Ambition Aspire Achieve is seeking an exceptional, values-led Chief Executive to lead our much-loved children and young people’s charity into its next chapter.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a practical, relationship-based and strongly rooted Newham charity that makes a real difference to children, young people and families facing disadvantage, vulnerability, SEND, disability or risk.
Founded in 2016 by Kevin Jenkins OBE, Ambition Aspire Achieve has grown from a small number of projects at the Terence Brown Arc in the Park into a well-established charity working across Newham. Today, AAA supports nearly 1,000 children and young people each year through its hubs, with many more reached through outreach, schools-based work and community programmes.
Our work is grounded in the belief that every child and young person should be able to enjoy their childhood, overcome barriers, build confidence and develop the skills and self-belief to achieve positive futures. We deliver a broad programme of support including after-school clubs, holiday programmes, youth clubs, SEND activities, mentoring, outdoor learning, sports, family days, residentials, detached youth work, schools-based youth safety work, community events and targeted family support.
This is an exciting and important moment in AAA’s journey. Following a period of growth, the charity is now focused on consolidation, quality and long-term sustainability. We are financially stable, well regarded and deeply rooted locally, with strong relationships across funders, schools, corporate partners, local agencies and community organisations.
The next Chief Executive will provide clear, steady and values-led leadership, working closely with the Chair and Board of Trustees. They will lead and support the staff team, strengthen organisational sustainability, maintain and develop partnerships, champion safeguarding and inclusion, and ensure children and young people remain at the heart of every decision.
As AAA does not currently have a dedicated senior fundraising post, the Chief Executive will also play a central role in securing and maintaining the income needed to sustain and develop the charity’s work. This will include trusts and foundations, statutory funding, corporate partnerships, individual donors, appeals and wider supporter engagement.
We are looking for someone who can combine strategic leadership with practical operational understanding. You may already be a Chief Executive, or you may be an experienced senior leader ready to step into your first Chief Executive role. What matters most is your ability to lead with clarity, care and resilience; build trusted relationships; secure income; uphold strong governance; and keep AAA’s values at the centre of how the charity works.
AAA’s values are Committed, Caring, Collaborative and Creative. We are looking for a leader who can live these values, promote a positive and inclusive culture, and help ensure AAA remains strong, responsive and ambitious for the children, young people and families who need us most.
This is not a turnaround role, but it is a significant leadership opportunity. The successful candidate will inherit a respected and impactful charity with strong foundations, while also leading it through a more challenging external funding environment and into its next phase of development.
To provide children and young people in the London Borough of Newham with fully inclusive experiences and opportunities to flourish.

Head of Fundraising
Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Charity
£55,000-£60,000 | Full-time, hybrid | Stanmore & Central London
Every day at RNOH, lives get rebuilt; staff at the hospital treat spinal cord injuries, bone cancer, and carry out complex joint reconstruction. We are the UK's leading specialist orthopaedic hospital, and our charity exists to fund the equipment, research, and rehabilitation that push patient care beyond what the NHS alone can offer.
Now we're looking for a Head of Fundraising who wants to build something, not just manage it.
Why now
Having recently completed a full fundraising review, the groundwork is now laid for future income growth. We have mapped donor journeys and embedded KPI and ROI reporting embedded across the team. What's missing is someone to take the baton and run.
You'll join as a major campaign is moving toward launch, backed by a completed feasibility study and serious clinical sponsorship, plus an ongoing capital appeal for the hospital's Mako robotic arm. This isn't a blank page; it's a campaign ready to be brought to life by the right person.
What we're looking for
Someone who genuinely loves philanthropy fundraising, who's energised by building relationships with major donors, not just managing a team that does. Strategic enough to shape where the charity goes next; hands-on enough to be in the room making the ask.
You'll lead a small team of four, working closely with the CEO as part of the Senior Management Team, and operate in a genuinely collaborative partnership with the hospital. You'll be comfortable navigating complex internal stakeholder relationships, influencing senior colleagues, and resilience and an entrepreneurial instinct will go a long way.
What you'll need
A track record of personally securing major gifts and building long-term donor relationships
Experience developing (not just delivering) a fundraising strategy, ideally in a small team
A good working understanding of digital and data-led fundraising; you don't need to be the expert, just know what good looks like
Resilience, tenacity, and the appetite to spot and chase opportunities rather than wait for permission
Benefits include
33 days' annual leave, including eight bank holidays
Nest pension scheme 5% employer and 5% employee
Reduced gym membership (on site gym and swimming pool)
Subsidised staff restaurant
Occupational health. Assessment of eligibility for in-house physiotherapy
Free of charge shuttlebus service between the hospital and Stanmore Underground station for both staff
Free parking onsite
How to apply
Charity People are managing this search on behalf of RNOH Charity.
In the first instance, please send your CV to Philippa at Charity People. If your profile matches what we're looking for, we'll be in touch with the full candidate pack and lots more details.
Formal application is via CV and a short supporting statement (answering three questions outlined in the candidate pack, not a cover letter) to by midday, Monday 10 August 2026.
Key dates:
Closing date: midday, Monday 10 August
First interviews: w/c 17 August (online)
Final interviews: w/c 24 August (in person)

We have an exciting opportunity for a welfare advisor based within our Legal Advice and Welfare Services (LAWS) team.
About the role
Do you want to use your extensive welfare benefits and/or asylum support experience to help torture survivors realise their welfare rights and entitlements?

You will receive, process and manage welfare referrals, and act as a point of contact on welfare issues primarily for the Manchester centre, and to a smaller degree, the Scotland Centre.
This role requires careful and sensitive delivery of complex welfare information and advice, often to very vulnerable clients. You must have in- depth knowledge of the welfare rights and benefits available to asylum seekers and/or refugees. This may include completing Section 4 applications, or appealing negative benefits decisions on health or vulnerability grounds.
About you

Experience of working within a similar role providing advocacy on a range of welfare issues to include housing, welfare benefits and Asylum Support
Extensive experience of working within the benefits system, including the application, assessment and appeals procedures
Experience working with refugees and asylum seekers and an understanding of the needs of this group and the associated support services and mechanisms available
Experience of liaising with external agencies and government bodies to ensure that service users are given access to their available welfare rights and entitlements.
At interview you will need to demonstrate your ability to identify welfare needs and provide appropriate advice and recommendations. You will be given a case study to work through and you will be asked to share your analysis and plan with us.

Freedom from Torture is committed to showing the salary for all advertised roles and not negotiating salaries for roles, in light of evidence that this contributes to structural inequality.
Our policy is that all appointments will be at the start of the salary range but successful candidates will have the opportunity to move up the scale over time. The progression up the salary range is reviewed on an annual basis and subject to affordability. For this role, the salary range is £34,220 - £39,696.
