The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a newly shaped role following a restructure that has created space to further strengthen and grow our community fundraising programme. You will be working closely with the Head of Fundraising (C&E) to create and deliver a new community fundraising strategy, and will agree the key priorities for the role to ensure a clear and realistic focus for the contract period.

This is a 6-month contract role, created to provide immediate expertise and momentum during a period of change. There is scope to make the role permanent, subject to success and organisational needs.

As Community Fundraising Manager, you will play a central role in shaping a fundraising programme with lasting impact. You will take ownership of growing income, expanding supporter engagement, and building long-term relationships across the community.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Growth:

• Work with the Head of Fundraising (C&E) to develop and deliver a refreshed community fundraising strategy.
• Shape and implement plans to grow income, engagement and supporter involvement.
• Set clear income targets, KPIs and growth priorities.
• Develop a diverse and sustainable pipeline of community fundraising opportunities and supporters.

Supporter Engagement & Stewardship:

• Build strong supporter and volunteer relationships, delivering high-quality stewardship and supporter care to enhance journeys, maximise retention and grow long-term engagement.

 Fundraising Delivery:

• Lead delivery of a range of community fundraising activities, including individual fundraising activities and challenges, in celebration and in memory fundraising.
• Identifying and developing new community fundraising opportunities.
• Create engaging campaigns and opportunities that attract new audiences and grow engagement with existing supporters.

Recruitment & Communications:

• Recruit, support and develop volunteers and fundraisers across a range of activities.
• Encourage progression of volunteers into active fundraisers and community leaders.
• Provide ongoing guidance, tools and support to enable successful fundraising delivery.
• Support the promotion of fundraising activity through social media, digital channels and campaign communications.
• Contribute to marketing activity aimed at attracting new supporters and engaging existing audiences.

Systems, Insights & Reporting:

• Use CRM systems effectively to manage supporter data and activity.
• Monitor income, engagement and performance against agreed KPIs.
• Analyse results to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Use insight to inform future planning and campaign development.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with internal teams to align community fundraising with wider organisational goals.

Experience:

You will be highly organised, confident working with budgets and multiple stakeholders, and motivated by social impact.

You will have a minimum of 2-3 years working in fundraising, social value or bid writing.

You’ll have experience in fundraising, grants, partnerships or social value delivery, with strong research, writing and coordination skills, and a collaborative approach to working across teams.

You will be an excellent bid writer with the ability to translate service need and customer aspirations into compelling, winning bids.

You may have experience of raising funds for organisations that are not registered charities but have charitable status.

Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager — Go Beyond £35,000–£37,000 | Fully Remote | Permanent | Full-time

Go Beyond has given over 21,000 vulnerable children life-changing residential breaks since 1994. Young carers who spend their days looking after parents. Children living in poverty for whom a school holiday means hunger, not adventure. Kids who've been bullied or bereaved and need a week away from their ordinary life.

The charity is entirely self-funded. £1.8 million a year, every penny raised by supporters. No government money. Which means the work this fundraising team does is directly and specifically what makes those breaks possible.

This is the role that sits at the heart of that.

What makes this moment unusual:

Go Beyond's flagship campaign, Ice Cream Moments, launches this summer — backed by Louis Theroux, James Acaster, David Gower and Jenny Agutter. The trustees want to go viral. A legacy programme is built and ready to launch. An alumni programme connecting with 21,000+ former beneficiaries is research-complete and waiting for someone to open the door. And a loyal supporter base of 200–300 regular givers — many of whom have been giving for over a decade — is generating £90,000 a year with almost no stewardship behind it.

What the role involves:

The Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager will own the supporter communications function end to end. This is a project management and strategy role — not an execution role. The doing sits with two direct reports and a network of freelancers. Your job is to build the plan, manage the team, deliver the campaigns and make sure the data tells you what's working.

In practice that means:

• Building and managing proper supporter journeys for regular givers, challenge event runners and Ice Cream Moments donors
• Project managing the full campaigns calendar — four annual appeals, Ice Cream Moments, challenge events, and a growing digital communications programme
• Developing and implementing a data strategy, setting up income dashboards and overseeing the CRM
• Launching the legacy programme and, in time, the alumni programme
• Managing two direct reports: a Digital Marketing Officer and a Data & Admin / Challenge Events Officer
• Writing an 18-month strategy with proper pipelines and income forecasts

What we're looking for:

This is not a pure fundraiser role or a pure marketing role. It's a hybrid — and the right person will see that as a feature, not a confusion.

• A track record of owning campaigns end to end — not being part of them, owning them. Specific examples, with dates, outputs and results
• Genuine data literacy — comfortable in a CRM, able to run queries, understand segmentation. Not expert-level, but curious enough that you're never caught out
• Financial awareness — you ask what the target is before anything else. You work backwards from an income number
• Hands-on as well as strategic — you can delegate and direct, but you can also do
• Strong project management — multiple workstreams, freelancers, deadlines you can't move

Charity sector experience is welcome but not essential. Commercial direct marketing, agency-side or individual giving backgrounds are all genuinely considered.

About the role

We’re looking for a Virtual Fundraising Officer to join our Virtual Fundraising Team.

This role sits within the Mass Participation Team, an ambitious team that attracts and enables supporters to raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer through participation in virtual or real-life events and challenges. Young Lives vs Cancer recruits around 11,500 virtual fundraisers a year. For many of these supporters this is their first interaction with Young Lives vs Cancer and shows that virtual fundraising can be just the beginning of a relationship with a new supporter. 

The Virtual Fundraising Officer is responsible for the delivery and growth of virtual fundraising challenges, ensuring exceptional supporter journeys and stewardship while driving ambitious participation and income targets. 

The main purpose of this role is to project manage several events in our virtual events portfolio at Young Lives vs Cancer, and when needed, support the Virtual Fundraising Senior Officer on the project management of the remaining events in our portfolio. This will include utilising a data-driven approach to analyse performance, optimise processes, and identify opportunities for innovation. Collaborate with stakeholders, manage suppliers, and create engaging content to inspire and empower supporters to reach their fundraising ambitions. Ensure all activities are compliant with relevant regulations, contribute to organisational objectives, and uphold best practices in fundraising.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Project management: Manage the virtual challenges portfolio, specifically the smaller events in our virtual portfolio from conception to delivery, and support the Virtual Fundraising Senior Officer on the delivery of the remaining of our Virtual challenge events when needed.
• Stewardship: Develop and deliver engaging, multi-channel stewardship plans to maximise supporter engagement, retention and income, including community management, creation of supporter resources, and implementation of second action strategies.
• Stakeholder/relationship management: Build and manage effective relationships with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure high-quality delivery, strong collaboration, clear communication, and accurate supporter data management.
• Budgeting, reporting & evaluating: Analyse and report on performance, budgets and market trends to inform decision-making, support target setting, and deliver post-event evaluation and continuous improvement across virtual fundraising activities.
• Compliance: Ensure all virtual fundraising activity is fully compliant with relevant regulations, including GDPR and the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice, while adhering to organisational policies, maximising Gift Aid income, and meeting all health, safety, and risk management requirements.

Job Purpose

The Senior Individual Giving Officer plays a central role delivering the campaigns and plans that will achieve the Individual Giving programme income targets. • Manage acquisition and retention campaigns including testing new audiences and channels.

• Monitor and control income and expenditure against targets outlined in annual plans.
• Feed into quarterly forecasting and annual budget setting processes.
• Closely monitor campaign results, provide updates on performance and produce post-campaign analysis reports.
• Make recommendations to improve the performance of future campaigns based on evidence and data.
• Contribute to CRM development and update existing reporting mechanisms.

The Choir with No Name (CWNN) has been building supportive choir communities involving people impacted by homelessness and marginalisation since 2008. Your role 

You will be responsible for the management, development and delivery of marketing and communications to support CWNN’s fundraising strategy. You’ll work alongside our Development Manager to create compelling fundraising campaigns, content and communications, growing engagement from individuals, companies, community fundraisers and potential funders while simultaneously raising our profile among stakeholders through strategic communications and marketing plans. This work includes:   

• Work alongside our Development Manager to create and deliver impactful and innovative fundraising strategies including our public appeals, challenge events and local fundraising campaigns.

• Developing and implementing communications strategies to promote CWNN’s work, managing our social media platforms and external comms to ensure they reflect our strategic goals and values. 

• Producing our supporter e-newsletter, with support from the Development team, to ensure CWNN’s key work, impact, news and campaigns are effectively promoted to our supporter base.

• Create engaging digital content for our website and social media including written copy, video and graphics, to drive engagement, increase awareness and generate income.

• Capturing and analysing key campaign engagement KPIs to inform future strategies and approaches to best engage existing and new audiences.

•  Produce quarterly comms impact overview for senior management and trustee reports.

• Create marketing materials for external use, eg. corporate pitch documents, fundraising packs, gig programmes, flyers and posters using Canva.

• Co-creating case studies, supporting members to share their stories, their way, amplifying their voices and demonstrating the impact of our choirs to stakeholders.

• Co-lead our co-produced ‘Digital Storytellers’ programme with our Community Participation Manager, supporting members to manage their own local social media accounts, sharing their stories and raising awareness of their choirs to new audiences.

• Maintain, organise and populate CWNN’s media library and YouTube channel.

• Write and distribute press releases to both regional and national press and media, fielding media enquiries and building our media contacts.

• Oversight of the day to day content management and maintenance of the website

• Co-ordinate our internal communications programme and internal newsletter, working with senior leadership team.

• Carry out any other tasks that arise that are within the scope and purpose of the post as requested by your line manager

About you 

Essential:

• You’ll have a proven track record in delivering successful, innovative and impactful charity communications content and strategies.
• You’ll have a good understanding of how fundraising and engagement campaigns can convert individuals into donors and advocates.
• You’ll have a creative eye and strong writing skills, with experience of bringing compelling stories to life across various platforms and media, to connect with a diverse range of supporters, funders and stakeholders.
• You’ll be able to multitask effectively, be highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• You’ll be proactive, self-motivated and can identify and act on opportunities as they arise.
• You’ll be reliable with an ability to work independently and have fantastic planning skills. 
• You’ll have a deep understanding of how successful social media content and campaigns work, and always have an eye emerging digital trends and tech.
• You’ll be experienced in using design and web platforms (we use Canva, Squarespace, ClipChamp, Later) to create and deliver professional and impactful digital multi-media content.
