Salary: Grade D - £30,806 FTE
Location: Oasis Space South Grimsby, with delivery across education and community settings in Grimsby

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Youth and Community Lead to develop and deliver high-quality youth and community work across South Grimsby. This exciting role will lead the development of the Bike Barn Project, using bike maintenance and practical learning as a powerful tool to engage young people, build confidence, improve wellbeing and create positive pathways into education, employment and training.

Working alongside schools, families, community partners and Oasis colleagues, you will help young people overcome barriers, build aspirations and access the support they need to thrive. While an interest in cycling and practical learning is important, you do not need to be a qualified bike mechanic. Oasis will provide funded training and ongoing support to develop the technical skills required for the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging youth work programmes that promote belonging, wellbeing, confidence and personal development.
• Build positive, professional relationships with children and young people, including those facing challenges or barriers to success.
• Lead the development and delivery of the Bike Barn Project across community and educational settings.
• Teach basic bike maintenance and repair activities following appropriate training and safety guidance.
• Work with schools and community partners to identify needs and provide targeted support and intervention.
• Support young people to develop leadership skills, volunteer opportunities and positive progression routes.
• Build strong relationships with families and make appropriate referrals to wider support services when needed.
• Promote environmental sustainability through bike refurbishment, reuse and recycling initiatives.
• Oversee project budgets, resources, tools and equipment.
• Identify funding opportunities and contribute to successful grant applications and reporting.
• Ensure all safeguarding, health and safety, risk assessment and data recording requirements are met.
• Be a visible and positive presence within the South Grimsby community and actively promote the Oasis ethos.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Experience of working with children and young people and building positive, professional relationships.
• Experience delivering engaging, inclusive activities that support personal development and wellbeing.
• Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding principles and commitment to best practice.
• An interest in cycling, practical learning, sustainability and community development.
• The ability to work collaboratively with schools, families, volunteers and partner organisations.
• Experience of project coordination, funding applications or community development would be advantageous.
• A commitment to inclusion, equality, hope, perseverance and the Oasis ethos.
