Aid to the Church in Need is a Catholic charity, supporting persecuted and suffering Christians around the world.
Based in Scotland and working alongside our Scottish office, in Motherwell, this role will engage with the Dioceses in Scotland to establish and strengthen links to individual bishops and diocesan communications staff.
Raise the level of awareness of the activities of this Catholic charity’s pastoral and spiritual work;
To increase the number of active benefactors of Aid to the Church in Need by collecting the names and contact details of those who wish to receive information about our work;
Inspire people to make donations;
Attend parishes to deliver weekend fundraising appeals as well as giving talks and presentations to parish groups. Developing strong links for ACN with educational and pastoral networks in Schools, Colleges and Universities in order to build relationships and support them in delivering the ACN Schools Programme and expanding the take up of the programme, increasing school engagement and delivering assemblies in person and virtually.
The post holder will be part of a thriving, positive Community Outreach team culture. Working collaboratively across the team and the freedom to make full use of individual experience and specific skill sets will be the norm. This post is ideal for a creative, enthusiastic fundraiser who is self-motivated, willing to learn from others and keen to make a real difference in the lives of suffering and persecuted Christians around the world.
Working 37.5 hours flexibly across the week (to include some weekends) this role will invove vising different parishes in Scotland therefore a driving licence and access to a car is essential.

As the Director for Intercultural Learning and Collaboration, you will be responsible for:
- Sharing in the overall leadership of BMS as part of the Executive Director Team
- Providing strategic leadership to facilitate intercultural learning and collaboration among the Majority World church
- Developing a team with diverse, key skills to strengthen collaboration and learning across established and emerging hubs, networks and partnerships
This role has a Specific Occupational Requirement for a practising Christian. The successful applicant will be fully in agreement with the BMS vision. The recruitment process will include specific checks related to safeguarding issues.

Location: Based in a city in the Global South, with remote working and visits to the UK
Type: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary range: The salary will be set at the national equivalent of a UK salary of between £54K and £60K and based on relative national salary levels of the relevant Global South country

About Urban Saints
Around 96% of young people today do not actively engage with church. The mission of Urban Saints is to make young disciples for Jesus, meeting young people wherever they are and introducing them to Jesus. With more young people engaged with technology than ever in history, the need for digital mission has never been greater.
Overall Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a Digital Transformation Lead to join the team, who will pioneer and develop the digital capability of Urban Saints to be more effective at reaching young people digitally, as well as laying the groundwork to ensure that Urban Saints can engage more meaningfully in its existing ministry areas through digital solutions. The role will involve bridging the gap between Urban Saints' digital strategy and digital reality, by transforming mission ideas into real-life workable solutions. The role will also work alongside and train those who will be creating digital content and engaging young people online.
Key Responsibilities
- To be a digital pioneer, leading Urban Saints as we develop and deliver our new digital strategy.
- To develop Urban Saints’ use of various platforms to implement key digital initiatives from the Urban Saints digital strategy. The digital strategy focuses on four areas:
- Digital Resources (including our website and Energize product)
- Digital Marketing and Comms (across social media channels)
- Digital Communities
- Innovative Digital Engagement
- To build, and then lead, and coach team members in the use of digital solutions within ministry.
- As part of the delivery of the Digital Strategy, to research, scope, and implement new digital capabilities, including digital youth groups, gaming, online evangelism, virtual reality etc., in partnership with other like-minded organisations.
- Reporting directly to the CEO, to lead on the digital capability, contributing to the development and achievement of the Urban Saints' vision, mission, and strategic plan.
- To be an advocate for all Urban Saints’ ministries, including Energize, Additional Needs, and Westbrook, ensuring our digital strategy both promotes and integrates with the wider organisation.
- Research, measure, and evidence the impact of the digital strategy against the strategic Key Performance Indicators for Urban Saints.
- To deliver regular reports on progress of the digital strategy including development and delivery of digital assets and impact across the Urban Saints movement.

The Director of Development and Engagement is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and works in partnership with the CEO to lead the development, delivery and co-ordination of the organisation’s strategy.
In this role, you will have oversight across several areas including fundraising, membership engagement, finance and governance and will take the lead in generating income and ensuring the sustainability of the organisation.
The post also holds line management responsibility for three members of staff delivering across multiple areas of work including fundraising, finance, and communications.
