About the role:
This role is based in Maritime House, Barking.
As a Triage IVA you will take the lead contacting clients immediately after a crime has occurred, completing initial needs and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic. You will provide information of support services, and tools. You will provide immediate and short term intervention to clients.
You will need a proven track record of working in an outcomes focused service, The ability to manage a demanding workload and to meet a range of conflicting deadlines and Strong written and verbal communication skills particularly focused on telephone skills and the IT skills necessary to use a database and undertake all administrative and reporting requirements.

The Role
As a Legal Access Caseworker, you’ll focus on providing outstanding support to your clients throughout the complex asylum process.
In this busy, hands-on role, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the function of the UK asylum system so we can provide the highest standards of service to those who need us most. Responsibilities:
- Attend induction, ongoing training and keep up to date with resources and procedure to ensure you can carry out the role effectively and efficiently.
- Able to work independently and manage your time effectively, sometimes working to tight deadlines

- Supporting asylum seekers to access legal aid lawyers, ensuring they understand the process and are informed so that they can make their own choices

About the role:
The post is full time, Mon-Fri 9-5 although there will be a need for flexibility. The post is initially offered fixed term until March 2023 but may be extended depending on funding. This post is home-based but some travel around the Cumbria area may be required.

This person will be home based (ideally in the North Yorkshire and North East area) travelling extensively around the region to provide face to face support to veterans within their home locations and partner organisations premises.

Specific Responsibilities
Engagement
- Support the National Nova Manager to create and maintain strong working relationships with referring organisations in North Yorkshire and North East Area, including the Police and NHS Liaison and Diversion.
- Receive details of referrals from the Nova Client Advisors, or directly. If referrals are received directly share information with the Nova Client Advisors.
- Engage with veterans face-to-face for the initial visit and as necessary throughout their engagement with Project Nova, following the Case Management Guidance, RFEA Policies and the Project Nova Procedures.
- Register each Nova Veteran’s details on the CRM and obtain consent to share their data with organisations in the support network and any further information required by the Project Nova registration.
- Undertake a comprehensive needs assessment with each Nova Veteran.
Case Management
- Provide emotional support to veterans through regular contact whilst they are engaged with Project Nova.
- Establish a care coordination plan with each Nova Veteran that provides for support from within RFEA and Walking with the Wounded and with the organisations in the Nova area support Network.
- Work with families to ensure their effective participation in the Criminal Justice System, with other statutory services and with the support network.
- Keep clear records for each case on the CRM.
- Record the veterans journey on Outcome Star
- Ensure confidentiality, the family is a separate case to the veteran, who is also supported by Project Nova.
- When the Nova Veteran is ready, develop their employability and suitable opportunities for employment either, directly using RFEA employability tools and working with local employers or, through the wider RFEA or Walking With The Wounded.
- Project Nova is an active intervention. Close cases once the progress of Nova Veterans has reached its full potential, identifying long term social contact, formal or informal, in every case.
Person Specification
Essential Competencies
- Highly motivated and independent, capable of working remotely across a wide geographical area.
- Resilient and able to work with individuals with complex needs and cope with the rigors that arise from working with veterans in the criminal justice system.
- Commitment to working with each veteran without prejudice and in an equitable manner, including those who are arrested for violent or sexual offences.
- Experience of working with people using a mentoring or coaching approach to engage and support the individuals we work with to change their lives.

About the role:
This role offers flexibility for home and office working with travel to appointments to meet clients, as well as outreach sessions. Office location is Earl's Court.

As our Expect Respect Caseworker, you will support an active caseload of up to six clients/families at any one time who are affected by domestic violence, CSE, CCE, Mental health, grooming and exploitation. You will complete initial needs assessments with clients and support them to develop individual action plans and regularly review to assess progress, plus carry out risk management plans with each client and their family, ensuring each family member has an age-appropriate safety plan.
We will also count on you to provide a client-led support service that responds to individual’s needs, including supporting with housing, finances, substance misuse, parenting, health and wellbeing, ETE and criminal justice, while developing and maintaining relationships with other agencies and promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment, planning and delivery process are also key elements of the role.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and committed UK immigration caseworker, IAAS or OISC Level 2 accredited, to take on the casework supervision and coordination of our Family Reunion from Europe+ project. The successful candidate will join our dedicated legal team in London and help us continue providing high quality legal advice to our clients and supervision to our volunteers from our law firm partners.
About the Family Reunion from Europe + project
The FRFE project was launched in 2021 in collaboration with 6 commercial law firm partners. Originally focusing solely on family reunion applicants in Europe, the project aimed to provide essential legal information to those directly affected by the changing family reunion landscape post-Brexit. During the first year of the project, over 200 people were given advice concerning reunion with their loved ones in the UK. Exceptional Case Funding was obtained for families who required representation, and a small number of cases were directly represented by our small team with the invaluable support of the pro bono law firm partners. In March 2022, the FRFE project was renewed for another two years, as FRFE+. We are now partnered with 8 law firms, and our remit has expanded to include those in Turkey and Libya. We have also partnered with Coram Children's Legal Centre, who are hosting a dedicated legal aid caseworker to represent our clients.
Key responsibilities
The post holder will be a member of our Legal Support team and will work closely with our project partners and volunteers to assist displaced people to reunite with their families in the UK.
Case intake and case allocation
