The Role

 

As a qualified Careers Adviser, you will be responsible for the daily delivery of Careers Information, Advice, and Guidance to adults on a range of opportunities, including learning, career paths and employment.

As a Careers Adviser you will use your experience of working with people within the community from a variety of backgrounds using various methodologies to empower customers as they seek to overcome barriers to progression and make informed career decisions about their futures.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate their abilities to achieve their goals on an outcome-based contract supporting others to achieve their goals. You will be organised, flexible in your abilities to support the needs of the charity.

From time to time, you will be required to attend CXK Head Office (Ashford, Kent) for meetings, events and other organisational activities.

Minimum Criteria

 

· IAG qualification at Level 4 or above

· A commitment to undertake all necessary training for the role including Career Progression Development (CDP) as directed

· Education to at least A level standard (or equivalent)

Essential Criteria

· Experience of working towards and achieving targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) with regular reviews, to meet the delivery needs of the charity

· Experience of direct work with face-to-face collaboration with people in a formal or informal setting 

· Experience of Microsoft products and ability to use them effectively, including Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Teams, and use of PowerPoint

· Experience of working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds

· Ability to build effective and professional relationships with partner agencies and organisations

· Efficient data inputting skills that show an attention to detail and an understanding of the impact of this work

· An awareness of the issues affecting people, particularly the impact of social and economic disadvantage on personal motivation, confidence, and ability to progress through education, employment, and training

· Full UK drivers’ licence and use of own vehicle for work purposes to travel across county to support the charity needs as directed by the Area Manager

About the role

Fareham and Gosport Wellbeing service is looking to recruit a Wellbeing Advisor PCN. You will be based in the PCN surgeries in the Fareham and Gosport Localities.

In this role, you will hold a caseload of patients offering assessments and one-to-one telephone or online sessions to help manage mental health wellbeing. You will attend meetings to enable patients to get the best service for them and may on occasion include group facilitation. You will support people to access groups and activities within our wellbeing centre and the community.

Our expert team of canine behaviourists provide behavioural support and advice to teams within Battersea, members of the public, and the rescue organisations we work with around the world. The team design and help implement behaviour modification and training plans for dogs whilst coaching members of the canine care groups through the practical day-to-day steps. We are now looking to recruit a Canine Behaviour and Training Advisor for our team in London. Within this role, you will work with our operational teams in the assessment and welfare of the dogs in our care and in the provision of behavioural training and advice for staff, volunteers, customers and external organisations. You will be working as part of a care group to create behaviour modification plans, support with handling difficult dogs and make recommendations, along with the individual care group, for individual dog outcomes.

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis (CF). We fund vital research, improve care, speak out and race towards effective treatments for all. Cystic Fibrosis Trust is here to make sure everyone with cystic fibrosis can live without limits.
 
This role is part of the Work Forwards programme which is our programme of employment support, offering information, signposting, and practical support to people with CF. We help people affected by CF pursue their career aspirations and move towards secure fulfilling employment.  

In this role, you will support a caseload of people with cystic fibrosis, building their confidence and empowering them to secure and retain employment that helps them lead a fulfilling life. You’ll work with each client to understand their skills, aspirations, work experience and build their confidence in tackling the challenges they perceive/have experienced in employment due to their cystic fibrosis. Through supportive delivery of information, advice and guidance, you’ll ensure people with CF can access the support they need to achieve their ambitions and make sure their work fits around their health.  
 
You will also get involved with the programme’s wider activities, including supporting the development of new resources, getting involved in the planning and delivery of online sessions, videos and webinars, and making sure we can share and celebrate the stories of people with CF in a wide range of jobs and careers. You’ll also play a key role in supporting the Helen Barrett Bright Ideas Awards, our programme to support people with cystic fibrosis in self-employment. 
 
This is a varied and interesting role, with the opportunity to make a real difference to people affected by cystic fibrosis and to continue to shape a broad, innovative programme of work.
 
To be the right candidate for this role, you will:

• Have proven experience of delivering advice and guidance around careers, work and employment
• Be experienced in providing one to one support or coaching to positively influence other people’s professional or personal development 
• Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating this in practice
• Have experience of data recording for programme activities including case management and monitoring and evaluation
• Have good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
• While lived experience of cystic fibrosis isn't essential for this role, it would be a distinct advantage

About the role:

This role is based between our Northern Hampshire office in Basingstoke and from home on a hybrid basis. You will be working shifts Monday to Friday between either 8am and 4pm, 10am and 6pm or 12pm and 8pm. You will also be required to work a minimum of 1 Saturday per month 8am to 4pm where you will receive a day off in lieu during the week. Shifts are designated on a rota basis which is given in advance.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional individual to join our team of six Strategic Partnership Advisors across England. In this role, you will support key partners, including Active Partnerships, National Governing Bodies of Sport, local authorities, and leisure providers to become more effective in their role of enabling more disabled people to be active.

You will possess a strong understanding of the sport and activity sector, including its operations, and be able to advocate for improvements that help more disabled people become active. Additionally, you will be aware of the broader systems and barriers that disabled people encounter in sports and activities, as well as organisations such as disabled people’s user-led organisations and various charities, to build relationships and foster effective cross-sector partnerships.

We are looking for an individual with experience of working strategically at a place based and/or locality level within the South West region. Someone who can positively influence local developments, systems and investments to tackle the inequalities disabled people face in sport and activity through inclusive practice.

The successful candidate will work remotely from home and be based in the South West region. This role will involve travel across the region and occasional travel to our Loughborough and Manchester offices.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen Christian Aid's work on Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, a strategic organisational priority, to increase the impact of our work, strengthen and support the delivery of our Peacebuilding and conflict Prevention Global Strategy. To promote learning, provide technical support to programme teams, driving conflict sensitivity, addressing the root causes and drivers of conflict, violence and GBV, and enhancing practice on peacebuilding and conflict prevention, working with Christian Aid's teams in 29 countries across in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe.

You will work as a part of the team shaping and developing Christian Aid's global work on peacebuilding and conflict prevention. The role sits in Christian Aid Ireland (CAI) the organisational / global lead on Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention. The post-holder reports to the Head of Unit, based in the International Department in Christian Aid (CA).

The purpose and direction of the post will be driven by Christian Aid's Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Global Strategy. This includes strategic priority areas on conflict sensitivity, peacebuilding, conflict prevention, gender equality and the reduction of gender based violence (GBV). This role will support delivery of the strategy, in areas of programmes, policy and programme quality, including but not limited to humanitarian settings or complex protracted conflicts.

The role combines direct technical support; programme development; facilitation of learning and mutual support between programmes; and development of good practice and guidance resources based on both internal experience and external learning. The role will provide technical expertise, will capture learning, and build on Christian Aid's experience delivering peacebuilding work supported by donors such as the EU, Irish Aid, UK FCDO, UN Peacebuilding Fund and USAID, and others, to build sustainable peace.

Overseas travel is required for programme monitoring and support. The role will provide regular briefings and guidance for programme staff to develop the the focus on Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, providing strategic input to key decision-making bodies, engaging advisor groups and working with the International Division of Christian Aid.

As well as implementing programmes on peacebuilding, conflict transformation, conflict resolution, protection and human rights, Christian Aid has a strong track record of advocacy, tackling factors that drive fragility and exclusion. The role involves working with both programme and policy teams across the organisation and engaging in advocacy with relevant Irish and European audiences as required. -Experience of international programme work on peacebuilding, GBV, conflict sensitivity / conflict analysis

-Familiarity with programme cycle management tools and methods

-Ability to apply analysis of conflict / power / gender to programme design

-Excellent facilitation skills, and ability to promote critical thinking and reflection

-Experience providing training, technical support and/or advice

-Creative thinking and track record of promoting innovation

-Track record of promoting organisational learning

-Experience developing proposals, analysing technical strategies for implementation.
