As Communications and Policy Officer, your role will be to raise awareness and increase understanding of Pause and the experiences of the women we work with in order to achieve positive change at both a national and local level.

This is a new role, sitting within the Partnerships and Engagement team, although you will work with colleagues across the whole organisation.

About the role

As a Children’s Residential Worker, you will directly look after children and young people who have complex emotional and mental health needs due to trauma, loss and other adverse experiences.

You will be required to support children to regulate and understand their emotions. Working within a therapeutic framework, you will develop a direct programme of work aimed at developing authentic relationships with our children and young people (aged 12 – 17 years old on admission to the Children’s Home).

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Family Services Practitioner to assist with the provision of our whole family holistic approach. About the role

As Policy and Research Manager (Regions), you will play a central role in developing policy and research that supports ambitious, place-based strategies to tackle child poverty in England. You'll work closely with colleagues in place-based partnerships as well as metro mayors, local partners and policy communities—to ensure our advocacy is grounded in lived experience, responsive to regional dynamics, and informed by strong evidence. You'll produce high-impact insights, briefings, and policy proposalsthat advance long-term, practical change particularly through levers at local and regional levels,

In this role, you will: 

• Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge on the drivers of child poverty, with a focus on marginalised children and families and how poverty is experienced differently across England.
• Co-design and deliver regional policy and research proposals in partnership with children, young people, families, and place-based organisations.
• Provide timely political and policy analysis of metro mayors and regional powers to support regional influencing and advocacy strategies.
• Produce high-quality reports, briefings, and literature reviews for diverse audiences including policymakers, sector partners and civil society.
• Lead or contribute to innovative research projects (including primary research) that amplify voices from communities and support policy change.
• Build strong relationships within the national and regional policy community and play a key role in internal and external collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Proven experience in developing policy or research related to social justice, poverty or public services, ideally in a regional or local context.
• Strong research skills with experience designing and delivering evidence-based projects, and an ability to produce impactful written outputs for external use.
• A good understanding of the political and policy environment in England, including devolution and metro mayoral structures.
• A commitment to co-producing policy and research with people who have lived experience of poverty, with a strong understanding of inclusive practice.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage external stakeholders and influence decision-makers.
• Commitment to Save the Children's vision, mission and values.

Ways of Working:

About the Role

This is a really exciting time to join CHIPS (Christian International Peace Service) as we approach our 60th anniversary — with deep roots in peacemaking and a fresh vision for the years ahead. We’ve recently launched a new organisation-wide strategy, and we’re looking for a passionate and dynamic Programme Manager to lead its implementation within our Brixton project.

You’ll be stepping into a unique and influential role, responsible for shaping and growing our work in South London. As the Programme Manager, you will oversee our team in Brixton — including the Family Support Coordinator, the Connection Builder (Youth and Comms), and a group of dedicated Sessional Youth Workers. The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, oversight and curation to the FYT Leadership Team, and to lead the smooth running of the FYT Organisation which supports the wider FYT Movement. This will include coordinating the delivery of the strategic plan, leading fundraising, and working closely with the FYT Board to oversee the smooth running of the organisation.

Hours: 22.5 hrs per week
Salary: £24,116 per annum (£40,194 pro rata) + 9% pension
Holidays: 5 weeks plus bank holidays and 3 additional days at Christmas
Location: Working from home, with nationwide travel expected

Key Responsibilities:

2. Lead the FYT staff team – supporting, supervising, enabling and encouraging and ensuring appropriate HR functions are carried out. 
3. Lead the fundraising strategy for the organisation, giving attention to securing grants, as well as donor fundraising . Report as necessary to funders.
4. Work with the Finance Officer to manage the budget and finances within the parameters agreed by the Board.
5. Facilitate the effective function of the Leadership Team, enabling the smooth and efficient carrying out of the strategic priorities.
6. Provide Line Management support and supervision to the other members of the Leadership Team.
7. Develop, implement and monitor FYT’s strategic plan in partnership with the FYT team and board
8. Engage in practical theological reflection on FYT’s mission and how it is expressed.
9. Attend and contribute as required to Board meetings, working closely with the Chair and Board to ensure that appropriate issues are raised, and that any agreed action is put into effect.
10. Be an advocate for marginalised young people, the issues they face, and youth workers and projects working with them (pursuing prophetic mischief, provocation, and taking up our unique space in the youth ministry community).
11. Make links with appropriate Christian, voluntary and statutory bodies and to represent FYT in appropriate forums and pursue opportunities for collaborative working.
12. Support the active promotion of the FYT training and resource offer.
13. Lead the monitoring and evaluation (impact assessment) of FYT’s work

Other functions:

1. Meet regularly with Line Manager for supervision.
2. Undertake administration and keep necessary work records.
3. Comply with all FYT policies and procedures.
4. Work collaboratively with the FYT leadership team and Board to ensure that organisational policies are regularly reviewed.

Additional Information

• The Leadership Team is supported by a contract with Giraffe HR that assists in the day to day running of the organisation, primarily managing the finances of the organisation.
• Engagement in ongoing, regular youth work with marginalised young people is not a requirement of this post, but encouraged. FYT will be flexible where possible in order to facilitate this.

We are excited to be recruiting a part-time role for an Operations Manager in our dynamic voluntary sector adolescent mental health service.

Open Door is a young people’s mental health charity that has been based in Haringey, North London for 49 years. It aims to improve mental health and life-chances of young people. We provide an ‘Open Door’ to free, high quality psychological therapy to 12–24-year-olds delivered by experienced and highly trained clinicians. We also support parents and carers, struggling with the issues their children face. We aim for access to be simple and over half of those we support, self-refer. Many young people who come to us have significant mental health difficulties and have faced barriers to services. Open Door delivers evidence informed practice and has been commended for our ambitious approach to outcome driven care. 

Open Door  received national recognition for  impact, as a 2024 finalist for Health Service Journal (HSJ) Award for Reducing Inequality and Improving Outcomes for Children and Young People  Open Door is community embedded, integrated into the local mental health infrastructure, commissioned by North Central London Integrated Care Board and part of the Haringey Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service single-point-of-access. We have a strategic voice which is used to advocate for young people’s mental health and influence practice. Last year we supported over 800 young people, parents and carers and offered over 8000 appointments. This is an exciting time to join Open Door. The candidate will have key role in ensuring Open Door’s operations are efficient and effective.

Open Door works from our bases in Crouch End and Tottenham and provides services in local secondary schools and the @Haringey Autism Hub. Most of our work is delivered in person ad this is what most young people tell us they want. Demand for the service is high.
