Worldwide Veterinary Service is searching for a People and Policy Officer to support the growth of our charity.
This is an ideal role for an experienced administrator who wants to help make lasting improvements to the lives of animals around the world.
Reporting to the Director of Policy at global animal welfare charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), you will support development and implementation of the charity’s processes and policies. This role combines different areas of internal policy, risk management and governance support, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people to improve systems and deliver tangible results. We are growing and we need your help to maintain a dynamic culture that encourages innovation, is an exciting and rewarding place to work and delivers the biggest possible impact for the animals that we help.

About Us
At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.
We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands. We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world.
Last year, WVS treated over 103,000 animals, trained over 2,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,042 parcels of veterinary supplies to 231 charities in 65 countries. Over 1.2 m dogs were vaccinated against rabies last year as part of our Mission Rabies campaign.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Policy and Governance
- Assist with organisation of trustee meetings.
- Maintain up-to-date records of policies, procedures, and statutory documentation.
- Support compliance with Charity Commission requirements.
- Coordinate risk management processes, policy reviews and ensure timely updates and dissemination.
- Work closely with colleagues to provide technical advice and ease the implementation of policies at WVS projects around the world.
- Support audits in the UK and of international affiliates.
- Liaise with trustees and external partners to support governance processes.
People
- Support recruitment processes across teams including advertising, and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate and confidential staff and volunteer records in line with GDPR.
- Support uniform induction for staff and volunteers to maintain culture during a period of rapid growth.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 2 + years’ experience in HR or governance administration.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.

The Sporting Events Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals taking on sporting challenges and effectively managing relationships to maximise income.
As Sporting Events Administrator, you will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. You will work closely with the Sporting Event Managers (SEM) and Sporting Event Officers (SEO) to drive the continued growth of the charity’s sporting event fundraising income. You will also be required to show excellent organisation and relationship-building skills to support supporters.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Provide excellent customer service to Sporting Event fundraisers, to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.
· Ensure fundraisers and volunteers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.
· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.
· Effective management of administrative support for team, including accurate recording of sporting fundraising data in the Salesforce database.
Event and Supporter Management
· Support the team in managing the sporting events as agreed with the Sporting Events Manager (SEM). Including recruitment of sporting places, recruitment of volunteers, communications plans, event marketing and event attendance.
· Working alongside the SEM and the SEO to manage the stewardship of all supporters.
· Build and manage relationships with prospective and current sporting fundraising supporters through prompt, helpful, professional and friendly contact.
· Taking the opportunity to maximise income and long-term support with every fundraising supporter, suggesting ARUK fundraising products where appropriate.
· Schedule and deliver stewardship good luck calls for all portfolio sporting eventers.
· Drafting prompt, professional thank you letters and certificates to fundraising supporters.
· Fundraising data management includes adding new constituents to the fundraising database (Salesforce), ensuring details are accurately recorded and maintained and that supporters are appropriately thanked.
· Manage external lead generation platforms (e.g., Let's Do This) to identify, contact, and convert potential participants into supporters, ensuring consistent and timely engagement.
· Managing emails sent to sporting events inbox.
Events Support
· Support in the effective delivery of sporting fundraising events for ARUK.
· May include relationship management with Third-Party event providers.
· Attendance of weekend events where necessary.

Additional Information:

At Unifrog, we partner with universities and employers to help them connect with our global network of highly engaged students, teachers and careers leaders.

The role and responsibilities
As New Business Lead for Employer and HE Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in driving Unifrog’s growth in our employer and higher education markets.
