The Major Giving Department at the NSPCC has an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser to become part of the Statutory Team, securing significant income from national, devolved and local government, research grant-makers and commercial tenders.
The Senior Public Sector Development Manager will work with the Lead for Public Sector Development, the Associate Head of Philanthropy, another Senior Public Sector Development Manager and two Public Sector Development Managers towards a shared income target of around £5 million per annum. These funds will create ground-breaking NSPCC projects that support millions of children, and help prevent abuse across the UK.
The recruited fundraiser will work at both a national and local level to lead on securing six and seven-figure grants to help the Statutory team achieve its annual income target. Working across the charity, they will build relationships with senior stakeholders, and source and share information with funders through engaging written materials, phone conversations and face-to-face meetings. Alongside managing their own portfolio, they will think strategically and lead on maximising new public sector funding streams.
The Major Giving Department is open and supportive with an active social life. The wider Trusts & Statutory Team has grown considerably - increasing its annual income by more than £6 million since 2017/18. With bespoke training opportunities, room for significant development and growth, and the support of colleagues and resource teams, the role will provide the opportunity to make a positive change for children and families across the UK.
The successful candidate will have:
- A track record of successfully bidding for six and/or seven-figure donations
- The ability to lead on producing compelling written material of the highest quality
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills (with both colleagues and funders)
- Experience of demonstrating strategic thinking, initiative and creativity to lead projects and achieve successful outcomes
The role’s focus is Greater Manchester with some work in Merseyside, and you will also work on joint initiatives and events with the Fundraising Development Manager for Yorkshire.

A day in the life of a Fundraising Development Manager:
- Generate income from individuals, and corporates
- Promote appeals and events to prospective supporters
- Join forums and networking events to cultivate new income generating relationships
- Meet with supporters in person, on-line and by phone
- Collaborate with colleagues in service teams to identify funding needs
- Recruit and work with volunteers, including corporate volunteers
- Thank our donors and supporters and ensure they feel valued – we love creative ways to say thank you
- We also love creative ways to say please and you will help generate new fundraising ideas
- Contribute to team meetings and collaborate with fundraising colleagues

The Role
As the Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will spearhead the expansion of our Corporate and Community Giving portfolio. You will be instrumental in managing income streams projected to raise £150,000 this year, with ambitions for future growth. Your role will also encompass being a prominent figure in the community, delivering fundraising talks, attending networking events and being an advocate for Bath Cats and Dogs Home.

About the role:
The fundraising team raise approximately £400K annually and aspiring to grow by over half a million by 2025. You will be responsible for leading and growing income via the charities Corporate Partnerships and Sporting Challenges. The ideal candidate will have high-level experience in corporate fundraising.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide excellent account management to some of the charities existing and new corporate relationships.
- Carry out effective prospect research.
- Engage companies in our sporting challenges.
- Nurture effective relationships with corporate partners to achieve the best outcomes for the charity.
- Manage and grow the charities portfolio of challenge events to maximise income from this fundraising stream to achieve and exceed set income and expenditure targets, offering opportunities for engagement, and fundraising across the calendar year.
- Plan and deliver the marketing and recruitment of a range of events, including the London Marathon and other major running, hiking, cycling, swimming, skydiving and ultra-challenges.
- Coordinate and create content for the Fundraising Team communications via social media and digital communications to increase engagement from supporters.
- Create and manage annual budget lines to ensure income and expenditure meet set financial targets to maximise a return on investment.
- Monitor and report on income and expenditure for the relevant budget lines.
- Actively participate in team meetings.

About you:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A proven track record of successfully managing a charity’s corporate partnerships and sporting challenges.
- Good knowledge of the principals of customer service/supporter care and donor development.
- Sound knowledge of GDPR and the impact on fundraising in terms of on-going consent and deletions of donors.
- Significant experience of working within a charity in a similar fundraising role.
- Experience of developing new fundraising products and building a programme of engagement to grow fundraising income.

About the role
Our Workplace Wellbeing Team has grown considerably in the past few years, and we take pride in delivering great training and raising awareness about mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. About Pancreatic Cancer Action:
Pancreatic Cancer Action (PCA) was founded in 2010 by a rare survivor of the disease. We are a small, creative and passionate team committed to improving early diagnosis and saving lives. In August 2020, Pancreatic Cancer Action merged with Pancreatic Cancer Scotland making our team stronger than ever.
Pancreatic cancer has only a 7% survival rate and this figure has not improved significantly for over 50 years. Despite it being the 5th biggest cancer killer in the UK, pancreatic cancer receives only 3% of overall research funding.
With a strong focus on early diagnosis, it is Pancreatic Cancer Action’s aim to improve survival rates through raising awareness, medical education, improved patient information and by funding research specifically into the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Simply put, we want more people diagnosed in time for surgery, currently the only potential for a cure.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop and grow the annual programme of fundraising events such as the London Marathon and Great North Run.
- Grow and steward a pipeline of new and existing community and events audiences and fundraising opportunities with a particular focus on England. Ensuring to always maintain the highest quality supporter journey.
- Manage the delivery of the virtual challenge events. Add insight and support the annual Pancreatic Awareness Month Campaign and help to further develop Pyjama’s for Pan Can to new audiences.
- As a senior member of the Income Generation Team you will contribute to robust financial planning, management and reporting of income and expenditure in your own areas of expertise.
- Responsible for the delivery and recruitment into PCA’s Challenge Events programme making sure participants receive exceptional supporter care.
- Develop compelling and engaging third party fundraising materials to inspire supporters to reach their maximum fundraising targets.
- Contribute to the development of automated and integrated supporter journey and engagement plans with the support of the Head of Income Generation to ensure a consistent and efficient supporter experience.
- Seek out engagement opportunities to support donor acquisition and retention utilising new and existing channels and platforms.
- You will be an excellent relationship manager who can maintain accurate records on our CRM system (Salesforce) to ensure that we develop, engage and update our supporters.
- Work closely with colleagues in Marketing and Communications, to create engaging products and community and event campaigns. Updating the fundraising section of the PCA website and other third party platforms with compelling content and seamless user journeys.
- Be competent at data inputting, IT literate and very organised. Empathy and excellent communication skills are vital in this role and the candidate must be able to collaborate and work well as part of a team.
- Attending when necessary, external events, conferences and exhibitions across the UK and being the face of Pancreatic Cancer Action, acknowledging that some of these may involve overnight stays and weekends.
Income and targets
- Help to grow Pancreatic Cancer Action’s income from community and challenge event fundraisers.
- Develop ongoing stewardship journey for Community/DIY Fundraisers and increase average gift though exceptional supporter care.
- Achieve Financial and non-financial targets and KPI’s from corporate and community fundraising as agreed with the Head of Income Generation.
- Monitor and control allocated fundraising budgets and regularly update the Head of Income Generation.
- Prepare and monitor reporting for all online fundraising platforms to fit with our accounting systems reporting this to the Head of Income Generation monthly.
- Contribute to Pancreatic Cancer Action’s fundraising strategy.

As Supporter Engagement Officer you’ll play a key role in helping us to engage new and existing supporters as well as helping to deliver first-class stewardship to retain support and build trust. In addition you will develop appeals and communications that engage and inform supporters which help to raise more voluntary income.
Directly supporting the Direct Marketing and Legacy Manager and working closely with all of the Supporter Engagement team it would be beneficial if you have previous experience or an interest in Fundraising. Being a confident communicator with a “can-do” approach is essential as well as being able to demonstrate proven administrative skills, the ability to manage a varied workload and be highly organised.
We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. Please note that all employees are contractually required to work from the office a minimum of 4 days a month.

We are recruiting a Fundraising and Engagement Assistant apprentice to provide outstanding data management, supporter care and assist the Challenge Events Fundraising Officer and wider fundraising team to support our income generation.
What you will do:
Support the Fundraising team to uphold a high level of supporter care with a view to retention and increased engagement.
Efficiently and accurately process and reconcile all incoming donation information, received daily, weekly and monthly from multiple digital sources, onto our database and acknowledge these within agreed timescales.
Analyse all online income including but not exclusively from Just Giving, Enthuse, PayPal Giving Fund and Facebook along with all other income.
Ensure that all third party received income is recorded on Raisers Edge and produce accurate reports for internal stakeholders.
Be the first point of contact for challenge event supporters and manage and respond to queries.
Record and update non-financial supporter information such as, communication preferences, research information and other personal information in line with our Data Protection policy.
Distribute all parcels in a timely manner, making sure everything is recorded accurately.
To be successful in this role you will have:
English and Maths GCSE or equivalent grade C or above
Previous experience providing dedicated administration support.
Experience of handling sensitive information appropriately
Experience of working effectively within a team environment and assisting colleagues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write reports.
Ability to handle calls and enquiries from stakeholders including people who may be vulnerable and /or bereaved sensitively and appropriately.

The apprenticeship programme is due to start in September 2024, provided by the Juice Academy - an industry-led apprenticeship provider. They are partnered with Jane Montague Consultancy to deliver the 13-15 month Fundraiser Level 3 programme. Apprentices work on the job within a charity whilst receiving 20% off the job training from current industry experts. The training sessions are a hybrid of face-to-face learning (two optional in-person days) in Manchester, and virtual half-day classrooms via Zoom. Apprentices also receive the on-the-job training in the workplace. The final three months of the course will be the ‘assessment period’ during which apprentices go through an End Point Assessment and are graded a pass, merit or distinction. Apprentices currently have a 94% distinction rate. The Juice Academy are part of the Apprentify Group, and development coaches support apprentices throughout the programme.
The qualification will include:

Salary: £23,114 per annum (SCP 4) progressing by increments to £23,893 per annum (SCP 6)
Hours: 36 hours per week Location: Warrington Contract: 15-month fixed term contract with a view to be permanent after completion of apprenticeship

As part of the charity’s ambitious strategic development plans, they are recruiting a Fundraising Relationships Officer. In this role, you will join a fast-paced, agile, and dynamic organisation that is building its global reach and impact to meet the growing need for its support.
Your key responsibilities include:
• High value donor and corporate fundraising programme support.
• Project manage high-value donor and corporate fundraising and engagement activities, including delivering appeals, submissions, and enquiries.
• Administer the high-value donor thanking programme across the trust, legacy, and corporate fundraising, ensuring exemplary stewardship.
• Gather and analyse information about current and prospective high-value donors and corporates from GDPR-compliant sources such as publicly available websites and the supporter database.
• Contribute to research on donors and corporates, to enable targeted approaches.
• Maintain the prospect pipeline, identifying potential donors and corporate partners to ensure the Fundraising Relationships programme continues to grow.
• Project manage fundraising events, taking an active role at each event, and ensuring all aspects of the event run with efficiency.
• Project-manage the development and production of fundraising and marketing materials, to support high-value donor and corporate activities.
• Provide general administrative support such as drafting documents, updating policies and procedures, and meeting minutes, dealing with telephone queries, data entry etc.
Your knowledge:
• Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices.
• Knowledge of developing and delivering compelling pitches and applications.
Your experience:
• Experience of working in a busy professional environment as administrator, fundraiser, researcher, or project manager on a variety of projects.
• Experience of providing exemplary administrative support and maintaining effective administrative systems and procedures.
• Experience of providing excellent supporter/customer care and resolving complaints.
• Experience of building working relationships with a diverse range of people at all levels of seniority.
• Experience of organising or assisting with events.
• Experience generating income and/or outcomes against set targets. (Desirable).
Your skills:
• Capable of diligent research, with excellent analytical skills to interpret and present information.
