About the role
As Finance Operations Officer, you will play a key role in delivering a well-controlled, timely and efficient finance service across the organisation. This includes overseeing core finance processes such as income and cost accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and retail controls. You'll work to ensure consistent service delivery aligned with internal Service Level Agreements and contribute to ongoing process improvements across the finance function.
In this role, you will:
• Deliver efficient, accurate processing across key financial operations including income and cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and retail controls.
• Maintain a robust system of financial controls, owning reconciliations for bank, cash and other balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies and ensuring financial integrity.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to systems, processes and internal controls.
• Ensure timely and accurate transaction processing to support month-end, year-end, statutory reporting and audit requirements.
• Contribute to effective treasury operations, including the secure processing of payments and refunds
• Collaborate with business teams and other functions to improve stakeholder engagement with finance and enhance service delivery in line with KPIs and SLAs.

The Role
The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising is responsible for the majority of income generation for our charity. The Switch raises income from corporate volunteering partnerships and through grant applications to other trusts and charities, which together contribute circa £800,000 per year. This is a role that requires strategic thinking, relationship and negotiation skills, and the ability to meet income targets.
This role will manage and grow our current key corporate partners, ensuring sustainability and longevity in our partnerships. The person will be responsible for communicating effectively with corporate partners on a strategic level, to understand how we can improve our volunteering offer and communicate impact to their business.
The job-holder will seek new partnerships in diverse industries where we have fewer stakeholders, to ensure our young people work with companies and volunteers from wide-ranging sectors.

What you’ll be doing
The post holder will help advance Ukie’s policy work on aspects of UK and international policy impacting the games and interactive entertainment industry through:

Monitoring policy changes and providing in-depth analysis, research, and reports for internal stakeholders.

Relationship building and engagement with Ukie members and wider sector stakeholders, including attendance at internal and external stakeholder meetings and coalition industry groups.

Support the Senior Policy Manager in research and drafting for Ukie’s external consultation responses, co-ordinating with members and facilitating internal forums for discussions on particular issues.

Support in organising events and engagement with policy makers within Whitehall, Westminster, the Devolved Governments and with regional, combined and local authorities as well as with our global partners in the EU, US and further afield.

Assisting the policy and research teams with major public affairs projects and campaigns according to the Ukie’s internal strategy and drawing on Ukie’s internal data and external partners where appropriate.

Supporting and promoting Ukie at external political meetings, including our bi-annual Westminster Games Week.

Support in raising the profile of Ukie and its significant policy priorities through external communications in partnership with the Ukie campaigns team, and through public scrutiny such as the use of written parliamentary questions.

Acting as the lead point of contact for the APPG on Video Games and Esports to which Ukie acts as the secretariat and taking joint responsibility for liaising with its members.

Draft external policy communications such as the Ukie Policy Byte, the bi-weekly political newsletter, with support from Senior Policy Manager and Head of Policy where necessary.

Be responsible for the team administration of internal stakeholder meetings, including sending out invites, taking minutes and preparing relevant material as well as maintaining up to date email lists of all stakeholders.
Relationship Management

Develop and maintain relationships with games industry member businesses and a wide range of external bodies; including partner organisations, government officials and other trade bodies.

Support the Senior Policy Manager and Head of Policy in the management of Ukie’s internal stakeholder groups – including Ukie’s policy group and its various working sub groups.

Maintain stakeholder engagement trackers and act as a point of contact for external engagement with Parliamentarians, regional politicians and their offices.

Support the Head of Policy and Chief Executive in any external engagements.

Support the policy team and wider Senior Management team with other reasonable tasks as required.
Qualifications and experience required for this role: Qualified by experience. You don’t need to hold a degree to apply for this role, but experience of working in a policy or government affairs facing role, public affairs agency or regulatory environment would be advantageous. On-the-job training will be provided via Ukie or external providers where appropriate and will be part of a structured development plan.

About the role
This pivotal role will see you help deliver the Individual Giving (IG) and Retention strategies, working with colleagues across teams in IG to increase lifetime value of cash, regular giving and lottery supporters and collaborating with peers and Heads of team. You’ll work with the Senior Direct Marketing Manager – Supporter Engagement to lead on the delivery and development of the early retention programme which integrates acquisition and retention, and other exciting campaigns and projects, aimed at acquiring, retaining and engaging our supporters and stewarding them across their supporter journey with Shelter. Essentially, your focus will be on meeting supporter motivations and needs - giving supporters control of how they give, when we contact them and the content that will mean most to them. About you
Passionate about outstanding supporter experiences and maximising income opportunities, you have a good understanding of direct marketing and digital channels such as direct mail, SMS, telemarketing and email. We are working in partnership with Richard House Children’s Hospice to secure their new Corporate Fundraiser. Richard House helps children and their families in East London to lead as happy a life as possible when dealing with a life-limiting health condition. From the moment a child is diagnosed with a life-limiting, life-threatening or complex health condition everything changes. These changes affect the whole family, which is why Richard House feel it is vital not only to provide care to the child but to support the whole family. As a member of the fundraising team, you will directly support the charity’s work, as the majority of their services are funded thanks to the generosity of their supporters.
The Corporate Fundraiser will be responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects and partners, ensuring a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey. Key responsibilities will include prospect research and new business development, compelling proposal and proposition creation, account management and event and campaign planning. The role will be hands on, focused on operational fundraising that delivers crucial short- and medium-term funding impact, as well as longer-term and sustainable corporate income for Richard House.
This Corporate Fundraiser role is offered on an interim basis, but with the option to become permanent.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- Proven ability to deliver income and activity targets in corporate fundraising, with a strong knowledge of corporate fundraising techniques.

You'll work together to build capacity within local community pilots and projects, whilst also building wider connections at different levels of local systems to bring about meaningful and sustainable change.

You will help ensure that learning is gathered and disseminated, including examples of theory into practice.

You’ll be able to take the lead from what is strong, and bring local resources, assets and different people together to create hope and conditions for community-led healing.
