Job description

About Islington Giving and Cripplegate Foundation

Islington Giving is a coalition bringing together residents, businesses, funders and community organisations to tackle poverty and inequality in Islington.

Islington Giving operates as a restricted fund within Cripplegate Foundation, an independent charitable foundation with a long history of supporting communities in Islington and the neighbouring area of the City of London. Together, Cripplegate Foundation and Islington Giving distribute approximately £2.3 million in grants each year, while using our funding, networks, knowledge and convening power to tackle the root causes of poverty and inequality.

Purpose of role:

The Individual Giving Manager will manage and develop Islington Giving's individual giving programme, helping to grow income, strengthen donor relationships and expand our community of supporters.

We are at an exciting point in the development of individual giving. We have a loyal and engaged base of local supporters, and recent donor research has given us valuable new insights into what motivates our donors and how we can deepen their engagement. We believe there is potential to significantly grow this income stream over the coming years.

The postholder will lead on a programme of donor acquisition, stewardship, appeals and supporter communications. You will use data, insight and creativity to improve donor experience and grow long-term supporter value.

As a place-based charity, we have an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with supporters who care about Islington and want to make a difference locally. Alongside delivering strong fundraising campaigns and supporter journeys, the role includes opportunities to meet donors, organise local events and bring powerful local stories to life.

As a member of a small and collaborative team you will work closely with our Digital Communications Manager, who leads on digital communications channels; supporting the Director of Development & Communications with major donor stewardship; and working with our Senior Partnership Manager to engage supporters connected to our corporate partners.

We are currently recruiting to the role of Senior Partnership Manager in tandem with this vacancy, as we expand the size of the fundraising team.

Please see the attached Recruitment Pack for the full job description.

Deadline for applications: Sunday 1st November
