JOB PURPOSE
This new role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of fundraising within a dynamic, purpose-driven organisation.
You will play a key role in helping to futureproof and sustainably grow Magic Breakfast’s income from trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). This is a varied and rewarding role, with the opportunity for creativity with your own pool of funders.
You will be part of the Major Giving team, which secures income from trusts, foundations, and HNWIs. While your primary focus will be on trusts and foundations fundraising, you will also support the team’s work with HNWIs, adapting to the team’s needs as required.
With support from a friendly and experienced team, you will take ownership of a portfolio of trusts and foundations, managing relationships and securing donations typically ranging from £500 to £10,000. In supporting the team’s work with HNWIs, you will help to deliver outstanding donor care, nurture long-term relationships, and contribute to securing transformational gifts. Strong writing, communication, and research skills will be key to your success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

About Adolescent Health Study
The Adolescent Health Study (AHS) is an ambitious new UKRI-funded initiative to establish a prospective, longitudinal population study that will generate a globally leading open science data platform and research resource. AHS aims to recruit at least 100,000 young people from across the UK and to follow their mental and physical health and wellbeing over at least 10 years. It plans to collect data through questions and measures; to obtain bio-samples for a wide range of genomic and other high-throughput assays; and to capture linked data relevant to health and wellbeing from participants’ health, education and other administrative records. There will be a strong emphasis on engaging with and involving young people, schools, parents and other relevant stakeholders in the design and delivery of the study, as well as on including young people that represent as wide as possible a range of backgrounds, experiences and characteristics. AHS will focus on enabling a wide range of research, including studies of the critical biological and social developments that occur during the transition from childhood to adulthood and the determinants of both mental and physical health and wellbeing in adolescents and young adults.
Purpose of the post
The Research Officer will play a key role in supporting the scientific foundation, development, and coordination of AHS. The post holder will focus initially on supporting the development of the AHS pilot, contributing as required to methods selection, co-development of materials and assessment processes, writing of protocols and ethics submissions and preliminary testing of processes. Activities will involve conducting comprehensive literature reviews, supporting the development of piloting tools and protocols, engagement with schools, adolescents and parents, and addressing operational and logistical considerations necessary for successful delivery. The position is essential to ensuring the pilot and future study are grounded in robust evidence and implemented effectively.
Main responsibilities
Research & Evaluation

Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential criteria
- A Masters degree in epidemiology, public health, social sciences, or a related discipline
- Demonstrable experience in supporting research studies, preferably in population and/or adolescent health.
- Ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights
- Ability to synthesise literature and evidence concisely for reporting to diverse audiences
- Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to contribute to protocols and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to form strong working relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders at all levels, both in person and virtually.
Desirable criteria
- A PhD in epidemiology, public health, social sciences, or a related discipline (completed or due to be submitted within 3 months of application)
- Prior experience of working on adolescent health, youth development, or related public health issues

- Good knowledge of basic principles of ethical research

Axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) is a painful, lifelong inflammatory condition affecting around 1 in people. Despite this, awareness remains low and diagnosis is often delayed.
ASIF brings together 60 patient organisations across 48 countries to raise awareness, strengthen patient voices and improve understanding of axSpA globally. We are a small, fully remote team who care deeply about the work we do and about working supportively and collaboratively with one another.
We are now looking for an organised, proactive and thoughtful Project Co-ordinator/ Operations Assistant to help us deliver a major international online research study, while also supporting our wider activities.
This is an opportunity to be part of something meaningful - research that will help shape advocacy, awareness and understanding for people living with inflammatory arthritis around the world.
The Role
Your time will be split approximately:
- 70–80% supporting an ambitious international research project·
- 20–30% supporting ASIF’s wider operations

Role
The Programme Officer will manage day-to-day relationships with Degrees’ research groups based in the Latin America and Caribbean region, ensure smooth grant administration, and support regional events.
Key Responsibilites
Grantees
- Being the first point of contact for our grantees and stakeholders, including volunteer research collaborators.
- Supporting research teams to gain access to, for example, modelling data.
Grant management

Qualifications
We are seeking a dynamic self-starter based in the UK, with experience in planning and running international events as well as academic workshops. Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting C-level executives, ideally within international nonprofit, policy, or mission-driven environments.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in other global languages is highly desirable.
- High digital fluency with productivity tools such as Microsoft 365 and collaboration platforms.

Working Model

About the role:
As our Head of Campaigns and Marketing, you’ll lead on the continued development of our brand and the planning, design, and execution of impactful campaigns that inspire action. About you:
We are looking for a talented Marketing leader with a proven track record of developing and delivering integrated brand, marketing and communications strategies across multiple channels, ideally within the charity sector. You will have demonstrable experience leading high-impact campaigns spanning PR, media, corporate partnerships and influencer engagement to drive income growth, alongside the ability to engage, collaborate and influence senior stakeholders. You will also bring operational and strong expertise in developing core messaging and brand assets, analysing and optimising campaign performance, and applying best practice in income-generating marketing. A strong understanding of digital channels, including social media, SEO and paid advertising, is essential. The role requires an inspiring leader with experience managing budgets and multidisciplinary teams, including digital marketing and PR professionals and agencies. Science shows what we all know, that the bond between a child and their family is vital for their development. Decades of evidence proves that orphanages harm children, subjecting them to high levels of abuse, as well as extreme neglect. Children always belong in families. They need protection, encouragement, play, laughter and love. They need somewhere to call home and someone to love them. You can help us make this a reality for children.
Salary: £60,000 to £65,000 per annum, including any London weighting if applicable.
Location: Remote working with monthly travel to the London or Salisbury office for meetings, or office based with flexible and home-working options for part of the week.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

AHF is seeking an England Development Manager (Heritage Revival Fund) to co‑lead our core grants and advisory programme across England. This role has been created following the recent announcement of significant new investment, which will support the expansion of the Heritage Revival Fund through to 2030. This investment will enable AHF, in partnership with DCMS and Historic England, to provide grants to hundreds of communities across England, helping them bring neglected historic buildings back into use.
Ideally based in southern or central England with focus on southern half of the country. The postholder will work jointly with the current England Development Manager (HRF), who will focus on the northern half of England. Together, they will oversee activity and workflow across the whole country. The role also includes joint management of the England grants team (who work remotely) and programme budget, working flexibly and collaboratively to ensure the successful delivery of AHF’s core programme.
We are looking for a candidate with strong experience across the key responsibilities of the role, including team management, programme budget oversight, and reporting. Ideally, they will bring a proven track record of leadership within the heritage or charitable sector.
