The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to increase awareness of hepatitis C, reduce stigma, and promote access to testing and treatment for people living with hepatitis C. 

Do you have experience of working in drug services and with volunteers? Have you been affected by hepatitis C, or have you supported anyone who has hepatitis C? We are looking for a passionate and skilled peer lead who has excellent communication and organisational skills. We require a good standard of education and welcome creativity and innovation in all our work.  

Working as part of a growing team, this post will continue the development and delivery of the Hepatitis C peer project, recruiting and supporting volunteer peers across Bristol and Weston and surrounding areas. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing in community settings, ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care. 

This post will require extensive travel across the region and it’s desirable the post holder holds a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist, to join our Pharmacy Team. This role will require the successful candidate to lead a co-ordinated pharmacy service which meets the needs of the children, is cost effective and efficient. To assume responsibility for the clinical pharmacy service as identified and to supervise the procurement, preparation, dispensing and distribution of medicines, whilst supervising staff members in the delivery of the medicine management service. Role Requirements

To lead in the pharmacy service in the absence of the Principal Pharmacist to ensure services are of the highest standards of quality, are evidence based and meet the needs of the children. Manage, co-ordinate and provide day-to-day clinical pharmacy services to The Children’s Trust, supervise the procurement, preparation, dispensing and distribution of medicines across the site and ensure medication is procured in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Working collaboratively with the local Substance Misuse Service in Liverpool, we are expanding this commitment through the introduction of a Harm Reduction Peer Support Lead to support the delivery of a peer led Harm Reduction service in this area.

This role is an opportunity to work for Mind BLMK as part of the Milton Keynes NHS mental health service for someone with experience working in health, social care or information and advice, in direct contact with service users.

Working alongside colleagues from Central Northwest London Foundation Trust (CNWL) this role will provide referral management to and from Secondary Services. This will include signposting patients to statutory services including talking therapies and wider community based & voluntary sector support.

The Community Navigator will work as part of the team to deliver on the aims and objectives of the Mental Health Hub whilst representing the Voluntary and Community sector with the NHS.

Service Delivery

• Work within the NHS Mental Health SPA (Single Point of Access) Team to review and process referrals received from GP Practices and other sources including those to be subsequently triaged and assessed by mental health practitioners.
• Actively call patients with a view to assisting them through the process and making their onward appointments into community or secondary care service providers.
• Support the hub to signpost patients and direct them to appropriate services including secondary care, the local Voluntary and Community sector services and activities that support the patients’ wider determinates of their mental health and wellbeing.
• Answer calls, ensure sufficient phone cover, respond to messages/voicemails, provide administrative support to the Mental Health SPA for all services and deal with queries in a sensitive and timely way liaising with clinical or team lead as is appropriate.
• Monitor service inboxes during core office hours, responding to any queries professionally providing helpful information.
• Monitor and action tasks within SystmOne and maintain records of all activities carried out, i.e. outbound calls, calls received, archiving any received correspondence.
• Build good working relationships with the voluntary and community sector, relevant services and activities to ensure signposting pathways are kept up to date as well navigating and developing the setup of new signposting pathways through networking.
• Provide clinical and non-clinical information in appropriate chronological templates to other services.
• Carry out health and safety responsibilities as directed by Managers in line with Mind BLMK’s H&S policies, procedures, and guidance (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises).
• To bring VCSE experience, knowledge and culture into an NHS team.

Lead Counsellor (Full-Time)

Reporting to the Project Director, the Lead Counsellor will be leading a team of up to 10 counsellors, overseeing the counselling service of the Ethnic Minority Well-being Centre, an initiative of the HKSAR Government.

The selected candidate will benefit from working in the collaborative and professional environment of a fast-growing Hong Kong NGO, engaging with a group of global mental health advisors as well as contributing to the betterment of Hong Kong community’s ethnic minority population.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the Ethnic Minority Well-Being Centre’s cases, protocols, supervision, administration and capacity building, including but not limited to the following:

• Oversee all cases accepted by the Ethnic Minority Well-being Centre and ensure the counselling team are conducting counselling treatments according to the standard practices and protocols of the Centre.

• Work with Project Manager to manage screening and intake of all cases, and assign cases to appropriate counsellors

• Work with Counsellors to manage risk assessments and the case follow-up process with clients, and filing of these notes.

• Work closely with Senior Management on managing protocols around potential clients and  clients with suicidal risks

• Provide supervision to the counsellor team

• Provide direct counselling to clients

• Review and enhance service protocols as necessary

• Provide necessary information of counselling cases for reporting purpose to stakeholders and funder

• Develop content and deliver talks, including capacity building training, for social workers, mental health professionals, teachers, NGO staff and other stakeholders

• Lead Counsellor will also be expected to be under supervision by an external experienced counsellor and should meet the supervisor once every month

The individual MUST:

• Be a registered clinical psychologist recognized by one of the following organisations:

  • Hong Kong – Hong Kong Institute of Clinical Psychologists; Hong Kong Psychological Society

  • Australia - Australia Psychology Accreditation Council

  • Canada - Canadian Psychological Association

  • UK - Health and Care Professional Council

  • USA - American Psychological Association

• Be a master degree holder in counselling/clinical psychology or relevant subject discipline;

• Native in English (speaking and writing) and near native (speaking fluently) in at least one of the following languages, Hindi or Urdu, with additional languages such as Pashto, Punjabi or Nepali an advantage.

• At least 10 years of experience in direct psychotherapy/ counselling service delivery and at least 3 years of experience in providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

• Direct supervision experience for at least 3 years

• Experience in managing staff

• Experience of working with target clientele (ethnically Indian, Pakistani, Nepali and Filipino clients) with preference to individual with Hong Kong experience

• Be proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular; Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

• Be self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and strong organisational skills

• Be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot and

Prostate cancer is harming too many men, in exchange for too few cures, which is why we are motivated more than ever to deliver a future where prostate cancer is no longer limiting men’s lives. We invest in the most innovative research which will expand our understanding of prostate cancer and one day improve the lives of men with the disease. Recently we announced the funding of the TRANSFORM study, a £42 million programme to trial on a national scale new ways to screen for prostate cancer. It’s through this initiative that we intend to generate the definitive evidence needed to underpin a national screening programme for prostate cancer which could save thousands of men’s lives each year.

What the job involves

As a Diagnosis Research Lead, you’ll oversee the management of the TRANSFORM study on behalf of the charity, closely monitoring progress and spend against project timelines/budgets and regularly reporting back to key stakeholders internally and externally about this exciting initiative. You’ll regularly liaise with the study leads and the wider network of collaborators, as well as set up and oversee the management of the governance steering committees for the programme.

You’ll develop a detailed understanding of our portfolio of research and the wider diagnostic research landscape for prostate cancer, establishing and maintaining relationships with relevant research groups and companies working in the diagnostic space. This role will also involve working closely with colleagues in our communications and fundraising directorates to showcase the TRANSFORM study to public, scientific and healthcare professional audiences, demonstrating our research efforts towards achieving earlier and accurate diagnosis. 

What we want from you

We believe the TRANSFORM study will generate practice-changing evidence to support screening for prostate cancer, with the potential to save thousands of men’s lives in the UK each year. This is therefore a critical role to us. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about, and experienced in, research grant management and in particular, the management and delivery of multi-site clinical trials.

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about research and able to understand and communicate complex scientific information found in applications, progress reports, research papers and presentations. You’ll be a confident and clear communicator, able to build strong working relationships and provide valuable support to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior researchers, senior colleagues, trustees, corporate partners and committee members.

With experience in project management, you’ll have an ability to organise and prioritise a diverse workload depending on business need, delivering to stipulated timeframes whilst consistently maintaining the highest standards, with a meticulous attention to detail. This role will also require you to be proficient in the use of standard IT packages (most notably Microsoft Office), ideally with experience of grant management software such as Symplectic Grant Tracker.

Importantly, you must be excited and motivated about achieving major improvements for men with, or at high risk of, prostate cancer.

We Are Survivors are looking for new Senior Trauma Informed Therapists to come and join our growing Therapy Services team.

In the role, you will help us to provide key services across Greater Manchester. The therapy team is made up of therapists from various modalities to support men and boys to access the services they need.

By joining Scottish Huntington’s Association (SHA) as a Community and Events Fundraising Officer you can play a full and active role in securing income to improve the lives of families impacted by Huntington’s disease.

Scottish Huntington’s Association is the only charity in the country exclusively dedicated to providing expert and personalised support for those impacted by Huntington’s disease when they need it, regardless of where they live.

Organised, motivated and a confident communicator, you’ll be responsible for driving income and building relationships throughout the East Coast of Scotland, to ensure we have the funds needed to deliver our specialist services for every family impacted by this devastating disease. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds including (but not limited to) account management, marketing, fundraising, event management, or sales, and candidates who are based in any of the following areas: Aberdeenshire, Dundee and Angus, Edinburgh and the Lothians, Fife or Perthshire. 

From supporter stewardship, event management, delivering inspiring presentations, and managing volunteers, no week will be the same. The Community and Events Fundraising Officer (East Coast of Scotland) will be joining a hard-working and talented fundraising team, working closely with our Senior Community, Event & Individual Giving Fundraising Officer, Community and Events Fundraising Officer (West Coast of Scotland), our SHA Communications team, as well as the wider SHA team.

We are looking for an engaging, passionate and tenacious person who can deliver strong, cost effective and sustainable income growth for the charity, along with good copy writing, admin and organisational skills, experienced at developing relationships, and can manage a busy and varied workload. This is a chance for you to channel your varied skills, qualities, and passion for relationship building to improve the lives of families impacted by Huntington’s disease in Scotland.

You will work from home with periodic travel throughout the East Coast of Scotland. There will also be occasional travel required for organisation-wide meetings.

This role will require occasional weekend and evening working for which time off in lieu will be agreed.

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer benefits including flexible working practices, and a generous leave allowance totalling 37 days (25 days Annual leave and 12 days public holidays). Upon 5 completed years of service, you will receive an extra day for each completed year up to a maximum of 5 days, and the the opportunity to opt into our competitive pension scheme.

This is an exciting time for the charity, now in the second year of Standing Tall: A Strategy For Growth 2023 - 2028 to transform the care and support of Huntington’s families, expand specialist services and deepen involvement in research and clinical trials.

Haven House Children’s Hospice supports hundreds of families, looking after children and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Our mission is to provide the highest quality palliative and holistic care services to children and their families in our local communities. Since the hospice began it has gone from strength to strength both in terms of the care we provide to children and families as well as the close bonds we have developed and nurtured with individuals and organisations in our community who are inspired by our work.

This is a great time to join the team at Haven House, our Community & Events team are working on a new strategy to increase income and engagement with our local community. This new and exciting role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work across our community and event income lines, taking responsibility for raising income from a wide variety of supporters.
