Job Summary
The Head of Operations holds responsibility for our day-to-day delivery, strategic development of our services, and operational team leadership. As our new Head of Operations you will:
- sit on the PiP Senior Management Team and lead our team of circa twenty delivery staff.
- ensure continuous operational improvement, working with SMT to develop our service and systems, through new projects or ways of working, and champion a learner-led approach to everything we do.
- champion PiP meeting our regulatory and reporting requirements, manage key relationships including with local authorities, and hold budget responsibility across our service.

What You’ll Need
- Significant experience of working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar vulnerable client group, including knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) processes.
- Significant experience of leading and managing a staff team.
- Strong understanding of and commitment to a person-centred approach to working with people with learning disabilities, including planning, progress monitoring and review.
- Experience of liaising with a wide network of agencies and sector professionals in support of student needs.
- Knowledge of national and local legislation and policy affecting people with learning disabilities, including personal budgets. Alongside knowledge of key legislation and processes including on Health & Safety and Risk Skills and abilities
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports for a variety of internal and external audiences.
- Able to take a lead role in the implementation of major tasks, including contributing to the delivery of key performance management targets and making organisational and systems improvements.
- Able to manage and complete projects successfully, including delegating tasks and monitoring and evaluating progress against outcomes.
- Able to establish, develop and maintain constructive and professional relationships with a wide variety of professionals and carers both internally and externally.
- Able to liaise and work closely with student families, carers and other stakeholders in planning, implementing and monitoring support.
- Able to take a flexible approach to work, including flexible and out of hours working in response to service needs and developments.
- Willing and able to participate actively in a variety of fundraising events and activities, including some evening and weekend events.

You will support the promotion of sustainable shopping and the shop’s social media to increase audience reach, attract customers, donors and volunteer supporters to deliver the Retail Strategy.
Role Requirements
- To maximise shop sales by achieving agreed targets both through donated stock and bought in/new goods. This involves proactive stock generation, optimum pricing, processing stock to agreed amounts and stock planning.

About the role
The Senior Digital & Data Marketing Manager will own the design, delivery and continuous optimisation of PDSA’s digital and data marketing ecosystem to support fundraising and supporter-engagement goals. You will convert CRM insights into segmented, personalised journeys across email, direct mail and digital channels, improve website visibility and user experience, and introduce systems that make content easier to find and use.
Who we are looking for
We’re seeking a hands-on, strategic digital marketer with a strong appreciation of the charity sector and demonstrable experience of using data to drive fundraising and engagement.
Candidates will ideally have proven experience in digital marketing and data analytics within the non-profit or charity sector, with strong expertise in CRM systems, marketing automation, and analytics tools. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex datasets into actionable insights and testable optimisation plans. You will also improve SEO, website performance, and email/direct marketing campaigns to drive conversion. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience managing agency and partner relationships, are a must. Leadership experience while operating with commercial awareness is valuable.

Development Manager
Purpose of the Role
The Development Manager will play a vital role in expanding The Churchill Fellowship’s income from Trusts, Foundations, and other institutional funders. Working closely with the Development Director, the post holder will identify, cultivate and secure new funding partnerships that support our core Fellowship programme, unrestricted income, and the Activate Programme in line with our organisational priorities.
The postholder will manage the full funder journey, from initial engagement to long-term stewardship, ensuring all relationships are grown and managed professionally and effectively. They will work closely with relevant departments to coordinate proposals, reports, and communications, helping maintain strong connections with funders.
Key responsibilities
Prospecting and Pipeline Development
- Research and identify new potential supporters, primarily from the Trusts & Foundations sector, with some engagement of aligned individuals or family-foundation prospects in conjunction with the wider Development Team.
- Support the Development Director in delivering targeted cultivation and engagement strategies to grow new income streams.
- Build and maintain a healthy, dynamic pipeline of qualified new business opportunities.
- Monitor sector trends to identify emerging supporters and new partnership opportunities
Approaches and Proposal Development
- Prepare tailored, persuasive funding proposals, applications, and cases for support, drawing on internal expertise and materials.
- Lead on initial engagement with new prospects, coordinating meetings, briefings and follow-up communications.
- Manage the cultivation process ensuring prospects receive timely and professional engagement throughout.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals are accurate, evidence-based and aligned with organisational objectives.
Relationship Management
- Act as the key contact for donors and funders secured through this role, managing relationships and ensuring continuity of communication.
- Work closely with the Development Director, Appeal Director and CEO to coordinate senior-level involvement in funder engagement where appropriate.
- Ensure accurate monitoring, evaluation and reporting for all grants, providing timely updates and impact information to funders. Liaise with colleagues across the organisation to identify when and how internal contacts or senior volunteers can support prospect engagement, ensuring this complements any existing relationships or approaches.
Internal Collaboration and Systems
- Record all activity in Salesforce, ensuring accurate data capture on all prospect and funder activity.
- Contribute to income forecasting and team reporting
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to align fundraising approaches with strategic initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging and shared priorities.
General
- Ensure fundraising activity complies with relevant regulations, GDPR, and due diligence processes and ethical fundraising policies
- Support Development team events and activities as required, occasionally outside normal working hours.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Development Director to support the success of the team and organisation.
Person Specification
Qualification:
- Degree level or equivalent transferable skills - Desirable
Skills and Experience
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a fundraising, grants or donor facing role, particularly prospecting new funders
- Proven success in securing funding from Trusts & Foundations or HNWIs, particularly new business (one-off or multiyear grants and repeat grants)
- Strong experience in research & prospect identification for trusts/foundations or major donors
- Excellent proposal/application writing, with ability to tailor cases to funder priorities
- Good interpersonal and communication skills — able to engage funders at senior levels and with colleagues internally
- Strong organisational skills, managing multiple proposals and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and using it to manage pipeline / prospect data
- Ability to interpret and present information (budgets, impact data, reports) clearly to funders and internal stakeholders
- Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with senior staff, trustees and senior volunteers
- Knowledge of fundraising regulations, due diligence and GDPR

About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Shop Supervisor to make a difference and deliver positive social impact in the local community while also raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness.
As a Shop Supervisor, you will support the Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will play a key role in delivering customer service and supporting volunteers, as well maintaining the look and feel of the shop and processing stock. You will work towards ambitious sales and training targets, maximising the impact on our mission to end homelessness.
This is a unique retail opportunity where you will also be involved in delivering on the job training for Crisis members, supporting them to gain the skills and confidence needed in the workplace. You will work collaboratively with your team and will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have significant retail or customer service experience alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. Digital technology has already transformed our communications and will continue to do so. This senior communications and marketing role will be responsible for steering the ongoing digital transformation of CAFODs work, primarily in the supporter programme and also across the wider organisation.
This role encompasses overall responsibility for the brand, digital marketing, messaging, proactive and reactive media relations, with a core focus on digital transformation across all platforms. Introduction
Herts Welcomes Refugees is at a transitional stage of its development, moving from a charity
managed entirely by volunteers to one in which a small team of paid staff at its core facilitate and
support the trustees to guide the work of the 170 or so volunteers. The staff team currently
comprises a Volunteer Coordinator an IT Support Assistant and soon we will also be recruiting an
Administrative Assistant. The Director will also work collaboratively with the (volunteer)
Management Committee, the volunteer teams delivering services across the county and those
volunteers providing support in key areas such as evaluation media and safeguarding.
Having come through a period of rapid development in the last four years, we now need to
consolidate our knowledge and experience and further professionalise how we operate to ensure
the sustainability and further development of the charity. Whilst committed to remaining a
volunteer led charity, we need an energetic and experienced Director to support the trustees in
achieving our objectives and take the charity into the next phase of its development.
This brand-new senior role, which is being created as part of a new three-year funding programme by the
National Lottery Community Fund, is key to the next stage of our development. The postholder
will need to be flexible in working with the Trustees, existing staff team and volunteers to help
steer the charity through this transition.
