The Role
Having launched our Youth Adventure Programmes in Somerset in 2024, we are now looking for somebody who wants to take the next step in their fundraising career to build on the foundations of the last two years and significantly increase our presence in the county.
As our Regional Corporate Fundraiser, you'll be the driving force behind our local business partnerships, working with both large companies operating in the region and smaller local businesses looking to support their communities.
Your role will encompass:

Relationship building: Identifying and securing new corporate partnerships while providing high-quality stewardship to our existing Somerset-based supporters.

Community Engagement: Championing our work in Somerset by giving engaging talks to community groups and networking with local businesses.

Event delivery: Playing a key role in delivering local fundraising challenge events, the bi-annual Somerset Adventure Dinner and developing new opportunities to unite the Somerset business community behind our mission.
You'll work closely with the Corporate Partnership Manager and the Director of Fundraising and Communications to ensure each proposal is bespoke and every corporate partner understands the impact of their support on local young people. You must live in Somerset, have a good local awareness and be willing to travel around the county and beyond to nurture long-lasting, strategic relationships.

The Charity
At the Youth Adventure Trust, we use outdoor adventure to empower vulnerable young people from Swindon, Wiltshire and Somerset to fulfil their potential and lead positive lives in the future. We work with them to build resilience, develop confidence and learn skills that will last a lifetime, helping them to face the challenges in their lives. Dedicated support, guidance and mentoring from our staff and volunteers ensures young people receive the maximum benefit from our long-term intervention. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people. All our services are provided completely free of charge to the young people who are nominated by schools and other youth organisations to take part.
We’re proud to offer our programmes completely free of charge to participants which means the fundraising team is crucial. We're Level Water, a founder-led charity solving learn-to-swim for disabled children. We're not your typical charity. We own our events and run them like a business. About the Role
We are looking to recruit a permanent Finance Manager to join our busy finance team, working 30-37 hours per week, minimum 30 hours, ideally over a minimum of 4 days, starting salary £31,634 per annum (pro rata).
As Finance Manager, you will:-
· Provide day-to-day operational leadership of the finance team, including supervision, workload coordination, ongoing staff development and continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
· Act as the main link between the Finance Director and the Finance Team, translating strategic direction into clear, effective delivery.
· Lead month-end processes including the preparation of accurate management accounts, maintaining strong balance sheet control and exercising sound judgement on complex financial issues.
· Oversee income, credit control, cashflow, short-term forecasting and the administration of the finance system, ensuring data integrity, high-quality management information and appropriate escalation of risks or pressures.
· Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as required.
· Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support financial understanding, compliance and the effective resolution of issues.
· Act as the first point of escalation for operational finance issues, escalating to the Finance Director as appropriate.
About You
We need you to bring:
·AAT Level 4 Qualification or significant equivalent finance experience, with responsibility for management accounts, reconciliations and income monitoring.
· Experience coordinating month-end processes and working across multiple income streams, contracts or funding arrangements.
· Strong analytical skills and sound professional judgement, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and identify financial and organisational risk and escalate issues appropriately.
· Experience supervising or supporting others within a finance setting, with a collaborative leadership style and a commitment to continuous improvement.
· Confidence using financial systems and Microsoft Excel at an intermediate to advanced level, alongside a methodical, organised approach to prioritising work.
· A clear commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and to the values of The Advocacy People.
The following attributes are also desirable:-
· Experience working in the voluntary or charitable sector, including knowledge of SORP accounting, year-end accounts and liaison with auditors.
· Experience working with local authority contracts or complex funding environments.
· Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
As this role is home based with occasional travel you will need to have access to use of public transport or own car. Flexibility with working hours, a good mobile signal and broadband service are essential.

Key tasks & responsibilities
Income generation
· Use your skills, creativity and experience to develop our income generation strategy
· Develop ideas for creative sponsorship and funding opportunities, putting together and submitting proposal and tender documents; identifying suitable partners; presenting proposals and closing deals
· Converting pilot and seed-funded contracts to longer-term sustainable contracts e.g. current Postcode Lottery agreement in the North-East converting to a long-term contract with North-East and North Cumbria ICB (more information to this can be given at interview stage)
· Support drawing up and negotiating contracts and ensuring delivery
· Work with stakeholders and our internal team to scope and develop exciting new opportunities
· Develop and steward fundraising and donor relationships in order to increase income
· Deliver on agreed income targets
Partnerships and Networks
· Build and maintain a network of strategic key external contacts that can support Advantage Mentoring’s work. Stakeholders will be from private, public and third sector groups. Take an active role in representing Advantage Mentoring to appropriate Trusts and Foundations
· Develop a work plan for private sector and philanthropic engagement to achieve a joined up and coherent approach to engaging with commercial organisations across multiple outcomes (financial, brand awareness, influencing policy and support-in-kind)
Communication, marketing and external relations
· Work with Communications colleagues to create materials that will attract new strategic partners, for example highly targeted work aimed at specific sectors being clear about the value of partnering with Advantage Mentoring
· Represent Advantage Mentoring with external audiences (in the media, at events, in meetings with senior stakeholders)
Strategic Leadership
· Develop and implement Advantage’s income generation strategy and policies, as a part of the Leadership Team

Charter & Membership Growth. You will design and execute strategies to significantly grow the number of companies who are signatories to the Workforce Digital Skills Charter and / or FutureDotNow members, alongside strategies that retain and engage the existing community.

Membership management. You’ll own and manage the membership pipeline end-to-end, from inbound interest through to conversion, onboarding and retention. You will drive self-service into our processes so it’s easy for organisations to see the value and sign up as members and charter signatories, minimising the need for calls and meetings. Members Area. You will lead the strategy and delivery of our Members’ Area on the FutureDotNow website, defining the information architecture and content governance. You’ll use WordPress to add new content and keep existing content up-to-date and relevant. About you:

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Digital Marketing Manager to attract new UK supporters and generate income for Mary’s Meals’ school meals programme through effective and inspiring marketing across digital channels.
This role primarily raises income (but also awareness) through performance marketing activity with a clear focus on maximising ROI and delivering supporter growth at scale. The focus is on managing digital channels including Google & Bing Paid Search and Shopping, Google Grant, Meta, Display, YouTube, SEO and identifying emerging channels. Ensuring digital marketing complements other marketing activities as part of an integrated team approach is key.

The Digital Marketing Manager works side-by-side with colleagues from across the Supporter Experience and Communications directorate, ensuring a joined-up approach to all communications activities, through the integration of strong storytelling, marketing expertise and supporter engagement.

Build performance-driven channel plans across Paid Search, Shopping, Meta, Display, Video, and SEO, aligned to acquisition and revenue targets.

Set up, manage, and continuously optimise Paid Search and Shopping campaigns on Google Ads, Google Grant, and Bing Ads with a focus on return on ad spend (ROAS) and cost per acquisition (CPA).

Deliver Display and YouTube campaigns via Google Ads, managing targeting, placements, and creative testing.

Monitor and optimise campaign structures, keyword performance, bidding strategies, and audience targeting to maximise revenue.

Lead the delivery of technical and content SEO initiatives to improve rankings and organic traffic.

Work with the Creative Communications team on agreed content and copywriting requirements for acquisition marketing activities.

Track and report on key income metrics using GA4, GTM, and UTM tagging, with a focus on ROI, revenue per click, and conversion rates.

Set and report on KPI’s such as CPA, ROAS, CTR, conversion rate, and impression share.

Analyse data to identify trends, optimise campaigns, and deliver insights to inform wider marketing activity.

Test and refine messaging, ad formats, and landing pages through A/B and multivariate testing.

Contribute to oversight and performance of organic social media channels alongside the Supporter Marketing Manager, Supporter Experience Manager and Creative Communications Manager.

Work with designers and content creators to brief, review, and optimise assets (copy, creative, landing pages).

Collaborate with the Marketing, and wider Mary’s Meals teams to ensure campaigns support broader objectives.

Champion best practices in performance marketing across the organisation.

Help shape the future of income generation at Alopecia UK. This newly created role offers a rare opportunity to build and lead fundraising at a small but ambitious national charity.
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Fundraising Manager to lead our next phase of income growth. As our first dedicated fundraising leadership role, you will develop and deliver a multi-year income strategy, strengthen existing income streams, and identify new opportunities to diversify and grow our fundraising.
Working closely with the CEO and colleagues across the organisation, you will play a central role in helping Alopecia UK reach more people affected by alopecia and ensure the charity’s long-term sustainability. This role offers the chance to combine strategy with delivery, innovation with implementation, and to see the direct impact of your work.

- Salary: £45,000 per annum, pro rata.
- Hours: Part-time (22.5 hours per week, flexible, during normal UK working hours we would consider a contract with fewer hours for the right candidate. All of our team work Monday mornings to ensure connectivity.)

Strategic leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of a multi-year income generation strategy aligned to Alopecia UK priorities.
- Work across the organisation to ensure fundraising activity is fully integrated with operational delivery, partnering closely with the finance, communications and delivery managers to align plans, resources and messaging, and to ensure shared initiatives are realistic, coordinated and achievable.
- Translate insight from your experience and our recent fundraising strategy review into clear, achievable plans.
- Set and monitor ambitious yet realistic income targets across income streams.
- Responsibility for achieving the fundraising targets and other fundraising-related performance indicators.
- Embed a positive fundraising culture across the organisation.
- Manage and review all fundraising income and expenditure budgets.
Income growth & diversification
As a part-time role within a small charity, the postholder will need to carefully prioritise income-generating opportunities alongside stewardship and relationship management. In year one, a key focus will be establishing effective donor pathways through the rollout of our new CRM, ensuring supporters experience clear and meaningful journeys with the charity. Alongside this, the Senior Fundraising Manager will assess and determine which early opportunities for growth should be prioritised. While areas such as community fundraising, digital campaigns and regular giving are likely to offer early potential, the postholder will lead decisions on where to focus effort and investment to generate the strongest returns.
- Leverage and optimise existing community and public fundraising activity to increase income and supporter numbers.
- Develop and grow new revenue streams, to potentially include digital fundraising campaigns, regular giving, trusts and grants, and legacy giving.
- Lead creatively and intellectually on compelling campaigning initiatives that drive engagement and income.
- Provide excellent stewardship to ensure funders and partners feel valued, engaged and motivated to continue their support.
- Widen our existing corporate partnerships programme by building mutually beneficial partnerships to deliver income, awareness, and engagement opportunities.
CRM
- Support the design and rollout of our first CRM system, working closely with the Finance & Operations Manager to design fit-for-purpose donor journeys and pathways, establish meaningful reporting frameworks and ensure data supports excellent stewardship and strategic decision-making.
- Use CRM data and financial information to track performance, analyse trends and adjust strategy as required.
Data & impact
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including ICO guidance, GDPR and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
- Work closely with the Finance & Operations Manager to ensure our data meaningfully represents organisational outcomes.
- Translate impact data into powerful, succinct and persuasive communications or compelling cases for support.
