Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Are you passionate about improving support for families affected by substance misuse?

This could be the perfect role for you! The Family Support Worker is an exciting role within a growing and dynamic team, where you can help to make a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers in Lambeth. 

Having identified a gap in the identification of young carers and adult carers looking after someone with substance misuse issues, over the past year we have successfully piloted a project to identify and provide long-term support to these carers. We are now entering the second year of the project, and are looking for a new Family Support Worker to bring their expertise, enthuasism and ideas to the next stage of the project. 

The Family Support Worker will work across our Young Carers and Adult Carers Service to provide support to families affected by substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. The successful candidate will have an understanding of working within the substance misuse field and an understanding of associated health and social issues. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers, completing statutory and holistic assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need. Summary of Role

An opportunity has arisen for a lead Support worker to work within our Sanctuary crisis intervention and prevention service, based in Fore Street in Enfield. We act as a short-term A&E and Emergency services alternative, providing support to individuals in the Enfield Borough aged 18+. 

This role is to provide leadership and support to the Sanctuary team on shift. The role will:

• Lead shifts during the week, providing support to team members via case management support, escalation, Health and Safety guidance
• Support the Sanctuary Manager to embed processes within the service, and ensure that these are carried out
• Work alongside the Manager and team to ensure that the service is operating to high quality standard.
• Provide support in times of emotional distress for clients. The support worker will provide a calm, supportive presence.

 The role will support clients through co-producing support plans with practical and therapeutic support offerings, as well as contributing to the development of a warm welcoming environment and ‘safe space’ to be.

This position would suit someone with a minimum of 2 years experience of working with people with mild, moderate and severe mental health issues.

Age UK Camden Dementia Wellbeing Service is looking to recruit a Dementia Wellbeing Worker to join their team working 35 hours per week on a permanent basis. 

The Dementia Wellbeing Service is part of our specialist dementia services and works closely with the Dementia Befriending Service.

The service supports Camden residents over the age of 55 in the early or moderate stages of dementia, to live independently and safely at home for as long as possible, stay socially engaged and carry on doing what they love.

Summary of Role

Working under the direction of our Centre Managers at Arc in the Park and Abbey Hub, Support Workers are key to

ensuring the successful delivery of our provision for children and young people. Working with children and young

people in group settings, the role will support the delivery of our play and youth projects and activities to aid their

development.

Responsibilities

● Providing for the social, personal, educational and leisure needs of children and young people by assisting in

the running, organisation and delivery of particular projects.

● Establishing positive relationships with all children and young people supporting and enabling them to

increase their confidence and realise their potential, fully integrating them into all project activities.

● Coordinating resources and to develop opportunities for children and young people which reflects their

particular needs and circumstances.

● Facilitating the active involvement of the children and young people in the planning and development of the

project programme.

● Facilitating the positive integration of children and young people with behavioural difficulties and/or

additional needs within the project.

● Supporting and guiding volunteers, trainees and junior leaders in all of the above, as required.

● Working as a member of the AAA team to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and young people

being supervised including day to day 'housekeeping' of the site and maintenance of equipment.

● Liaising with parents, carers and other organisations and professionals as required.

● Adapting activities to meet a child's/young person’s needs as appropriate.

● Carrying out health and safety inspections as required.

● Adhering to AAA policies and procedures in respect of safeguarding children and young people.

● Administering medication, if appropriate training successfully completed.
