We do this via our grant giving service, which provides vital financial support to older people who are living in poverty. We also deliver services personalised to individual needs and integrated with local communities at our care homes and day centres.

About the role

This is a remote-first role open to candidates anywhere in the UK. You’ll join us in our Woking office just once a month for team collaboration days.

We are looking for an experienced trust fundraiser to join our small, busy fundraising team. You will:

• proactively nurture and grow our relationships with existing supporters
• develop relationships with new trusts and foundations, taking pride in excellent donor stewardship,
• create compelling funding applications, reports and communications which demonstrate our impact
• raise restricted and unrestricted money for our grant giving service and for enhancements to our care homes and day care services, which improve the lives of the older people.

• Grants Team, Marketing and Communications Team, care homes and day care services, Estates and Facilities Team, Finance Team.

External:

• Consultants, agencies and suppliers.

Key objectives and responsibilities

• Be primarily responsible for researching and writing, prioritising, developing and submitting compelling proposals, updates and reports to trust donors.
• Maximise income by building and maintaining relationships with existing portfolio of trust donors through excellent relationship management.
• Use the database (Access Charity CRM) to maintain accurate and detailed records, manage relationships, and coordinate actions and deadlines.
• Research and identify new opportunities, and write and submit high quality, targeted proposals to secure support from new and lapsed funders.
• Prepare written reports on activities, progress and income against objectives.
• Ensure the impact of our work is clear, visible and effectively communicated in our social media, on our website and in our Impact Report.
• Liaise with internal staff to compile project information for funding applications, and build positive, professional relationships internally and externally.
• Gather case studies for use in fundraising communications, applications and reports.
• Undertake administrative duties such as thanking donors and other routine office procedures as required.
• Carry out other tasks as required by the Fundraising Manager and Fundraising Team.

The Sporting Events Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals taking on sporting challenges and effectively managing relationships to maximise income.

As Sporting Events Administrator, you will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. You will work closely with the Sporting Event Managers (SEM) and Sporting Event Officers (SEO) to drive the continued growth of the charity’s sporting event fundraising income. You will also be required to show excellent organisation and relationship-building skills to support supporters.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Provide excellent customer service to Sporting Event fundraisers, to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.

· Ensure fundraisers and volunteers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.

· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.

· Effective management of administrative support for team, including accurate recording of sporting fundraising data in the Salesforce database.

Event and Supporter Management

· Support the team in managing the sporting events as agreed with the Sporting Events Manager (SEM). Including recruitment of sporting places, recruitment of volunteers, communications plans, event marketing and event attendance.

· Working alongside the SEM and the SEO to manage the stewardship of all supporters.

· Build and manage relationships with prospective and current sporting fundraising supporters through prompt, helpful, professional and friendly contact.

· Taking the opportunity to maximise income and long-term support with every fundraising supporter, suggesting ARUK fundraising products where appropriate.

· Schedule and deliver stewardship good luck calls for all portfolio sporting eventers.

· Drafting prompt, professional thank you letters and certificates to fundraising supporters.

· Fundraising data management includes adding new constituents to the fundraising database (Salesforce), ensuring details are accurately recorded and maintained and that supporters are appropriately thanked.

· Manage external lead generation platforms (e.g., Let's Do This) to identify, contact, and convert potential participants into supporters, ensuring consistent and timely engagement.

· Managing emails sent to sporting events inbox.

Events Support

· Support in the effective delivery of sporting fundraising events for ARUK.

· May include relationship management with Third-Party event providers.

· Attendance of weekend events where necessary.

Do you have a track record of producing top quality research and policy analysis? Do you have a detailed understanding of health policy and its political context? Are you motivated to help shape future work and play a key role leading research that will have significant impact at both a local and national level?

The Nuffield Trust is looking for someone capable of leading projects across a range of topics within health and care; someone who will be an energetic, inspiring presence in the team. You will have strong critical appraisal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have the ability to analyse policy documents, grey literature and official reports related to specific policy areas.

In this role, you will be responsible for a mix of short- and long-term projects, including in-house research and policy analysis and reactive work. You will be expected to develop and lead research projects, including leading funding bids, and you will work with a range of stakeholders, including funders and academic partners. You will have strong quantitative skills, and you may have qualitative research experience too. Expertise in workforce research is desirable but not essential.

• Experience of designing and leading mixed methods research
• Advanced quantitative research skills and excellent analytical and critical appraisal skills
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of health policy in the UK

The Team

Part of the Philanthropy Team, comprised of individuals focused on major giving, prospect research and trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will work closely with the corporate partnerships team and community and events team. 

Key Relationships

Prospect research colleagues; Head of Philanthropy, major giving and trusts and foundations fundraisers; funding team; community and events; key stakeholders across the charities and hospital trust. 

Overall Purpose of the Role

The Prospect Research Manager will play an integral role in managing the growth and development of the prospect pipeline to enable the fundraising ambitions of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity.  
 

This role will make a significant contribution towards increasing our income by ensuring that the best potential supporters are identified, researched and allocated in collaboration with the high value fundraising teams.  

This role works across all areas of the team’s remit to deliver strategic insight on our highest-level prospects, using data science techniques to evaluate performance, spot trends and opportunities, including due diligence research, build prospect pipelines for priority fundraising projects, and work directly with fundraisers to manage prospect portfolios.  
 

Our fundraising department has recently entered a period of ambitious growth and will shortly be launching a significant capital campaign for our children’s hospital. We are investing in this pivotal role as we know it will be fundamental to our success in this campaign and beyond. This is a great opportunity for a prospect research professional who wishes to join an ambitious fundraising team at an incredibly exciting moment. 
 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and strategic prospect research and intelligence which meets the needs of our fundraising team.  
• Conduct fundraising market research, from larger prospect finding projects to prospect ratings work, donor profiles, networks research, competitor analysis and occasional work on cultivation event briefings.  
• Work closely with the Senior Prospect Research Manager to ensure the team’s workplan is updated regularly and work assigned is carried out to deadline, sharing any capacity issues or challenges where they arise. 
• Carry out due diligence research on prospective donors, producing thorough and objective reports which support fundraising decisions and ensure adherence to our gift acceptance procedures and are agreed with the legal team  
• Identify networks of clinicians and stakeholders to assess the opportunities for reaching new potential donors.  
• Work with the Senior Prospect Development Manager to undertake work arising from portfolio reviews to clean fundraising portfolios.  
• Build strong cross-team working relationships, meeting with fundraisers on a regular basis to discuss needs, manage expectations and gain feedback.  
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the Raiser’s Edge database which will include regular data mining activity, building complex queries and exports, and the creation of constituent records.  
• Advocate best practice in the recording and processing of prospect data on Raiser’s Edge, ensuring data is accurate, relevant and processed as per the team’s Data Protection Policy and in line with The Data Protection Act 2018/ the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018. This will include working with the data team to identify data challenges and appropriate solutions for improving prospect data quality and cleanliness.  
• Work with the Senior Prospect Research Manager to develop annual plans which best support Fundraisings priorities.  
• Network regularly with sector peers to share best practice and generate insight on the latest developments in prospect research.  
• Alongside the Senior Prospect Research Manager, oversee prospect identification for priority fundraising projects and support team members in developing projects for prospecting.  
• Proactively engage with market intelligence which supports the identification of prospects and philanthropic trends, and highlights opportunities for future fundraising growth. This would include regular assessment of insight on transformational donations made worldwide, high net worth individuals and philanthropic trends. 

Working Environment:

The post holder should expect to: 
 

• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.  
• Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.  
• Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.

• Delivered prospect research strategies and experience of working on prospect management activities.

The Job

We are recruiting Finance Business Partners to support research teams and collaborate closely with the central finance team. In this role, you will be part of a research centre, working with budget holders and research leads to provide an effective and efficient financial service. Responsibilities include producing regular quarterly forecasts and the annual budget, supporting project costing, overseeing financial management of research projects, and providing variance analysis. You will also collaborate on the production of management accounts, support financial accruals and income recognition, and contribute to the preparation of annual statutory accounts. Additionally, you will oversee auditing processes, ensure project reporting meets funding requirements, and support the implementation of a new finance system.

The Person

We are looking for an ACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with experience in business partnering, financial project management, and setting budgets and forecasts. Experience in the charity/not-for-profit sector is advantageous, as is knowledge of different funders, philanthropic foundations, government departments, international organisations, businesses, and NGOs. The ideal candidate will be able to present financial information clearly, work with accuracy and consistency, balance multiple deadlines, and have a proactive, self-motivating, and collaborative approach. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels are essential.

ShareAction’s Banking Standards team works towards holding financial institutions accountable for their impact on climate change. We have a history of campaigning on key aspects of banks’ climate strategies – such as their emission reduction targets or fossil fuel policies – and we are gradually expanding our work to include other sustainability themes and banking regulation. We have achieved significant wins, such as contributing to HSBC becoming the world’s largest bank to cease financing for new oil and gas fields, Barclays dramatically reducing its oil sands financing, and mobilising investors to call on Societe Generale to set a renewable energy target.

The team is structured around two main pillars: our campaigning and our research pillar. The research pillar ensures that the team’s campaigning and advocacy work is based on sound analysis and facts. The Senior Research Manager oversees the research pillar, currently composed of three more junior researchers. The Senior Research Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a research strategy that underpins campaign needs for analysis and insight in line with campaign timelines and available resources. You will oversee and contribute to the delivery of high-quality research outputs, including thematic reports, investor briefings, and surveys of Europe’s largest banks, and ensure that they are underpinned by clear and robust research methodologies. Alongside the Head of Banking Programme and the Senior Campaign Manager, you’ll act as an ambassador for the team in external forums, the media, and when meeting with and presenting to external stakeholders, including banks, civil society organisations, and investors.

Oversee the success of our Networks and Groups for staff from hospices across the UK, ensuring they remain coordinated, consistent and informed by experts and evidence. 

Collaborate closely with subject matter experts across the charity, to help deliver plan and deliver these virtual groups, which involve multiple hospice staff and external stakeholders across different subject areas.

Deliver and grow our integral Big Conversations series, which brings the hospice sector together on the biggest issues of the day.

We’re looking for someone who takes a consistent project management approach to leading virtual networks and large online meetings/webinars. Building strong internal and external relationships will be vital.

You might be working in the charity sector already, or bring strong technical experience delivering virtual events or online membership networks from other sectors. You don’t need to have a background in healthcare.

You’ll join a close, 16-strong Programmes Team at Hospice UK, made up of experienced clinicians, sector-leading project and event managers, and specialists in evidence and research. We work together and alongside external experts, to design and deliver evidence-based programmes, projects and events, which help hospices provide the very best care in their communities.
