SAVTE (the Sheffield Association for the Voluntary Teaching of English) supports people to develop English language skills to help them gain confidence and become independent, active citizens. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is a visionary leader for SAVTE. They guide and develop the organisation so it can continue to deliver successfully against its mission and values. At the heart of the role is the day-to-day management of the core functions of the organisation, and maintaining excellent governance practice. The CEO drives the financial development of the organisation by securing funding and exploring different opportunities for growing and strengthening SAVTE’s capacity to deliver. 

The CEO inspires SAVTE’s employees, volunteers and beneficiaries, and also builds and strengthens partnerships with local and national stakeholders to ensure the organisation’s reputation and position continue to grow. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, the CEO drives the strategic direction and success of SAVTE.

About the role

As Senior Caseworker, you will provide first and second-tier specialist advice and casework support on a range of welfare benefits issues. You will manage a caseload of complex cases and will take cases to the First-tier Tribunal. Issues we commonly advise on include PIP, LCWRA and Universal Credit.

You will also offer guidance to our Pro-bono Project volunteers on their appeals cases, review cases and submissions to ensure accuracy and quality, and deliver training to PBP project volunteers. You will contribute to the work of the policy team, sharing expertise, insights and evidence.

About you

You will have significant experience as a welfare rights advisor and possess in-depth knowledge of welfare benefits legislation, case law, and procedures, including challenges to decisions and representation at tribunals. You will have at least five years' experience delivering welfare benefits advice on a range of issues and have substantial experience of representing clients at the First-tier Tribunal. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a commitment to working with communities who are marginalised and underserved.

With a passion for helping people to overcome poverty, you will have the ability to interview, advise, and work with service users empathetically. You will have a commitment to working in an anti-poverty charity that sees Policy & Influencing and Advice work as complimentary and integrated components of its strategy to eradicate poverty. Identifying and highlighting social policy issues and trends arising out of your advice and casework you will help inform our policy influencing and campaigning.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Communications and Campaigns Lead to deliver high-impact public communications and campaigns that strengthen Z2K’s profile, influence change and support our fundraising goals.

Working closely with the Director of Policy & Engagement and colleagues across the organisation, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of engaging communications and campaign activity across digital, media and supporter channels. You will also mobilise supporters and communities for in-person actions that amplify our campaigns and deepen public engagement.

You’ll play a key role in bringing our new organisational strategy and planned rebrand to life - ensuring our external messaging reflects our values, demonstrates our impact, and helps secure the income and influence needed to deliver our mission.

A core part of the role will involve ensuring our fundraising communications are compelling and strategic, helping us build stronger relationships with supporters and funders. Equally, you’ll work with colleagues and communities to design and deliver campaigns that are shaped and delivered by people with living experience of poverty.

This is a broad and varied role, ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, wants to be hands-on in delivery, and is passionate about challenging injustice through powerful storytelling and action.

About You

 You’ll be a skilled and creative communications and campaigns professional, with a track record of delivering high-impact, audience-focused content and activity across digital, media and supporter channels. You’re confident managing multiple priorities, spotting opportunities in a fast-moving external environment, and adapting messaging to maximise reach and impact. Experience of in person mobilisation would be an added advantage.

You’ll bring strong project management skills and enjoy working collaboratively across teams to produce clear, compelling communications that support fundraising, influence policy, and build public pressure. Whether it’s crafting supporter actions, writing stories that centre lived experience, or securing media coverage, you’ll be comfortable leading delivery while contributing ideas to wider strategic thinking.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Refuge Worker in Derby.

The post holder will provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children living in our refuges. This includes safety planning and enabling women to access housing, welfare, benefits, and legal advice. A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that women are provided with a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

Main responsibilities

Membership Support

• Manage membership enquiries (average across team of 25 emails daily).
• Manage membership - using, inputting, and reporting via our CRM.
• Facilitate and coordinate faith and membership resources and content delivery.
• Support the charity’s Communities of Interest (representative membership groups).
• Lead the administration of national and regional events.
• Support national programme and membership engagement activities.

General

• To produce and provide reports and resources as required for the Director of Membership
• To work across the charity on supporting the incorporation of membership outputs and content in relevant areas of the wider work of the global charity.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

We are looking for a suitably qualified person to join our team as HR Officer to promote good HR practice throughout the District and its constituent churches and Circuits. The HR Officer will provide expert advice for line managers and provide support for all HR matters, enabling all lay staff to flourish in their roles in addition to meeting statutory and Methodist requirements. Responsibilitied will include:

Recruitment and Induction

• As part of the District Lay Employment Committee, leading on providing support to employing bodies with the preparation of job descriptions, adverts, contracts, and interview processes.
• Supporting employing bodies with the implementation of Safer Recruitment procedures.
• Maintaining dialogue with employers to seek to ensure that required training, probationary periods and other standard procedures are implemented for new employees and line managers.

Advice and Guidance

• Give consistent advice to local churches, Circuits and the District on the full range of employment matters including recruitment, selection, induction, line management, discipline, grievance and redundancy.
• Deal with queries from lay employees regarding contracts, and associated human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
• In consultation with employing bodies, prepare and process associated paperwork for all changes in status of their employees (including recruitment, redundancy, changes in working hours etc) consistent with immigration (Right to Work), Connexional and District policies.  
• Identify the training needs of the District pertaining to HR and communicate these to the relevant parties.
• Develop and lead on training for line managers in collaboration with members of the District Lay Employment Committee.

Administration

• Maintain copies of relevant employment documents on behalf of employers.
• Arrange prior approval for all contracts, recruitments and redundancies from the District Policy Committee in accordance with Methodist Standing Order 438 A 
• With District Administrators, ensure that information regarding lay employees and line managers is maintained.

Policy and Oversight

• Support the District’s Lay Employment Advisor in their duties as described in Methodist Constitution Practice & Discipline
• Process documentation and prepare reports relating to HR activities (grievances, performance reviews, contracts of employment etc.) within the District.
• Ensure that advisory information produced by the District remains relevant, accessible and meets current regulatory frameworks.
• With the District Secretary, monitor and develop district employment policies.
• Develop an awareness of Methodist Safeguarding practices, undergo relevant Methodist Safeguarding training, and understand how this applies to the context.

We’re recruiting a fundraiser and project development manager to build on our creative, award-winning work addressing climate change and fuel poverty in practical, tangible ways. 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who shares our vision of a different energy future: one in which energy is generated renewably and used sustainably whilst leaving no one behind in the journey. We are looking for someone who understands the energy sector and the unique role that a community energy group can play in the energy transition. It is a role for someone who can imagine community solutions to energy sector issues and to translate these into fundable projects. 

Your role will be to work with our board of Directors and staff to come to an understanding of our mission and values and our strategic priorities and develop and resource projects that will enable us to meet those priorities filling gaps in provision. In a practical sense, you will work with stakeholders e.g. our staff, our members, local community groups, local authorities and clients to generate ideas for future projects. The direction of travel should be broadly determined by our recent strategic review.

You will work closely with our CEO and our Board of Directors to prioritise project ideas. You will develop partnerships, refine project ideas, identify sources of funding (Trusts and Grantmakers, Corporate Giving), draft bids and cost delivery on a full cost recovery basis, submit bids and if funding is awarded, mobilise the team to deliver the work. This role provides a big and exciting challenge for someone who knows the energy sector, understands the opportunity of community and grassroots solutions, who brings excellent written communication skills and is willing to learn how to fundraise.

Responsibilities:

Grant Fundraising Support:

• Work with the Selce community (the board, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders) to generate new project ideas that support our strategic mission 
• Research and identify potential grant-making trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies that will fund project proposals
• Prepare high-quality grant applications; this includes calculating budget requirements, formulating proposals, writing proposals
• Manage the grant administration process and maintain accurate records of funding opportunities and applications in the fundraising calendar.

Commissioned Work & Tendering Support:

• Assist in researching and identifying opportunities for commissioned work.
• Support the preparation of tender documents and proposals, including gathering necessary information, budgeting and formatting submissions.
• Provide administrative support for contract negotiation and agreement finalisation.

Community Share Capital

• Draft community share offer brochures and associated documentation
• Support the implementation of strategies to raise community share capital.
• Assist in planning and executing share offer campaigns, including preparing marketing materials and organising investor events.
• Help manage investor communications and data, ensuring compliance with cooperative principles and financial regulations.

Develop and Maintain Relationships

• Assist in building and nurturing relationships with funders, commissioners, and community investors through effective communication.
• Support the organisation’s representation at external events and networking opportunities.

Skills & Experience:

The ability to imagine and innovate and thereby build fundable project-based solutions working in partnership with stakeholders is more important that fundraising experience per se. This post would suit an Energy Policy graduate that has experience of either community energy or journalism (and therefore brings strong writing skills) or environmental projects

Essential:

• Knowledge of the Energy Sector: Understand the energy markets and the energy industry. Also bring a good understanding of community energy, fuel poverty, and energy efficiency
• Strong Writing Skills: Ability to write clear, concise, and compelling content for proposals, reports, and communications.

• Excell Skills: Excellent Excel skills and the ability to calculate project budgets

• IT Proficiency: Competent in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 
• Passion for Mission: A genuine commitment to the values and mission of a charitable cooperative focused on energy transition and social impact.
Desirable:
• Fundraising Experience: Some demonstrable experience in fundraising activities, ideally within a charity or non-profit setting.
• Understanding of cooperative finance models or experience with community share offers.

• Work with the relevant stakeholders, to timetable in the production of the charity’s monthly management accounts, the annual budgeting and in-year forecasting process.
• Drive continuous improvement in St John’s financial management reporting, forecasting and analysis.
• Utilise technology and tools to continuously improve the presentation and content of the charity’s financial management reports.
• Provide clear and understandable narrative to stakeholders and the rest of the team, advocating good accounting principles.
• Identify and implement cost and efficiency savings, without compromising the quality of the service and accuracy of the reporting.
• Work with business partners to provide the financial analysis and appraisal for business cases.

The successful candidate will have:

• A full professional accountancy qualification (CCAB or CIMA).
• Ideally, experience in the charity sector and working in large complex organisations.
• Significant experience in management accounting processes.
• Demonstrable, previous, extensive experience in a finance business partner role.
• Track record of supporting the end-to-end processes for in-year forecasts and annual budgets.
• Experience in dealing with a stakeholders at all levels, internal and external.

The Head of Development will be a key member of the Social Sciences Development team within Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE), who will work closely with SoGE and DAE leadership to establish a small Geography team, and to develop a fundraising strategy that serves the School’s goals and grows its philanthropic support.

SoGE is one of the foremost geography and environment university departments in the world, internationally recognised for the quality of its research and teaching. Geography at the University of Oxford is a large, vibrant and intellectually diverse community comprising the core academic department of the School of Geography and the Environment, its three research centres: the Environmental Change Institute (ECI), the Transport Studies Unit (TSU) and the Smith School of Enterprise and Environment (SSEE) and several geographers based elsewhere in the wider university.

This is a special opportunity to work collaboratively with academic colleagues who craft robust, imaginative and forward-looking answers to pressing questions about the environment, technology, geopolitics and socio-economic change.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced major gifts fundraiser who is looking to grow their career in Higher Education through a senior role combining significant fundraising with management of a small team. You will be a collaborative fundraiser with expertise in major gifts and a strong track record of securing complex philanthropic support. Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you will be a strategic thinker and a skilled operator—communicative, adaptable, and adept at building strong, lasting relationships. Your ability to establish credibility and foster trust across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders will be key to your success, as will be a knowledge of and passion for issues relating to the School’s work, and that of the Social Sciences more broadly. Experience in Higher Education or the charitable sector, as well as of managing staff, is desirable.  Above all, you will share Oxford’s mission and be driven to create meaningful impact through strategic philanthropic partnerships.

Main purpose of post
This is a key support role to the Marketing Manager and Campaigns Manager,
having primary responsibility for the charity’s graphic design work.
Our marketing team raises awareness of our services and grant-giving to
potential beneficiaries and the wider community, support our fundraising
campaigns, and generally promotes Weston Park Cancer Charity throughout
South Yorkshire and beyond.
This is a key role to bring our stories and campaigns to life. You’ll play a key role
in visually communicating our message, developing design assets for both
print and digital platforms, and helping us maintain a strong and consistent
visual identity.

Key Responsibilities
Design and Brand
 Create visual assets for online and offline use, including brochures, reports,
social media graphics, infographics, posters, and fundraising materials.
 Ensure all designs are aligned with our brand guidelines and tone of voice.
 Respond to, discuss and meet design briefs, provided by the Marketing
team.
Digital Media Support
 Design social media templates and email campaign visuals.
 Support in producing visuals for our website and e-newsletters.

Campaign and Event Materials
 Develop design concepts for campaigns and charity events.
 Produce signage, presentations, and promotional materials for fundraising
and awareness activities.

Collaborative Working
 Work closely with a range of colleagues across the marketing, fundraising
team, and service teams.
 Liaise with printers and external suppliers as needed.

Asset Management
 Maintain a well-organised library of design files and templates.

We’re looking for a proactive and professional Events and Administration Officer to play a central role in the delivery of our events programme and in keeping our busy office running smoothly. What you’ll be doing

As our Events and Admin Officer, you’ll be at the heart of our operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Events: Helping to plan and deliver a wide range of events – from breakfast briefings and online panel discussions to gala dinners – ensuring every detail runs smoothly. This will include liaising with suppliers, venues, speakers, and sponsors; coordinating catering and logistics; supporting event promotion; and overseeing attendee communications and requirements.
• CRM & Data: Acting as a Hubspot ‘super-user’, ensuring our CRM is effectively maintained to manage stakeholders, track engagement, and support compliance.
• Meetings: Coordinating internal and external meetings, including diary management for the senior team and producing accurate records.
• Enquiries: Serving as the first point of contact for shared inboxes, responding and redirecting queries efficiently.
• Office & Admin: Supporting office operations, liaising with landlords and suppliers, assisting with finance queries, and ensuring our day-to-day administration runs seamlessly.
• Projects: Assisting with proposition development and project delivery, keeping accurate records and chasing actions.
• General: Providing all-round support to ensure the smooth running of the organisation.

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone who is:

• Educated to at least A-Level (or equivalent) with an administrative or operational focus.
• Professional, approachable, and confident in communicating with people at all levels.
• Experienced in event management and administration.
• Skilled in budget tracking, on-the-day event management, and post-event reporting.
• Organised, with excellent attention to detail and strong time-management skills.
• Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experienced with CRM and e-marketing platforms (ideally Hubspot).
• Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Aligned with our collaborative culture and values.

It would be great if you also bring:

• Familiarity with platforms like Zoom, Eventbrite, and Ticket Tailor.
• Experience using professional social media (particularly LinkedIn) for events and communications.
