Summary
- Provide strategic consultancy to help, support, advise and partner with a portfolio of dioceses in the north of the country as they develop their mission, people and financial plans in line with strategic priorities of the Church's Vision and Strategy.
- Support and advise diocesan leadership teams in the design, review and implementation of their strategic funded programmes, including missional and structural design, moving from planning to implementation, introducing appropriate programme governance, attending programme boards and advising on delivery.

- A salary of £66,186 per annum plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of salary.

Senior Church Buildings Officer
Hours: Full time – 35 hours/week

Help us make churches more Single Friendly
Single Friendly Church Network encourages churches to welcome and value single people at every stage of life. We are experiencing an exciting new chapter where our work and influence is growing across a wide range of denominations. We want to reach more churches across the UK who could benefit from our resources and training, with the vision that all single Christians will be able to find a welcoming Single Friendly Church in their local area where they can flourish.
We achieved charitable status in 2023 and have a newly refined purpose and identity set out in a new website and other digital media (see for example our YouTube Channel and the promotional film ‘Inspiring Change’).
We now aim to expand our impact across the UK and deepen our engagement with churches from a wide range of Christian denominations, in accordance with our strategy.
Fundraising Consultancy Role
In order to achieve our objectives, we are seeking a Fundraising Consultant to develop and implement a strategy to:
- Diversify our funding base and raise new grants and donations to support our work;
- Raise specific funding to develop a small team of Regional Champions in the regions of the UK, working part-time to grow our network of Single Friendly Churches;
- Secure grant support to refresh our research in order to identify the issues facing single people in the Church and how ‘single friendly’ churches are across the UK.
The Fundraising Consultant will regularly engage with our UK based team and provide quarterly reports to our Trustees. Ideally the Consultant will have the necessary skills to process Gift Aid claims.
The target for funds raised within 12 months is £100K. This will require creativity and a range of initiatives, targeting different potential funding sources.
Person Spec:
- Experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies for charities;
- Able to provide evidence of significant success in fundraising;
- Record of working collaboratively with teams;
- An understanding of Christian culture and the different Christian traditions;
- Experience of fundraising for Christian-based charities;
- A strong commitment to our beliefs and mission to encourage churches to welcome and value single people at every stage of life.
Contract Terms
Initially this is a 12 month contract
At least 20 hours per month on a freelance basis
Negotiable fees according to experience, in the range £40-£70 per hr

- Building on the work to date, develop a financial sustainability strategy around giving which will form part of a major long-term strategic bid to the national CofE for funding to support the delivery of our vision and strategy.
- Create the project plan and resource requirements (including people resources) for delivery.
- Develop an approach to engage parishes and oversight areas.
- Working with the Project Management Office (PMO) ensure plans for financial sustainability are integrated into our overall strategic plan.
- Deliver the project in line with the project plan and budget.
- Working with HR, recruit the team to deliver the project and provide line management as appropriate based on the new structure.
- Be involved in hands on delivery with parishes to see giving and generosity flow.
- Track progress of the project and all key indicators. Supplying reports to funders, feeding into our governance structures and creating any needed change requests.
- Create a stakeholder management plan and ensure good relationships and engagement with all stakeholders.
- Highly numerate and logical with an understanding of financial principles and how these apply to a medium-sized complex charity.
- Project Management experience with good knowledge and experience in using project tools. The ability to apply those PM skills across complex and sometimes ill-defined structures.
- Good degree of IT literacy.
- Experience in successfully line-managing a team.
- The ability to communicate well in written media and presenting in person, particularly with a view to influencing stakeholders.
- An understanding of, or ideally experience of working with volunteers, or those outside of a line management hierarchy.
- An understanding of generosity and giving as a key part of Christian discipleship, and how these are informed by theology across different traditions and scripture.
- An understanding of the structure, organisation and culture of the Church of England would be helpful.
- Understanding of how parish finances work and the Common Fund system would be helpful.
- An appreciation of theology and discipleship as they apply to generosity and giving.
- Strong influencing skills are vital.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present credibly to clergy and laity in parishes.
- Ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and diplomacy to achieve desired outcome.
- Innovative and creative approach to problem solving
- Adaptability and willingness to consider a range of options and possibilities when working with others.
- The ability to plan, self-organise and prioritise effectively within complex structures in order to achieve objectives.

- The role holder will need to travel to parishes across the breadth of the diocese which includes city, suburban, market-town and rural contexts, and therefore the ability to drive and access to a car would be beneficial
The Diocese of Truro is committed to responding to God’s call to serve those in poverty. It is a call throughout scripture and the tradition of the church. As we undertake a grassroots change aimed at positioning the Church in Cornwall to tackle some of the biggest spiritual and societal needs we have faced, we respond to this calling in many ways, and one of these is through the role of the Social Responsibility Officer (SRO).
As SRO you will help parishes and deaneries respond to the social needs in their community. This will focus particularly on the effective use of the Lowest Income Communities Fund, and other resources, to make a real difference to people’s lives.
Much of this work will involve working alongside volunteers and clergy in parishes to identify local need and the appropriate responses to help meet this need; supporting them to develop projects including measures of success. The role is also about promoting the prophetic call to serve those in need; building networks and trusting relationships across the Diocese; and acting as a persistent advocate and champion within, and beyond the Diocese, for those at the margins of society.
You will have significant experience of working with vulnerable people and doing so in in partnership with a range of stakeholders. Being able to manage multiple projects, including budgets; build the capacity of others and be effective and proactive in communicating are all key. An understanding, and appreciation of, God’s call to serve the poor is essential as is being comfortable in talking about Christian faith and theology.

River Church Ipswich is an HTB Network church plant in the town centre of Ipswich, which launched in September 2021 and has already grown quickly into a thriving resource church, with a congregation of more than 200, and three Sunday services.
The Spear Centre Manager will work as part of the River Church staff team to oversee the delivery of Spear—an employability programme equipping and empowering unemployed 16-24 year-olds to overcome barriers to employment and their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.

Key Responsibilities
Website
- Responsibility for maintenance and development of Resurgo’s website, delivering engaging content with a focus on dynamic visuals and videos, tailored to our different website audiences.
- Optimise user journeys across all Resurgo’s digital channels.
Partnership liaison and relationship management
- Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.
- Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.
Oversight of Spear Programme Spear
Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.
- As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
- Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
- Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education
Line management and training
- Manage the Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
- Be line managed by River Church staff, locally, and by Resurgo, nationally, to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPI.
Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry
- You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help the Assistant coaches to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
- Ensuring the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church
- Work with the Head of Operations and Fundraising Assistant to prepare successful grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
- Attend and participate in Staff Meeting, Tuesday morning Prayer Meeting, and Sunday Services (serving on a team at one or more Sunday service) • Regularly pray for Spear, River Church, and in particular our Social Transformation work.
- Attending other River Church events and services, occasionally speaking and/or contributing as required • Ad hoc tasks and other project work.
Site management
- Liaise with relevant staff locally on site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.

About the role
Church Engagement and Fundraising Officers (CEFO) inspire churches and individuals to be agents of change within Christian Aid, to live our values and mission to overcome poverty. Your role will offer bespoke support, often face-to-face, to a defined set of churches and Christian Aid groups enabling and enriching their contributions. As a CEFO you will motivate churches, groups and individuals to give, act and pray building on the agency of supporters and developing volunteers within their area of work.

· Implement a CRM system to oversee the above aspects.
· Share best practice and learning from other charities across the Trussell network.
· Support our partnership work with other Trussell based foodbanks in Surrey to address poverty.
Through this new organisational role, you will proactively create and grow fundraising income opportunities with individuals, community groups, the faith sector and grant giving trusts and foundations. Net Zero Property Officer
The Vacancy
We are offering this unique and exciting opportunity to join in the work of the Connexional Property Support and Environmental Engagement teams and the wider Methodist Church in helping to deliver the strategic target to make all our church property net zero by 2030.
You will be based in the Property Support team, working alongside the Director and colleagues within the team to provide the essential support and guidance the team offers to Trustees, Ministers, Connexional colleagues and the wider church. You will also be working closely with other Connexional colleagues outside the team, particularly the Director of Environmental Engagement and Action for Hope Implementation Officer.
In particular, your role will provide a crucial focus at a critical time - helping to guide Trustees and Ministers on how to make our church property net zero. Enabling them to make informed choices and contribute to the promotion and delivery of the Methodist Church’s Action for Hope strategy
Through your specific knowledge and experience, you will also have input into the provision of guidance, advice, communications, training and good practice for District Property Officers and the wider Methodist Church on net zero property matters.
This is an office or home-based role, with the post holder focussing on supporting churches nationally. You may be required to travel to our offices in Church House, London and other locations around the country as necessary.
About You
We are looking for someone who wants to make a positive contribution to the work of the Property Support team and be equally comfortable collaborating in a team environment or under your own initiative. You will have experience supporting a senior team, and preferably have relevant knowledge for the role such as environmental, climate or property in this context.
As the role will underpin and contribute to supporting the team’s work with external colleagues, particularly the District Property Officer network, it is essential that you are comfortable in engaging with a range of stakeholders, and have excellent organisational skills, particularly in terms of resourcing and training.
The role will be very collaborative with team colleagues, and therefore experience and ability to plan, research and assimilate new information alongside the analysis and delivery of projects will be an essential quality.

Samaritan’s Purse is looking for a well-connected individual to act as our London/South Donor Ministries contact. This would either be a Donor Ministries Associate or Donor Ministries Manager.
The role is full time, with one day a week based from our National Ministry Centre in Coventry.
The role will involve working some Sundays, when church opportunities occur.
To be suitable for this role you will need to good networking leads within a Christian context. You will enjoy getting to know people and prayerfully nurturing relationships. Governance Manager
Starting Salary: £43,461 - £46,819 (inc London weighting) – This is the full-time salary, and the salary will be pro rate based on the hours of the post.

Job Profile
CAFOD, one of the 15 member agencies that make up the Disasters Emergency Committee, is the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and stands alongside vulnerable communities across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
CAFOD is seeking a Governance Manager to temporarily support our Leadership & Governance team. Reporting directly to CAFOD’s Director and managing the Leadership & Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective governance, strategic leadership, and strong Trustee relations during this interim period. This is a part-time position requiring two days of commitment per week for approximately six months.
Key Responsibilities
During the period of cover, some of the key responsibilities include:
Governance & Strategic Leadership
- Providing oversight of CAFOD’s Governance work & assisting in the further development and funding of CAFOD’s governance.
- Identify emerging trends in governance and ensure that learning is reflected in CAFOD’s work and proposals.
- Working with the relative department heads to advise the Leadership Team on the likely impact of new initiatives on CAFOD’s current strategy.
- Ensuring CAFOD’s work is in line with Charity Commission requirements and ethical standards are maintained.
Engagement & Reporting
- With the Leadership and Governance Officer and L&G Assistant, to support the Director of CAFOD in managing the relationship between the Board of Trustees and Leadership Team.
- Ensure that all aspects of the Leadership Team and Board meetings are organised and conducted effectively in line with CAFOD’s governance principles.
- Providing strategic guidance and support to CAFOD’s Trustees and Leadership Team
- Developing a plan for the production of CAFOD’s Annual Trustees Report, and project manage its delivery.
- Assist with the external communication of CAFOD’s governance work with key donors and supporters.
Team Leadership
- Providing management/mentoring to the Leadership & Governance Assistant where applicable.
- Working with the Leadership & Governance Officer in planning a governance work programme for 2025.
- Provide guidance and oversight of all critical projects and support the team to deliver its objectives on time and to budget.
- Overseeing the recruitment and induction of trustees to CAFOD’s Board.
Safeguarding
All CAFOD staff share the responsibility to promote and maintain a strong safeguarding culture, including identifying the key actions they should take given their role and responsibilities.
Person Specification
ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience of leading areas of governance alongside building strong professional relationships with trustees.
In addition, the essential criteria for the role will include:
- Experience of direct governance work in a registered charity
- Experience in being responsible for all governance activity, including liaison with the Charity Commission and servicing a Board of Trustees
- A collaborative and supportive management approach, with experience in managing staff especially in a small team setting.
- Ability and willingness to transfer skills in facilitating the development of staff.
