WVS are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person to join their volunteering team. We offer a range of different volunteer opportunities across the world, supporting our volunteers from their initial enquires, through the onboarding process, during their trip, and following up with them, once they have returned home after their travels.

About Us

At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.

We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands.  We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world. Our Mission Rabies project runs mass canine vaccination and community education in the world’s worst hotspots for the disease. Since the project began, over five million dogs have been vaccinated against rabies and over nine million children have been educated in rabies prevention, protecting the lives of people and animals.

Last year, WVS treated over 100,000 animals, trained over 2,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,000 parcels of veterinary supplies to 231 charities in 65 countries.

The School:

Merchant Taylors’ School is a large Independent Boys’ School, situated in 280 acres of parkland in Northwood, Middlesex.  The School was founded in 1561, is owned by the Merchant Taylors’ Educational Trust and moved to its present site in 1933. Main duties and responsibilities:

Fundraising

· Developing and innovating the school’s regular giving programme, the Merchant Taylors’ Fund, to ensure a consistent income stream and increased participation from alumni, parents and friends.

· In conjunction with external consultants, running our (currently) biennial telephone fundraising campaigns and Giving Days.

· Liaising with school departments, clubs and societies to identify exciting projects to motivate supporters.

· Segmenting and targeting recipients for appeals to ensure the greatest impact and returns.

· Devising the strategy for promoting legacy giving as a means of supporting Merchant Taylors’, and to implement this strategy to increase the number of known legacy pledges to the school.

 Stewardship

· Establishing and running a comprehensive benefactor stewardship programme that thanks and stewards donors at all levels, including legacy pledges, through regular communication and events.

Reporting

· Reporting on progress against all objectives to the Development and Alumni Relations Sub-Committee of Governors.

· Where appropriate, working with the Development Executive (Events and Communications), to produce benefactor report publications and contribute to other Development publications.

· Ensuring that all contact with OMTs and parents is recorded on the Development Office’s database, the Raiser’s Edge.

About the Role

As Assistant Adjudicator (AA), you will work as part of the Adjudication Team, who are responsible for the review and resolution of complex and/or entrenched student complaints. 

The Adjudication Team is a collaborative casework environment. Assistant Adjudicators work at pace to see cases through to conclusion by either writing and issuing clear, concise, accurate and well-reasoned decisions (Complaint Outcomes) or by negotiating settlements. 

Your cases will typically be complex with a higher level of risk or the potential to have a greater impact on the student, the provider and/or on the organisation. The information and electronic files you work with will typically involve large amounts of written documentation.

You will be expected to provide excellent customer service and as well as progressing cases in a timely way, you will have a targeted number of cases to review and close each month.

We are now seeking an experienced Waking Night Keyworker to oversee all aspects of our first stage housing during the night, based at our Newham, East London homes from 10pm to 8am. The main role is to support the residents in daily living activities of an evening and morning and be available for support throughout the night. Staff will also be expected to maintain professional development through online training and maintain the monitoring system ensuring it is up to date.

Key Responsibilities

The Waking Night Keyworker will report directly to the Specialist Support Manager and will play a critical role in maintaining the effective running of Treasures Foundation’s supported housing. The core responsibilities include:

Beneficiary support

· Support beneficiaries in the evening, communicating with them about their day or any difficulties that have arisen for them

In this varied role, you will play a vital part in keeping our client’s projects and operations running smoothly. You will help draft budgets, track project spending, update timelines, manage supplier relationships, and support internal workflows and reporting. From supporting international training programmes and consultancy work to ensuring financial systems are up-to-date and compliant, you will be a go-to team member for both project coordination and finance administration.  You will also lend a hand in the day-to-day running of our office, keeping electronic records and collaboration tools organised, supporting policy and contract updates, helping with event logistics, and taking minutes at key meetings. Your contribution will help ensure that the charity’s global programmes are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in administration or project support, ideally in the non-profit or media development sector. You will have experience with financial processes and budget management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and cloud-based collaboration tools is essential, as is a proactive, problem-solving mindset. To thrive in this role, you need to be a confident communicator with strong organisational skills, and you will be comfortable managing competing priorities and collaborating with teams across time zones.

This role is full time, hybrid based with 1dpw in the London office, paying £18.15ph plus holiday pay.

Duties:

Lead on identifying potential corporate funders and securing new relationships and partnerships.

Lead on generating income from a portfolio of high value existing corporate partners to deliver or exceed budgeted income; creating innovative approaches to engage cultivate and steward relationships

Responsible for relationship management and pipeline development of corporate partners, delivering agreed objectives and expectations.

Responsible and accountable for managing income and expenditure on the post holder’s portfolio of corporate partnerships

Undertake research to produce detailed, qualified profiles for all existing and prospective corporate donors, ensuring that all relevant data is captured on Raiser’s Edge appropriately.

Work with the Prospect Research team to ensure a steady flow of prospects into the Corporate Partnerships team pipeline to generate, develop and close new business leads to agreed performance targets

To support the Corporate Partnerships Manager on monthly reports and account projections by monitoring progress against budget throughout the year, liaising with Supporter Services and using Raiser’s Edge and PowerBi.

Essential Experience:

Proven ability to maintain and build a portfolio of donors and meet income targets

Proven experience of reaching sales and/or income targets

Proven and demonstrable experience at acquiring new business, whether from fundraising, sales or marketing experience

Excellent demonstrable relationship management skills – able to develop relationships with company representatives at all levels

The ability to develop high quality, coherent and thorough fundraising proposals, presentations and the ability to think creatively

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of media and audiences

Excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence/persuade a wide range of stakeholders, with the ability to undertake often complex internal and external negotiation with companies, corporate partners and colleagues

It is our vision that adults with learning disabilities are valued as leaders and peers and are supported to achieve their goals and live life to the full. The role of the Trust Fundraiser is essential in building our capacity to ensure the delivery of our vision.

The Trust Fundraiser will work with the CEO in developing a high quality fundraising strategy and raising funds against agreed targets that support the work of Orchard Vale Trust. They will use this to manage projects - from application of funding to delivery, including on-going evaluation and reporting.

They will work with the senior management team to ensure service users are supported in accordance with the ethos, policies and practices of Orchard Vale Trust and with current best practice as set out by Care Quality Commissions (CQC) regulations, the Charity Commission and other relevant legislation and guidance.

1. To develop and implement a fundraising strategy for the Trust
