Business Development Officer – London, South East and East of England
Role purpose:
- Retain and grow relationships with existing centres through tailored engagement strategies that drive programme registrations and increase impact.
- Identify and convert new opportunities through proactive outreach, lead generation, and effective nurture tactics to deliver new business income.

Key responsibilities:
Retain and grow existing centre relationships
- Manage a portfolio of existing centres, ensuring regular and meaningful engagement aligned to their needs, delivery patterns, and growth potential.
- Deliver against annual centre income targets by supporting centres to continue and expand programme delivery.
- Develop and implement tailored engagement plans that reflect sector priorities, sector and programme maturity, and centre feedback.
- Analyse Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards to identify retention risks, spot growth opportunities, and respond to trends with proactive support.
- Coordinate requalification conversations and re-engagement activity to sustain long-term partnerships.
Generate and convert new business
- Identify and research high-potential leads across your allocated sectors (e.g., secondary, FE, community) using BI and CRM insights, sector intelligence, and marketing-generated activity.
- Plan and deliver proactive outreach activity via a Sector Development Plans.
- Build and maintain a personal pipeline of prospects and log progress regularly updating conversion insight and forecasts.
- Support new centre onboarding, from initial conversations through to registration and early delivery support.
- Collaborate with Marketing on lead nurture campaigns, sales funnel activities, and content that targets sector-specific priorities.
Deliver outstanding customer experience
- Serve as a primary point of contact for your centres, responding promptly and professionally to queries, issues, and feedback.

- Maintain consistent and accurate records of communications, registrations, and engagement history.
- Support customer feedback collection and contribute to the analysis of satisfaction and improvement opportunities.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as an Individual Giving Officer developing and delivering our individual giving programme for regular giver, and cash donors.
An exciting and varied role, as the Individual Giving Officer, you will focus on the development of fundraising copy and creative, to thank donors, and to ask donors.This role will develop and deliver fundraising appeals, factoring in historic performance, testing and working with external agencies.

About you

Communications Officer
We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Officer to help raise the charity’s profile across multiple communications channels and build supporter engagement with corporate and individual supporters, and with charity partners.
This is a remote working role.
Position: Communications Officer
Location: Remote/London
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £28,000-£30,000
Contract: 12-month FTC
Benefits Include: 25 days per year (pro rata – excluding bank holidays), employer pension contribution of 5% into a personal pension (which does not have to be matched by the employee)

About the Role
This role is focused on delivering established communications strategies and plans over a 12-month fixed-term period. There is scope for the Communications Officer to work autonomously and creatively across teams, helping deliver engaging content and campaigns. You will also play an exciting role in rolling out the organisations refreshed brand.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and deliver content and copy for digital channels, including social media, email communications and the website.
- Deliver against existing, and develop own, content plans to enhance these channels, expanding reach, and strengthening brand awareness and recognition.
- Create bespoke materials to engage key corporate partners and engagement communities as part of a wider supporter journey, including bespoke projects.
- Produce and deliver content for events marketing plans across paid, earned, shared, and owned channels in collaboration with internal teams.
- Oversee the community management social channels.
- Work with the Programmes and Impact team to manage the case story gathering process across charity partners, creating resources like blogs, video content and creative assets to educate and inspire.
- Support and coach the wider team to adopt digital solutions across internal and external channels, using data and analytics to make recommendations for improvements, including support for the Leadership Team’s personal communications, providing guidance for the most effective use.
- Support with monitoring, and evaluating communications outputs, using data, analytics and learnings to grow digital channels and supporting audiences.
- Ensure brand guidelines adhered to in all external communications produced by third parties.
About You
With experience working in a similar role, preferably within the charity or property sector, you will also have experience of devising and developing audience focused content ideas across multiple communications channels
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience of producing content - including photography and video led creative - with copy for digital platforms including web, content management systems, social and email communications
- Experience of managing and producing story-led content.
- Experience of social media and community management
- Experience of paid social media and using Google Analytics
- Experience of managing and delivering projects on time with multiple stakeholder involvement
- Experience of managing a diverse workload and of supporting colleagues

Job Purpose
To plan, deliver, and evaluate a diverse range of fundraising events, while developing and enhancing the existing annual events portfolio in line with agreed income and expenditure targets. The role is key to generating vital income and raising awareness for Salisbury Hospice, while contributing to the events marketing and communications strategy to increase supporter engagement, secure sponsorship opportunities, and enhance public awareness of the charity.
Key Responsibilities
Events Fundraising
- Develop and deliver the annual income target with the Director of Fundraising & Marketing.
- Plan and deliver a diverse programme of fundraising events (e.g., community events, challenge events, gala dinners, seasonal campaigns).
- Work with colleagues and volunteers to ensure events are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
- Develop event plans including logistics, budgets, risk assessments, and contingency planning.
- Secure sponsorship, in-kind support and partnerships to maximise income and reduce costs.
- Recruit, brief and manage volunteers and event-day staff.
- Track event income and expenditure, providing regular reports to the Fundraising Manager.

Marketing and Promotion
- In partnership with the marketing team, develop and implement marketing campaigns for fundraising events across digital, print and media platforms.
- Work closely with the communications team to develop engaging content, including press releases, social media posts, website updates, and email marketing.
- Build relationships with local media and community groups to maximise event exposure. Distribute event marketing materials across the local community.
Supporter Engagement and Stewardship
- Deliver exceptional supporter care, ensuring all event participants, donors, sponsors and volunteers feel valued and informed.
- Develop supporter journeys and post-event stewardship communications to encourage long-term engagement.
- Maintain accurate supporter records on the CRM database and comply with GDPR and data protection policies.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Proven, extensive experience in planning and delivering successful fundraising or public events.
- Demonstrated success in generating income while effectively managing budgets.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Women Transport Workers and Gender Equality Officer will play a fundamental role in leading and developing strategies on organising and increasing collective bargaining and leverage for women transport workers, on behalf of the ITF.
At the direction of the General Secretary and Executive Board, the Women Transport Workers and Gender Equality Officer will be responsible for leading the ITF’s Gender and Equality Programme. The role will be focused on developing leading campaign strategies to organise women workers and increase the capacity of our affiliates in this area. It will strategically engage with ITF affiliates, donor organisations and other relevant stakeholders to deliver projects globally, which includes managing relationships with multinationals to improve the state of gender and equality matters across transport supply chains.
This role will have accountability for the management of relevant staff of the Women’s Department, as well as budgeting and planning for all development initiatives.

The Direct Marketing Manager has operational and strategic responsibility in developing and implementing the Islamic Relief UK direct marketing programme.
