and partners, including through the production and dissemination of a regular digital newsletter 
• To develop, post and oversee content for the Network’s social media channels to promote the effectiveness of the Network’s approach and the impact of PTCs and commissioners 
• To establish and maintain appropriate media links to ensure that the reality of poverty, and the impact of commissioners in seeking to alleviate it, is effectively shared
• To support the Network’s parliamentary engagement and its national programmes to ensure that its work is shared impactfully 
• To provide an appropriate level of support to PTCs as they develop their social media and engage with the media appropriately
• To undertake other appropriate duties as requested by the Operations Manager
