Job Title Director of Marketing and Communications
Reporting to Chief Executive
Working Hours 37.5 hour working week, 9:00 to 5:30 Monday to Friday to include some evening and weekend hours as required
Location Onsite at the Company office in Fitzrovia (currently 175/176 Tottenham Court Road) and surrounding local area as required to carry out the duties of the company. Flexibility for one day pw working from home.
Job Purpose
This role is a senior leadership team member and strategic lead for all corporate and consumer communications, member business engagement and marketing.
The relationship with our business community is essential to the success of The Fitzrovia Partnership (TFP) and the delivery of the organisation’s vision and it is a key part of our strategy to ensure that businesses are aware of us and the services and projects we deliver. As such you would be responsible for the delivery of member engagement.
You will lead the marketing and communications function and manage the Marcomms team, continually developing and implementing effective marketing and communications strategies clearly articulating TFP’s vision, aims, projects and services.
Finally, you will provide strategic oversight and development for:
· Member communication strategy including BID renewal communications
· Consumer communications and campaigns strategy
· Social, wellbeing, member event and training programmes
· All communications channels including newsletter, websites, social media
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Senior Leadership
· To play a role together with the CEO and the Director of Policy and Place in setting the overall vision of the organisation and ensuring delivery specifically in relation to the agreed business plan.
· Have a key role working closely with the Board and relevant sub-groups.
· To represent the organisation publicly as required, and step in for the CEO as required.
Member Engagement
· Driving, developing and ensuring implementation of the member engagement strategy.
· Ensuring effective account management contact with member businesses.
· Developing a detailed mid-term consultation and review.
- Overseeing market research and consultation such as surveys, customer questionnaires and focus groups to inform the development of plans, projects and services.
· Ensuring effective response management to enquiries from members (levy paying businesses) and stakeholders.
· Ensuring the company database is maintained as an accurate source of interactions with businesses and members, and is actively utilised to best effect.
· Ensure a programme of engagement is in place with the business community, charities and Not for Profit organisations to develop outreach projects including volunteer days and CSR activities for our business members.
Strategy and oversight
· Developing and ensuring implementation of an effective Marketing and Communications strategy aligned to business goals.
· Producing an Annual Marketing and Communications Plan to implement the strategy effectively communicating and supporting our vision, projects and services.
· Developing and ensuring implementation of communication, marketing and activity strategies to deliver the aspirations of new work streams.
· Continual building of insights from businesses on their specific needs and requirements.
· Advising the Senior Leadership Team on brand, campaigns and public engagement.
· Owning and developing key messages for all main programme streams.
· Owning the brand identities including their evolution and ensuring full brand guidelines are in place.
Consumer Marketing
· Developing and ensuring implementation of an effective consumer communications strategy.
· Leading on development of collateral centring around the TFP website and social media.
· Oversight of consumer campaigns and ensuring effective evaluation and impact studies.
· Overall responsibility and accountability for the events programme including risk management governance.
· Experience of design and working with/commissioning designers.
Projects
· Developing, refreshing and ensuring implementation of project specific communications (new and existing).
· Providing creative input and Marcomms elements of new, placemaking and cultural projects.
· Identifying and securing brand-aligned sponsorships to enhance destination campaigns.
· Driving joint marketing with businesses, tourism and media partners.
· Structuring BID renewal communications based on insights gained throughout the BID term.
Communication and Marketing Channels and Collateral
· Ensuring production of high quality and effective collateral.
· Considering and where appropriate developing new communications channels.
· Ensuring TFP’s messaging is clear, effective, accurate and alive to different audiences and local and other sensitivities.
Team Leadership
· Leading and developing a high-performing, collaborative MarComms team
· Managing MarComms budgets, procurement, KPIs, forecasting and reporting to ensure best value and effective impact.

The Digital Marketing Officer will play a key role in delivering and managing WAF’s digital content and channels. Working closely with the Managing Director and Marketing & Fundraising Consultant, the role will help to implement and grow WAF’s digital marketing strategy—creating compelling, creative, and consistent content that drives engagement, raises income, and strengthens our brand.
About the Charity
The Wildlife Aid Foundation (WAF) is an animal charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of British wildlife. We are passionate about protecting the future for our native species.
We run one of the UK’s busiest wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centres. We deal with over 20,000 wildlife-related incidents, each year. It’s a 24/7 job. On any given day, our rescuers will be scaling trees to rescue stranded baby owls or cutting fox cubs from garden netting. Our vets will be performing life-saving surgery, while our carers look after hundreds of patients and young babies being nursed in our rehab centre.
We rely on a small army of over 300 volunteers and run popular outreach and education programmes that help people take actions to make the world a better place for us and our animal neighbours in the natural world.
We are one of the longest-established wildlife centres in the UK and have been championing British wildlife for over 40 years.
The Role: Digital Marketing Officer
Location: Leatherhead
Salary: £30,000 (Full-Time)

Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Manage WAF’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, TikTok), including scheduling daily content, posts, stories, and reels.
- Create engaging, on-brand content using a mix of video, imagery, graphics, and copy tailored to each platform.
- Work with the Marketing Consultant to implement a social media strategy and content plan, ensuring alignment with charity objectives and audience insights.
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Develop creative digital content (graphics, short-form video, infographics, blogs, ads, etc.) to inspire, educate, and motivate audiences to support WAF.
- Support the production of marketing and fundraising materials, working with colleagues to capture and edit video, imagery, and stories.
- Maintain WAF’s brand voice and visual identity across all digital platforms.
- To design and develop literature and assets for both online and offline media.
- To liaise with social media channels (such as the Dodo) and other media outlets to provide content to support these 3rd party organisations in promoting WAF.
Website Management
- Update and refresh website content, including rescue stories, blogs, species fact pages, and campaign updates.
- Support the management and promotion of WAF’s online shop, ensuring content is engaging and up to date.
Campaigns & Products
- To support the Marketing & Fundraising Consultant with the creating and delivery of the annual fundraising strategy. Creating supporting content and identifying onsite stories that engage audiences.
- Contribute ideas for new digital campaigns, appeals, and supporter engagement opportunities.
- Liaise with potential designers in collaborating and launching new merchandise.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Proven experience managing social media channels in a professional context.
- Strong digital content creation skills (graphic design, short-form video, copywriting).
- Experience using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of digital analytics and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for storytelling.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Passion for wildlife, conservation, and animal welfare.
Desirable:
- Experience in the charity or non-profit sector.

From securing local and national media coverage to building authentic relationships with celebrity supporters, you’ll use your creativity and energy to keep our profile high and our mission front and centre.
The PR and Communications Manager will explore innovative methods to promote the brand and its activities to the right audiences through targeted campaigns, significantly contributing to the fundraising efforts of the organisation. You will be working as part of a collaborative and supportive Fundraising and Communications Team, working closely with the Brand and Marketing Manager and Director of Fundraising and Communications.

Responsibilities to Include:
PR & Media
· Enhance the charity’s profile among targeted audiences through strategic PR activities and diverse media channels, both B2C and B2B.
· Proactively cultivate, build and maintain relationships with media partners at local, regional, and national levels in both trade and consumer media, including print, online, and broadcast platforms, as well as with individual journalists.
· Write compelling and clear press releases, blogs, articles, and statements to effectively communicate our messages.
· Respond promptly to press enquiries for comments, views, and supporting information, and maximise opportunities for further engagement on relevant topics.
· Support the fundraising team by highlighting partner stories, managing PR efforts, and supporting events.
· Lead the pursuit of media-related funding opportunities, such as The Times and Sunday Times Christmas Appeal and corporate opportunities like BGC and ICAP days.
· Manage nominations for relevant awards to gain recognition and support for the charity.
