1. Managing the diary of the Director of Communications, including making appointments, resolving, or escalating any calendar conflicts, coordinating team meetings, room bookings, hospitality and travel arrangements where appropriate.

Endometriosis impacts the physical and mental health of 10% of women and those assigned female at birth, from puberty to menopause - although the impact can be felt for life. Yet it’s a disease most people have never heard of, do not understand and that has no cure. It costs the UK economy around £8.2 billion every year in healthcare costs, loss of work and treatments and yet it isn’t recognised by most employers. This will be a busy, varied and important role working closely with the Head of Campaigns and Communications to identify opportunities to influence external policy to better support and represent the needs of those with endometriosis. You will be working as part of a passionate team with a strong commitment to achieving change to help those with living with endometriosis. You’ll have a sound knowledge of the UK political landscape and how to influence it and will play an important role in developing our campaigns. Role Summary    

This exciting role will enable Alcohol Change UK to reach millions of people across the UK with key messages about alcohol and alcohol harm, delivered through print, online, and broadcast media engagement tactics. With a high level of existing press interest in our work and campaigns (including our flagship Dry January® campaign), this is an exciting moment as we look to develop our proactive media engagement and share reframed stories about alcohol which resonate with a huge audience. Your work will drive significant awareness of our organisation, and ultimately enable millions of people to transform their relationship with alcohol.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities    

Media engagement  

• Manage the organisation’s media inbox and phone line, handling enquiries from journalists and providing responses in a timely manner

• Provide regular out of hours media cover on a rota basis (scaling depending on busier campaign periods, shared fairly with others and TOIL provided for hours worked)

• Develop public media statements and quotes across the whole spectrum of Alcohol Change UK’s work, issuing to press both reactively and proactively

• Provide ongoing development of our key lines library, regularly reviewing responses we have on file for a range of topics 

• Support Alcohol Change UK spokespeople (Chief Executive, Directors and others) prepare for interviews: developing tailored briefings ahead of opportunities, providing a sounding board to rehearse key lines when required and giving feedback on appearances to support ongoing development

• Manage our media database and reporting tools, providing regular condensed reports for the Director of Communications and Marketing/CEO/Board and develop insights-gathering to better inform our media engagement strategy

• With the Director of Communications and Marketing, play a key role in media crisis management, escalating issues as appropriate, suggesting solutions and developing organisational responses to sensitive situations

• Support the deployment of Alcohol Change UK voices, working closely with the Engagement Team to identify Community Champions, Ambassadors and others who are happy to be supported to share their experiences of alcohol and alcohol harm with the media

Developing a new proactive media strategy  

• Plan and deliver a new strategy for generating proactive media coverage, where Alcohol Change UK’s research, campaigns, parliamentary and wider activity connect with larger audiences in a strategic way

• Working closely with teams across the organisation, craft compelling media plans and press releases to generate coverage of our work

• Bring fresh energy to opportunity spotting, securing opinion pieces, expert comment, letters to editors and other ‘newsjacking’ content – particularly on ‘culture change’ topics such as sober shaming and stigma 

• Manage relationships with key journalists in our sector, exploring opportunities for partnerships and exclusives

Campaign media activity  

• Particularly for our flagship Dry January® campaign, and with the support of the Director of Communications and Marketing, develop media support briefs for external media agencies, when required 

• Develop fresh strategies and media angles for annual campaigns (Dry January®, Sober Spring, Alcohol Awareness Week) to keep activity engaging for public and returning audiences

• Think creatively to craft media strategies which are tailored to reach segmented audience groups, aligning with targets for individual campaigns to reach under-served communities 

• Provide detailed campaign media evaluations, insights and learning reports

Why Access Social Care Exists

Everyday millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us, we will all need social care at some point.

We all have a right to hold public bodies to account. But most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 77% drop in community care legal aid cases since 2010 means we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.

Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. About the role

This is an exciting time to join our organisation. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly including across our senior leadership team. We have nearly tripled in size and income since we started operating in April 2020 and we anticipate that this strong growth will continue for the duration of our next strategic period. Access Social Care are an organisation of thirty-six people, and this is a new role in the People team coming at a period of growth to drive a thriving charity and help shape its future.

This is a fast-paced role whose emphasis is on policy / process / systems improvement as well as advising colleagues and managers across the organisation regarding all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will work with people at all levels of the organisation supporting the People Director on strategy work streams as the organisation continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all day-to-day HR processes within the employee lifecycle to ensure staff are supported appropriately and legislative responsibilities are fulfilled
• Work alongside the People Director to map or review processes across the employee lifecycle, identify blockers and seek to implement solutions that create efficiency and clarity

• Coordinate the delivery of projects, process and policy improvements as defined and prioritised within the People Plan, leading on workstreams as outlined by the People Director
• Support the People Director in sourcing training and learning solutions, and evaluating training
• Provide practical upskilling and training to managers and employees in HR practices and policy
• Coordinate recruitment efforts at Access Social Care, ensuring compliance with employment laws and providing guidance to managers. Manage the recruitment cycle and administration process from job ads to onboarding
• Support staff engagement activities across Access Social Care in conjunction with the People Director. These may include but are not limited to the following initiatives: staff survey coordination, and wellbeing events
• To be a super user and actively promote the use of the HRIS system (Bright HR) and ensure that electronic staffing records are updated and maintained accurately in accordance with GDPR
• Dealing with cyclical and ad-hoc data reporting and requests for information including data analysis
• Contribute to effective payroll administration ensuing information is shared with the Finance Officer in a timely manner, and collaborating with the People Director to address and rectify any issues and process improvements
• Work within the parameters of GDPR, ensuring data and information is protected and handled correctly

• Manage relationships with external agencies including media houses, designers and printers; to negotiate costs and relevant performance reviews

About the role

Play your part in improving leadership in the health sector

This is an exciting time to join our Leadership and Organisational Development team. Our work enjoys an outstanding reputation in the NHS and beyond and you’ll play an important role in supporting this, working across a range of clients and projects.

As a Programme Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for managing the logistics of a range of different courses and programmes. You will work closely with the Programme Directors, who design and deliver the course and programme content.

Your role will include communicating with programme participants and clients, creating programme materials, managing budgets, booking venues, travel and accommodation, and event management.

You will be skilled at working across a suite of programmes and balancing multiple deadlines. You’ll enjoy taking personal responsibility for your own portfolio and also working with the team of Programme Coordinators to support each other’s work and drive continuous improvement.

Our business model includes online working alongside in person therefore you will be expected to provide online technical support and be proficient in Microsoft Teams, Zoom and other online platforms to support the delivery of client work.

To join us, you need to be exceptionally organised and methodical as well as an excellent team player with a collaborative approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, alongside first-rate numeracy skills to be able to monitor programme budgets. We’re looking for someone who is confident with using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and other online packages and databases too. With experience of working in busy environments, you’ll combine these talents with a keen eye for detail, a flexible approach and great client relationship skills.

We are seeking a Direct Marketing Officer to join this team to manage and deliver a series of high standard direct marketing campaigns across our Regular Giving programme. This individual will be recruiting, retaining and upgrading regular donors to generate income through a variety of direct marketing methods such as direct dialogue, DRTV, digital, and direct mail. They will be encouraging regular monthly gifts or support via one of our main products such as general Regular Giving and Sponsorship, our Lottery, Value Exchange programme and other methods of committed giving as they arise.

The Senior Officer – Network, Partnerships and Programmes plays a critical role as the initial contact point for CSC’s global network of 200+ NGOs and delivery lead for our practice-based partnership programmes and Street Work training, working closely with a small but dynamic team in pursuit of CSC’s vision and goals.

The postholder will contribute towards CSC’s strategic goal to transform street-connected children's experience of the street, now, so that they are safer, with better access to services and a sense of belonging in their communities, by:

• Working with network partners to develop, evidence and model innovative & integrated rights-based approaches to supporting street-connected children and securing their rights
• Promoting and supporting skilled street work as the first, critical step in a rights-based approach to supporting street-connected children

Role Summary

• Reporting: To the Director of Programmes for Network, Practice and Children’s Participation
• Working hours: Part time 3.5 days per week (24.5 hours)
• Salary: £34,000 pro rata
• Annual leave: 25 days + 8 Bank Holidays pro rata to a total of 23 days

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Programme delivery

• As the delivery lead for CSC’s practice-related partnership programmes, (including our Inclusive Education Programme), work closely with partners, working group members and other stakeholders to develop and deliver high quality programming which maximises learning and dissemination opportunities, engaging external stakeholders and learning partners where appropriate
• Manage and cultivate relationships with current programme funders, ensuring that high quality reports are submitted to deadlines
• Where required, support the delivery of other programme activities in partnership with network members
• Working with partners and CSC’s finance manager, review and manage programme budgets
• Working with the Senior Legal and Advocacy Officer and with the oversight of the Directors of Programmes, implement processes for collecting and analysing monitoring data on partnership programmes and with the wider team to identify learning to inform CSC’s future work.

2. Programme development

• Working with the Directors of Programmes, guided by CSC’s strategy and building on our existing strong partnerships, develop programme plans and project concepts in advancement of CSC’s goals
• Working with the Directors of Programmes, identify funding sources for partnership programme activities and contribute to the development of high-quality project proposals
• Support the further development and delivery of CSC’s Street Work training offer, working closely with the Director of Programmes for Network, Practice and Children’s Participation, including supporting proactive efforts to secure training contracts/funding and nurturing CSC’s Global Trainer group.

3. Network development

• With the support of the staff team and Directors of Programmes, develop and implement CSC’s network approach to achieve CSC’s strategic goals
• Identify areas for collaboration with and between network members and facilitate shared learning, including via network-wide events, thematic working groups and geographic clusters within the wider network
• Be the first point of contact for reactive enquiries relating to the network and membership
• Be the ‘holder’ of network data, which will be jointly populated and maintained by the team 
• Be a champion for shared learning and knowledge exchange between the network and CSC team, including via network surveys and online engagement events
• Work with the wider staff team and network to design and deliver CSC’s annual International Day for Street Children campaign and activities.

4. Other

• As a member of CSC’s Safeguarding Committee, contribute to the effective implementation of CSC’s Safeguarding Policy and promote a safeguarding culture within the organisation
• Carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job.

Person specification

• Strong programme management skills developed in the international development or human rights sectors
• Experienced at partnership management and supporting partners to develop skills, address capacity gaps, and share learning
• Excellent relationship management skills with partners, donors or similar external-facing relationships
• An understanding of charity finances, budgeting processes and legislation
• Experience in a network facing or membership role preferred
• An understanding and curiosity about the key issues for street connected children and the organisations that support them
