We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Development Director to join our high performing charity team.
 
Already one of the best performing NHS Charities in the sector, with an annual income of £4m, we have a new opening for an inspirational and committed Associate Director to lead our fundraising and communications strategies and to take our income to a new level.
 
We have ambitious plans to support the NHS here in Nottingham by running multiple £m campaigns across a range of services, including our Children’s Hospital and our Regional Cancer Centre.
 
Every day hundreds of patients and families choose to support Nottingham’s NHS hospital because of the incredible care they have received.
 
Your role will be to develop a strategy that increases our supporter acquisition, improves our donor retention and maximises that support to reach our goals.
 
You will need to be a strategist and a detailed analyst, excel with budgets, reports and presentations, and lead a team of committed fundraisers across a range of income streams.
 
You will be a natural and enthusiastic leader, who can direct, support and inspire a high-performing team.
 
With experience of working in a complex environment, you will be organised with a high-level of attention to detail, plus have the ability to work alongside adjacent departments in Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
 
We are looking for someone who is dynamic, creative, ambitious and team-oriented, with proven experience working for a fast-paced organisation.
 
As well as evidence of high-level strategic thinking, you will be comfortable diving into the day-to-day work, and so a broad skill set is a must together with a sharp focus on delivering return-on-investment, demonstrating impact of campaigns on revenue, and building our audiences.
 
This is a complex role requiring a high level of political acumen, excellent relationship skills and a desire to improve our ability and capacity to generate income at every level, from digital fundraising to major gifts.
 
The Charity has been serving the Hospital Trust for 17 years and has given over £60m funding for specialist equipment, medical research, enhancements to the hospital environment, and staff wellbeing and support programmes.

About the role
This is a new role for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity as we look to expand our successful Individual Giving & Lottery programmes.

The post holder will deliver quality fundraising campaigns, including Cash Appeals, Regular Giving and Lottery that will grow income, supporter base and lifetime value. Putting supporters at the heart of the Charity’s work, the role includes acquisition, retention and stewardship of individual donors and lottery players to achieve a sustainable increase in income for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

You’ll have strong commercial knowledge, with the ability to apply this to the Charity sector; adding value to our existing fundraising activities and impact reporting. 

As part of a busy and ambitious team, this role would suit a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a talent for storytelling and a knowledge of data-driven marketing. Working with the Digital Fundraising Manager and Marketing & PR Manager, they will be instrumental to the success of Individual Giving during an exciting period of growth for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

Battersea is undertaking a transformational data strategy programme (known as Launchpad) aiming to transform how we collect, store and use information and data about our animals and supporters. This newly created role will work with key stakeholders across the charity to drive transformation and deliver the desired business outcomes and benefits relating to Launchpad, and be responsible for leading and executing the people and culture workstreams and other strategic change initiatives to support interconnected projects to achieve successful implementation and benefits realisation of this programme.

The role holder will be a great collaborator and influencer and will have the ability to work with a range of stakeholders to manage & deliver complex projects in a fast-moving environment with tight deadlines.

Working with the director, Grants Committee and trustees, the grants manager will ensure he/ she delivers the best possible support and guidance consistently. This will involve developing and perfecting sound grant-making processes, assisting staff with applications, selection, awarding, distribution and monitoring and evaluating outcomes. This person will also lead on maintaining accurate data and supporting the team with progress reporting and stakeholder management. This is a relationship and process-based role which reaches right across all the NHS trust’s services.

This role will also assist the development of communication materials, including the identification of grantees to spotlight through storytelling and sharing content that can be used to promote the impact of the charity’s work through social media and other channels.

The RSCM is on a mission to enable the flourishing of church music, and in particular to get children singing.

Working across the whole charity, you will work to sell existing products, courses and events, as well as membership subscriptions. With a passion for the power of singing and music, you will persuade musicians, teachers and members of church communities of the value of RSCM’s offerings. You will build and leverage a network of advocates to help spread the word, accelerating take-up and growing the RSCM’s reach in churches and schools.

The post holder will be expected to work to actively drive sales of RSCM products such as ‘Hymnpact!’ (a singing resource aimed at encouraging singing in primary schools), sales of events such as singing courses, and membership subscriptions; and in some instances voluntary giving. Some of the work will be in support of RSCM Enterprises, RSCM’s wholly owned trading subsidiary.

The sales plan will be delivered with some assistance of external contractors (e.g. social media), and with input from individuals across the organisation.

The post holder is responsible for selling to individuals, corporate customers (such as school federations) and organisations (e.g. choral societies) including through appropriate organisational networks. The holder will play an active part in suggesting, agreeing and delivering agreed KPIs and sales targets, monitoring and adjusting activities as necessary to improve results. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the long-term financial viability of the charity and whilst we have a comprehensive product offer, we welcome innovation. The post holder will be expected to make suggestions and recommendations for NPD (new product development) and changes to our strategy that could make the products more attractive to parallel markets.

The Head of Project Development is a new and pivotal role within the organisation that will bridge the gap between our fundraising efforts and the development and implementation of projects. This strategic position is focused on developing new projects based on clear evidence of need and alignment with PCR’s mission and priorities, as well as enhancing the case for existing projects. Key Responsibilities 

• Project Development and Management: Spearhead the development of new projects and work alongside fundraising to develop bids to support existing initiatives, ensuring alignment with PCR’s strategic goals and funding opportunities. 

• Fundraising Support: Collaborate closely with the fundraising team to identify and secure funding from large statutory sources, including but not limited to the likes of the National Lottery Community Fund, NHS, NIHR, and Sports England. 

• Evidence Gathering: Develop a robust evidence base and demonstrate PCR’s capability through in-house or commissioned pilot work. 

• Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic planning processes, identifying key obstacles to project development, and developing strategies to overcome them. 

• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure future project alignment with community needs and stakeholder expectations. 

Profile of the Candidate 

• Proven experience in project development and management, preferably within the healthcare, research, or non-profit sectors. 

• Demonstrated success in securing funding from large statutory sources or HNWIs. 

• Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to identify and address operational and strategic challenges. 

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of motivating others to achieve high performance. 

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the capability to work effectively across various levels of an organisation.

About the role
A key member of WVUK’s Humanitarian & International Programmes (HIP) management team, you’ll lead the unit that’s responsible for acquiring around £35m of institutional donor funding (grants & contracts) each year, as well as corporate and philanthropic proposal development on behalf of the Strategic Partnership Directorate. Defining and ensuring a consistent approach to delivering quality and timely submissions that are coordinated and informed with input from all relevant stakeholders will be important too, as will ensuring the available capacity and capability of a team to lead submission development. Line managing and developing unit members, providing strong proactive support to other HIP unit managers and playing your part in developing and delivering HIP team plans – all are aspects of this high-profile role.

About you

To succeed, you’ll need proven experience of developing and maintaining relations with institutional donors, analysing their funding requirements and shifting worldviews (particularly DFID/FCDO, EU/ECHO), and working with, managing, and developing relationships with consortium partners. You’ll also need field experience of working in different cultures and religious contexts. Proactive and creative in improving existing processes and developing new ones to improve efficiency and effectiveness, you’re adept at knowledge management within a demanding team environment and used to line managing and training, mentoring or capacity building a team.

You’re an excellent project manager too - someone who’s comfortable working on complex multiple tasks and prioritising to meet deadlines. Expertise in a specific technical area - e.g., child protection, health, nutrition, livelihoods, social accountability, resilience or economic development, would also be useful, as would working knowledge of a second language. More important however, is a general awareness of Christian teaching to appreciate the Christian ethos of WVUK and live their values. As an active Christian (Permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of The Equality Act 2010), this role allows you to integrate your Christian faith and be sensitive to its various expressions across cultures and denominations.

Educational Grants & Relationships Manager 

The Merchant Taylors' Company is looking for an exceptional person to lead on its educational grant-making and its education-related relationships. The grant-making is delivered primarily through the Merchant Taylors' Foundation. It’s  partly about schools but also potentially any setting in which education improves lives – for example, offender rehabilitation, or our Early Years joint programme with the Leathersellers’ Company. 

You’ll sustain vibrant relationships between the Company and schools throughout England and Northern Ireland with which it has close links. Some are state-maintained, some in the independent sector, and you’ll love both types.

You’ll lead on education-related volunteering opportunities for the Company’s membership, a vibrant community of people whose birth decades span the early 2000s back to the 1930s. 

You’ll also lead on relationships with all the stakeholders affecting our education-related work. You’ll ensure those relationships are flourishing and mutually advantageous, and you’ll lead on identifying and building new ones to increase our impact. 

You’ll support fundraising work for the Foundation, for example through creating compelling pieces for social media and hard copy publications. 

You’re a fast learner and clearly very able. You are clever, proactive, pragmatic and financially astute. Your influencing and diplomatic skills are strong. Your social skills are brilliant with people of all ages and walks of life. Your oral and written communication skills are excellent, and you’ll need them for working with Merchant Taylors’ boards and committees and communicating with the Company’s membership. You’re not afraid of taking responsibility, or being accountable. You are a strategic thinker. You’re great on the big picture as well as the detail. You’re confident with figures and financial information. You’re also confident with IT and, given we’re a small team, you’ll love using IT applications to help us work efficiently. 

You don’t need a professional background in education. The qualities above are much more important. This job could suit someone with great potential who is looking for the next step up, or someone who can already demonstrate experience of everything from their career to date. Either way, the selection process may include skills tests.

Located in Sidmouth, this is a busy shop in a brilliant location, with a vibrant community!  As Shop Manager, you'll be leading the volunteer team, as well as focusing on further recruitment to grow our volunteer team and building strong connections within the local community to ensure the shop's continued success.

About You

You will be someone with exceptional people skills, a leader who understands the importance of community and enjoys supporting people to exercise similar passions through volunteering.

You'll bring:

• Proven experience leading and motivating teams, ideally having managed volunteers, or a retail team previously.

• A strong understanding of what good looks like in a busy and successful community-led shop, ideally with some experience within Retail or a clear passion for sustainable fashion and knowledge of products and trends.

• A can-do attitude and ability to approach challenges in a positive way, knowing when to reach out for support and guidance where you need it.

Previous charity retail experience is ideal, but not essential. If you have transferable leadership skills or experience managing volunteers in other settings and are looking for a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you!

Ways of Working: On-site – this role will be based in the Sidmouth shop in Devon. The shop is currently open 6 days per week (Monday to Saturday), and we're looking for someone able to work 5 days (35 hours) per week to include some weekend working.
