About the Role

As the Senior Partnership & Innovation Officer, you will support the CEO in the progression of the Children's Community by developing and maintaining relationships with a wide range of community groups, organisations, partnerships and networks across the Children's Community, Greater Manchester and nationally. Working with local communities and partners, you will help generate the learning and evidence required to fulfil the national change strategy through the delivery, development and testing of effective and evidence-informed practice.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of community groups, organisations, partnerships and networks across the Children's Community, Greater Manchester and nationally.

• Support the development and delivery of SSH CC's Local System Change and innovation agenda.

• Capture and share learning from local delivery to support national influence, including the creation of case studies, events and resources.

• Share learning and identify opportunities to scale and support community best practice.

• Develop and manage effective communication strategies to raise the visibility of SSH CC. 

About You

To be successful, you should have:

• A strong background in engaging with families and communities to co-develop strategies and programmes.

• Experience in working collaboratively with partner organisations, building and managing partnerships in educational or community settings.

• Skilled communicator with the ability to adapt messaging across audiences and platforms, with a strong understanding and application of digital tools for data collection, analysis, and communications (e.g. websites, social media).

• A sound understanding of the impact of poverty on families and the systemic barriers communities face.

The salary for this position will be between £30,000 - £34,000 depending on experience. This is a full time post at 36 hours per work and will be offered on a permanent basis. We will consider making this a part-time appointment, but no less than 0.8 FTE.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to provide high quality evidence-based speech and language therapy, which promotes the participation, function and safe care of children and young people accessing The Children’s Trust.

Your aim is to deliver child and family focused goal led interventions supporting those with speech, language and communication needs and to those with dysphagia needs.
To support the service for those children and young people with tracheostomies, within the limits of skills and competencies.

Role Requirements

• Support the provision of high quality, evidence informed speech and language therapy assessments and interventions for children and young people attending The Children’s Trust, in partnership with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Devise suitable, individual, plans that fit within the child’s daily routine, whether to be carried out by therapists, parents or members of the Multidisciplinary team; these should be monitored, evaluated and adjusted appropriately according to the needs of the child.
• Facilitate involvement of family and carers in the rehabilitation process, including day-to-day activities, and the handing over of practical skills and care.
• Be an autonomous practitioner with responsibility for assessment, treatment and planning for an allocated caseload of children/young people.
• Work closely with all members of the Multidisciplinary team, as well as the child and family, to provide a fully integrated approach to the overall management of the child. This will include any home/school visits, professional child related meetings and / or appointments, as required.
• Liaise with all appropriate medical staff, whether employed by The Children’s Trust, visiting consultants or at off-site clinics, and attend clinics with the child as required.
• Contribute to the assessment and discussion of new referrals to The Children’s Trust, carrying out on virtual and off-site referral assessments around the United Kingdom, as required.
• Contribute to child related reports, including looked after children and annual review reports as required, and assist with the collation of these as and when required, in a timely manner and in line with organisational targets.
• Utilise patient reported and standardised outcome measures for each allocated child/young person and complete in a timely manner.
• Assess, evaluate, and recommend discharge/transition plans for children/young people within the multidisciplinary team framework.
• Provide clinical cover across the service during episodes of staff shortage/heavy workload, in order to ensure effective service delivery.
• Work flexibly in terms of hours, in order to meet the needs of the service, including an early evening (maximum one per week) and weekend day (maximum one per month).
• Represent the Therapy Team and The Children’s Trust when appropriate, deputising for the Head of Therapy - Rehabilitation, as required.
• Actively participate in and support the running of relevant meetings.
• To undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

Engagement Manager, these two roles will work closely together to support the growth of our Community Giving Program from £310,000 to £650,000 over the next three years.

You will hold a full UK driving license and be willing to travel across our catchment area to meet supporters.

About the Role

As a Caller Support Officer, you will:

• Provide expert advice and guidance on caller support policies and procedures to volunteers and staff.
• Work closely with branches, the Caller Support & Safeguarding Hub, and Central Office to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
• Help manage support for callers with complex mental health needs, ensuring appropriate boundaries and reducing dependency on the service.
• Be a key point of contact for police, coroners, court officials, and other external agencies.
• Support the triaging of caller concern forms and work closely with callers to create safe effective support plans that meet their needs within the boundaries of the service.
• Uphold Samaritans’ zero-tolerance approach to any abuse of threatening behaviours towards volunteers and staff

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who:

• Has experience with working in a helpline setting, to support volunteers to deliver safe and effective emotional support to individuals in distress or with complex emotional/mental health needs, ideally in a helpline setting.
• Understands safeguarding legislation and has experience applying it in practice.
• Is confident managing sensitive and sometimes confrontational situations.
• Can work independently and manage a varied workload effectively.
• Has experience working with external agencies such as police and court officials.
• Is emotionally resilient and able to handle distressing information with professionalism and care.

Criminal record check (DBS):  

We take safeguarding seriously at Samaritans and follow safe recruitment practices. As this role has direct contact with children and adults at risk, this role will require an Enhanced DBS check with Adults and Children’s Barred Lists.

This is a new role within the Bereavement Support Service proactively engaging bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support digital enquiries, working in a team to deliver and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.

The aim of this post is to provide consistent, high-quality emotional support via digital channels to bereaved families who seek support from the Lullaby Trust.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Proactively engage bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support digital enquiries, working in a team to deliver and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.

· Assist with the setting up of new digital channels to be used by the Lullaby Trust to answer and respond to bereaved families.

· To be the primary contact for the bereavement support digital services including WhatsApp, text, webchat and other social media channels.

· Proactively engage with bereaved families through social media and other online platforms.

· Ensure any safeguarding concerns are actioned in accordance with the organisations Safeguarding policy.

· Send materials to bereaved contacts, including bereavement packs and follow up emails and ensure all documents and databases are updated with each contact in line with the department guidelines, including Raiser’s Edge, Excel databases.

· Cover and answer the bereavement support helpline and online enquiries responding within the set guidelines and KPIs for the department.

· Ensure any messages on Bereavement Support Facebook Groups are monitored and advice is given via befrienders where appropriate.

Role Purpose
This is a key role to oversee RDA UK’s approach to safeguarding, supporting senior management and working with external partners. This is crucial to maintain good practice, resources, quality and support to RDA Groups which includes driving RDA safeguarding training.

1. To ensure RDA UK has effective safeguarding practices:

• work in collaboration with the RDA UK Designated Safeguarding Lead and other relevant RDA UK staff and volunteers to plan, deliver and review projects that improve outcomes for children and adults at risk, within the RDA UK network

• provide advice to the RDA UK team and working groups on safeguarding best practice, policies and requirements, including specific projects or events

• deal promptly with enquiries from RDA Groups concerning policies, procedures and training requirements and respond to feedback received

• maintain the safeguarding content on the ‘MyRDA’ website, ensuring it is current, clear and relevant

• provide guidance to RDA Groups signposting them to resources for disclosure checks

• develop and maintain safeguarding training materials, and coordinate the delivery of regular accredited courses and workshops (both tutor led and e-learning), in conjunction with RDA UK Trainers and relevant external bodies

You will be joining an impactful local organisation at a crucial time in our development. Since 2021 we have grown significantly and sustainably, developing new services based on client needs.
