The post holder will report to the Clinical Director of the Network to support the development and growth of the PCN. This role will work in partnership with our current Network Lead who manages our Operations team and current Network services.
This Network lead will be responsible for managing the Picton PCN Clinical team of 14, plus the 7 staff we employ through our partnerships with the mental health trust, a local hospital, and our social prescribing service.
Alongside the team management responsibilities, the successful applicant will be responsible for two key workstreams: Digital and Quality.
The Network Lead forms an integral part of the PCN leadership team working alongside the Clinical Director, Network Lead, and member Practices, playing a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality care within the PCN.
Main duties of the job:
1. People management responsibility for the clinical network team.
2. Responsible for the creation and delivery of PCN quality & digital strategy.
3. Support and delivery of the wider PCN projects.

Picton PCN are seeking a candidate with excellent people management experience. The successful applicant does not need to have managed clinical staff before or have NHS experience. We will focus on hiring someone who we feel can manage effectively in a complex environment across multiple sites and will add to the strong culture already within the team.

Picton PCN is an innovative and diverse Network comprising of 6 individual GP practices that support 50,000 patients in the central Liverpool area. Each GP practice varies in their procedures and processes but collaborate well together to serve our community.
We have a Network team that consists of Pharmacists, Physios, Paramedics, Link Workers, Care Coordinators, and a Mental Health team.

Recruitment open for Chair of the Patient and Carer Network
The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) invites applicants for this exciting role to chair its Patient Carer Network (PCN). The Chair will lead the PCN’s volunteers and make sure their views are considered throughout the College.
The RCP has worked with its PCN since 2004 to ensure that the perspectives of people with lived experience are reflected in our activities. We believe this continuous dialogue between the people who lead and the people who use services is critical to achieving our aims and delivering the RCP’s strategy 2022 – 2024.
The PCN currently consists of around 40 volunteers from across England and Wales who are passionate about improving healthcare for all. Some network members have knowledge of the breadth of the health and care sector, others bring knowledge of specific health and social care experiences – all bring insights that are invaluable to the RCP.
The PCN and the Chair of the PCN are supported by a Patient Involvement Officer and a Network Involvement and Engagement Manager. The RCP’s Patient Involvement Officer, Dr Laura Waters, is a senior physician with specific responsibility for amplifying the voice of patients and carers and in building capabilities to equip those working across the RCP with the skills to engage and listen to that voice.
Chair of the Patient Carer Network - the role
The role offers the opportunity to influence the College’s work focusing on improving health and care and leading the prevention of ill-health across communities, educating physicians and supporting them to fulfil their potential and influencing the way healthcare is designed and delivered.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside senior doctors, healthcare professionals, patient and carer representatives and College staff to make sure the voices of patients and carers are central and heard throughout the work of the College. You will represent the RCP’s PCN at external meetings and build relationships with patient and carer charities and national organisations to help the RCP meet its strategic aims to improve health and care and shape the way that healthcare is designed and delivered.
You will lead a diverse group of volunteers to help us deliver on the RCP Patient Carer Network’s Strategy You will champion the PCN and equip network members to work effectively in support of RCP strategic priorities and values, across a range of activities. You will bring the passion, energy and enthusiasm to strengthen an inclusive patient and carer voice in the work of the College.

Interview and appointment to role
Shortlisting will be completed during the week commencing 2 January 2024. Candidates are expected to be available for a remote interview via MS Teams on the morning of Thursday 11 January 2024 or the morning of Wednesday 17 January 2024. Candidates will also participate in an assessment where they will meet members of the Patient Carer Network in person in the RCP office in London.
The start date for the role will be February 2023. The tenure will be for two years with an opportunity to renew for a further two years following review with the clinical vice president.
The time commitment is on average 4-6 days per month. The successfully appointed candidate will be entitled to receive an honorarium of £4,000 per year and reasonable expenses will be paid in line with the RCP’s expenses policy.

Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing in community settings and ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care.

Can you make sure that kinship carers in England receive high quality, user centred training online and in person?
About the role
We have been awarded the Department for Education contract to deliver high quality training to kinship carers across England. You will be responsible for delivering high quality online and face-to-face training and managing a team of inhouse facilitators and external partners.
This is a new team so you will need to be someone who is comfortable with a high level of ambiguity and who is able to build outcome and target driven services from a user centred approach. We have a lot to do over the next 18 months.
From April 2024 to March 2025, your team will need to deliver exceptional training to 4,000 kinship carers in England through in person and online sessions. These are divided into introductory and advanced training. We will be delivering at least 16 roadshows across England so travel will be required in this role. In person training will also involve experiential learning in peer support groups and community venues. Introductory training will be delivered in-house.
You will also work with external expert facilitators and partners to develop new advanced training sessions and modules. Subject experts within Kinship, will also deliver training and you will need to ensure content and delivery meets a consistent standard.
The right person will need to work collaboratively with colleagues across Kinship and be used to working in cross-functional teams. You’ll need to be curious, detail orientated with an improvement mindset.

About the role:
We have been awarded a Department for Education contract to deliver high quality training to kinship carers across England, which will complement our existing progammes and services, including our national Peer-to-Peer Programme, innovative programmes commissioned by local authorities in England and Wales and our free information and advice services including Kinship Compass.
In order to reach and support more kinship carers with these programmes and services, we are building a new Marketing Team – comprising a Head of Marketing, Marketing Manager and Marketing Officer - to develop and deliver integrated, strategic and creative marketing campaigns and strategies.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, senior-level marketeer with a strong track record in overseeing the development and delivery of effective and successful multi-channel marketing strategies targeted at a range of audiences to join us as our Head of Marketing. We’re looking for someone excited to hit the ground running in developing a new team and function, and who is able to plan strategically and creatively about how to maximise engagement and acquisition with a small in-house team. You will play a crucial role in supporting Kinship’s growth including through income generation, by increasing brand awareness and developing compelling marketing offers for key audiences including kinship carers, local authorities and referral partners.
A strategic thinker and natural collaborator, you’ll be able to work across the organisation to develop integrated marketing strategies and plans across all of Kinship’s services and programmes, and ensure these align with our wider external communications, including to our Kinship Community of around 12,000 carers. You’ll also be comfortable getting involved in the operational delivery of our marketing plans, supporting your team of two and demonstrating an insight and audience-led approach to both digital and offline marketing, thriving in an environment where you’ll be responsible for overseeing the progress of various strands of marketing activity.
You will have significant experience in leading marketing teams in the charity sector, and have demonstrable experience in delivering successful, engaging marketing strategies in-house. You will have experience of operating at a senior management level – perhaps as a Senior Manager, Head of or other senior-level role, adept at working with senior level internal and external stakeholders.
