About the role:

We are looking for a Caseworker, to cover Wyre Fylde Lancaster and surrounding areas. You will be working primarily in targeted schools across your area and therefore this role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. The role will primarily be 121 bespoke Casework to meet the specific needs of our Service Users. There will also be some group work, which will include;

• Delivering Recovery Toolkit to young people in small groups within senior schools and some year six. (8 Groups per week).
• Completing assessments with young people, identifying and addressing and safeguarding concerns.
• Proactively targeting new schools to engage with the service in delivering group interventions.
• Responsible for case management, report writing, outcomes recording and collecting other data.

You will need: -

• Considerable experience of working with children and young people, experience of delivering groups would be advantageous.
• You will have a thorough understanding of the impact of Domestic Abuse on children and young people.
• Experience of risk assessment and case management.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Housing Support Worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children living in our dispersed refuge accommodation in Warwickshire.

You will be forming a team that makes up the Warwickshire Dispersed Safe Accommodation service. This service will provide emergency safe accommodation across Warwickshire with high-quality domestic abuse support, ‘by-and-for’ services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children.

Housing Support Workers will work closely with the Floating Support Workers and Child Support Workers (who provide the personal support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children) to ensure that the emergency accommodation and support meets the whole range of survivors’ needs.

The post holder will be responsible for the Health and Safety and maintenance of emergency safe accommodation units in multiple 1–3-bedroom properties across Warwickshire. This will include the practical set up and maintenance of home furnishings and utilities in each property and the management of the cleaning and replacements required between each use of the accommodation unit.

The post holder will provide support to survivors fleeing domestic abuse around accessing housing benefit for the dispersed accommodation and support survivors with exploring and accessing move on accommodation.

The Housing Support Worker (HSW) will be responsible for ensuring that the properties will maintain Refuge’s accommodation standards and comply with all Health and Safety legislation and requirements

Housing Support Workers will work in partnership with both statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure that the properties are managed to a high standard and ensure a welcoming approach to all survivors and their children.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

The Charity:

 Aphasia Support is a passionate, community-centred charity. Our mission is to improve the wellbeing of people with Aphasia and their carers by providing tailored speech and language therapy and long-term support. We want to create a world where every person with Aphasia has access to support and can communicate with confidence. 

The charity currently has 4 staff members (Chief Executive, Fundraising & Communications Manager, Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, Administrator) and 8 Speech and Language Therapists working for the charity on a sessional basis. The sessional workers oversee our 1to1 support and aphasia cafes. The charity has over 60 volunteers who provide the 1to1 support and help run our aphasia cafes.

The Role:

Aphasia Support is looking to recruit a Community Engagement & Volunteer Officer who will work with the charity’s speech and language therapy team and volunteers in West Yorkshire, Harrogate and Barnsley to ensure our support reaches the people who need it most. 

We envisage this to be a split role: 

• 3 days focused on ensuring people in West Yorkshire, Harrogate and Barnsley receive timely support through the charity's community-based Aphasia Cafe's and at-home 1:1 speech and language therapy service.

• 2 days focused on overseeing the charity's volunteer recruitment and retention programme, ensuring Aphasia Support's valued volunteers receive the best possible experience, utilising their time and resource to create the biggest impact.

Main duties will include: 

·Processing of new referrals into the charity alongside the current SLT Assistant. Contacting new referrals and outlining the charity’s 1to1 support and aphasia café support offer and completing initial referral paperwork via phone and email.

· Gaining a thorough understanding of the speech and language therapy apps used by the charity and supported conversation techniques. You will work towards being the resident expert on the speech and language therapy apps used by the charity.

· Matching people with aphasia with volunteers for our 1to1 support service within West Yorkshire, Harrogate and Barnsley.

· Completing initial appointments in the client’s home alongside volunteers. Taking speech and language therapy assessments and turning them into clear therapy plans that can be delivered confidently by the volunteers.

· Provide ongoing advice and support to volunteers and clients.

· Provide home based 1to1 support for clients, if required.

• Leading on volunteer recruitment for all areas of the charity by liaising with the charity’s Fundraising & Communications Manager alongside branch committees, volunteer centres, universities, colleges and NHS volunteering teams.

· Screening of new volunteers and administering of reference and DBS checks.

· Leading on the charity’s quarterly volunteer inductions.

· On occasion supporting the charity’s event fundraising calendar which will require some evening work.

· If required, supporting the running of the charity’s aphasia cafes.

· Completing other tasks which are commensurate with the role

Person Specification

Essential

· Good general level of education or equivalent work-based experience

· Excellent organisational skills and time management skills.

· Good administrative and record keeping skills including strong attention to detail.

· Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully both verbally and in writing

· Good technical literacy of Microsoft Applications e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

· Experience working with CRM databases, and maintaining accurate records

· Highly confident user of technology, specifically iPads, with a willingness to learn about speech and language therapy apps.

Flexible, between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and/or evening work required. Part-time (minimum 30 hours) will be considered.

About this key role

Your role will be to provide young person centred holistic support – including everything from helping clients to understand their own behaviour and its consequences, and promoting change, to helping clients’ families to support them and providing practical help with attending appointments, education, training and employment options, housing, benefits, debt and other aspects of day-to-day living. 

Working flexibly within the community and within identified office spaces within London (opportunities for home working will be minimal within this role), you’ll be building effective and engaging relationships with young people involved in or at risk of being involved in the criminal justice system, with the aim of improving their life chances. You’ll conduct robust risk assessments and strengths-based needs assessments, with safeguarding as the priority, and ensure that all young people work towards an agreed support plan which is regularly reviewed and adapted. What we are looking for

• Significant experience of working with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults and delivering interventions that have had a positive impact – preferably in a health and wellbeing context and/or on an offender led support project.

• Experience of providing support, advice and advocacy, with the ability to assess clients’ needs. 

• Extensive experience of managing complex safeguarding issues with children, young people and adults who are at risk of violence or exploitation, whilst working alone.

• Understanding of the physical, social, emotional and developmental needs of children and young people, their specific needs as they transition to legal adulthood, and the issues they face, e.g. exploitation, victimisation, offending, school exclusion, unemployment, trauma.

• Extensive knowledge of the impact of context – with a clear understanding of best practice around contextual safeguarding and those experiencing harm outside the home.

• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice in the context of working with children, young people and parents/carers impacted by violence and exploitation, and of how trauma –including from their own lives – can impact on how practitioners manage cases.

• Working knowledge of child protection and safeguarding legislation/policy, with experience of providing support, advice and advocacy to staff with a safeguarding responsibility.

• Understanding of the importance of good quality case recording quality assurance principles. 

• Ability to use electronic case management systems to record all aspects of the role, including action plans, outcomes and session data on a day-to-day basis.

• Recognition of the importance of resilience in coping with the emotional demands of the role and demonstrable experience of managing your own wellbeing.

• Relevant qualification to a good standard or equivalent experience – ideally with relevant accredited training such as safeguarding, counselling or mental health first aid.

We are seeking to recruit a caring and dynamic experienced senior manager and practitioner to manage our services across Greater Manchester and Cumbria.  This role covers a range of services including supported living for people with a learning disability, supported housing for people with mental health needs, Older Adults Care Home and Extra Care services. You will be responsible for managing the Registered Managers across a variety of services within these regions ensuring the quality of service delivery.

Applicant must have a strategic mind set and experience of leading and managing change in addition to strong leadership, communication and influencing skills

 

The role also involves the management of the different contractual arrangements with a number of Local Authorities, ensuring contract compliance with KPI’s and quality standards. You will ensure that services are delivered in line with Creative Supports ethos, values and quality standards. The role also involves ensuring an open culture across all services, developing a framework for learning and continuous improvement.

This role also includes the management of wider staff teams ensuring that sufficient staff are recruited, inducted and trained and consistent teams are developed. You will also be responsible for the management of service budgets and resources ensuring these are deployed and used as efficiently as possible and in a person centred way to enable positive outcomes to be achieved for individual service users. You will also work closely with statutory services, housing providers and other key stakeholders, developing excellent positive and mutually respectful relationships. 

The role will include extensive travel and regular overnight stays in Carlisle. A car driver is essential as is the ability to be flexible and resilient.

 

The role also involves attending key meetings such as contract monitoring with the commissioners, assisting the Registered Manager with reports and action plans. Leading on Social care governance meetings locally and seeking ways to ensure the services continue to improve and innovate.

You will also contribute corporately through attendance at senior managers meetings, contributing to training, quality development, conferences, and corporate events.

You will be fully supported in role by the Service Director for these service areas and through our network of senior Managers who meet to share good practice and discuss issues raised through CQC inspections. Working Hours

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke.

Position: S11233 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Durham. However, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Salary: £19,596 per annum (FTE £27,400 per annum)

Hours: Part-time, 25 hours per week

Contract: Permanent. However, services are contracted and there is currently funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

ECHO supports children and young people with heart conditions and their families, who have been treated within the Guy's and St Thomas' NHS network of 47 hospitals. Congenital heart disease is the most common birth defect and affects just under 1 in every 100 babies born throughout the UK.

ECHO helps from diagnosis, which is often during pregnancy, throughout any treatment and care pathway or bereavement. Families are supported at every stage of their heart child’s journey throughout childhood, teenage years and during the transition to adult services.

ECHO’s new Engagement Coordinator will be confident, self-motivated, and capable of managing projects independently. They will be responsible for building strong relationships with stakeholders, coordinating engagement activities, and ensuring these are executed successfully.
