The Role

What will I be doing?

As the Community Support Officer (Engagement and Volunteering), you’ll be at the heart of our work to build a vibrant, inclusive physics community. You’ll be the first point of contact for our volunteer-led Groups, Nations, and Branches — helping them to thrive, connect, and deliver meaningful activities that bring physics to life.

Your role will be varied, people-focused, and purpose-driven. You’ll:

• Support and empower volunteer committees with planning, elections, onboarding, and governance
• Design and deliver engaging training and resources to help volunteers feel confident and connected
• Celebrate and recognise contributions through awards, spotlight stories, and appreciation campaigns
• Coordinate inclusive events and forums that foster collaboration and community
• Use data and feedback to evaluate impact, improve experiences, and inform decision-making

You’ll work closely with passionate physicists, volunteers, and colleagues across departments — from Communications and EDI to Learning and Skills — to ensure every member feels supported, valued, and inspired.

• Creating a new Volunteering Guide and Welcome Handbook
• Designing and delivering onboarding and training for new committee members
• Organising flagship events like the annual Committee Welcome Day
• Helping shape our first Volunteering Development Plan and inclusive volunteering strategy

You’ll also be part of a wider team of Community Support Officers, each with their own focus area, working together to build a connected, thriving membership community.

In September 2024, National Numeracy launched a new ‘Schools & Families’ programme to support Primary School staff, parents and carers in increasing pupils’ confidence with numbers, positive feelings about maths, and awareness of the value of maths outside of the classroom. The programme also works to improve parents’, carers’, and school staff’s own confidence with numbers and with supporting children with their maths.

The programme has been hugely successful and is growing rapidly – we have now secured funding to deliver activity in all four nations of the UK and we are working with almost 300 schools currently.

The Schools & Families Programme Officer will support the Schools & Families Programme Manager in managing fast-paced activity across the UK, particularly delivering online training directly to school staff, recruiting schools, and visiting selected schools to ensure the success of the programme.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and motivated individual to join us in this newly created HR and Governance role at Dialogue Earth. We are seeking an organised and proactive person to provide day-to-day support across both functions, with around 70% of the role focused on HR. The HR and governance officer will lead and manage the organisation’s human resources, governance, and compliance functions. Main Responsibilities

Human Resources:

● Coordinate recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions and contracts, applicant screening, supporting interviews and collecting references;
● Manage staff onboarding processes and induction material;
● Maintain and update HR policies, the staff handbook, and training records in consultation with the COO;
● Manage the HR system (Natural HR or equivalent) and ensure records are accurate and up to date;

Plumstead Community Law Centre is a free specialist legal advice charity located in central Woolwich in South East London. We provide specialist legal advice and advocacy in the areas of immigration, welfare benefits and employment People can access our services via telephone or email, and through the Advice Hub outreach services we attend in local community centres. Location: Remote (based in England & Wales with occasional travel required for biannual team days in London, termly Support Coach Team meetings in various locations, and twice termly vists to facilitators in various locations). Salary: £28,665 - £30,765 pro rata (£22,932 - £24,612 actual)

About the role

The Support Coach role involves:

• Supporting volunteer facilitators by coaching them through the opportunities, challenges and obstacles of running a Kids Matter programme
• Training and upskilling facilitators by helping run events and develop new resources
• Working with the wider Kids Matter team to encourage and strengthen Kids Matter’s church partnerships

At Kids Matter, we are committed to delivering effective coaching. All Support Coaches are given the opportunity to go through the coaching accreditation process with ICF to become an Associate Certified Coach (ACC). Kids Matter provides the support and supervision for this to take place, and will cover the cost of the accreditation if the individual remains employed as a Support Coach for the two years following applying for accreditation. If the individual leaves before two years, a percentage of the accreditation cost will be required to pay back.

As an integral part of the London Irish Centre's Community services, the Advice Service collaborates with our Support Service, Legal Advocate (benefit appeals), Community Programmes (responsible for events and activities), and our specialized Survivor Integrated Service. Together, we strive to deliver community-led and best-practice support.

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and knowledgeable Advice Worker to join our committed team. The successful candidate will bring expertise in welfare rights and housing, and a strong commitment to supporting those facing financial hardship or insecure living conditions. In this role, you will work directly with clients to deliver accredited advice and practical guidance, helping them navigate complex systems and secure the support they need. You will also collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to ensure a holistic and integrated service that puts community needs first.

• You have solid experience advising on welfare benefits and housing law, including issues like homelessness, entitlement, and disability benefits.

The Talent Set are delighted to be working with a fantastic humanitarian charity to find their Legacy Officer.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working and an expectation to work from their London office 2 days per week.

The Legacy Officer will work alongside the Legacy Marketing Manager to help deliver the UK’s Legacy Fundraising strategy and support the efficient administration of one of the charity’s largest income streams. This role plays a fundamental part of the Legacy Stewardship and Retention programme for those who have already committed to leaving a gift in their will.

Key Responsibilities:

· Preparing weekly banking for incoming donations by cheque and facilitating donations via bank transfer.

· Responsible for handling all Legacy post, ensuring all correspondence is logged onto the database (Dynamics) and paperwork is filed and archived according to their policy.

· Answering phone calls and monitoring the team’s Legacies email inbox, ensuring that all inbound enquiries are dealt with professionally, and according to processes and Service Level Agreements.

· Record and keep up to date, all relevant information regarding inbound Legacy enquiries.

· Responsible for collating paperwork and updating the spreadsheet schedule for the annual tax reclaim (R185s) on legacy gifts, in accordance with HMRC requirements.

· Updating database (Dynamics) records with Legacy notification service emails (Smee & Ford).

· Drafting and recording correspondence (email and post) to solicitors, executors, and next-of-kin, as required/instructed.

· Responsible for closing Legacy records on database (Dynamics) to include checking all relevant data has been captured and scanning/filing/archiving all paperwork.

· Collating the analysis reporting on Legacy enquiries and Legacies left to the organisation, using in-house reporting dashboards.

· Providing assistance on various Legacy Marketing initiatives, such as radio and press adverts, as well as inserts, and working with the Public Engagement Team on events for Legacy Supporters

Person Specification:

· Significant experience working in office environment with strong administration skills and time management skills with an ability to manage a varied and busy workload effectively.

· Ability to maintain accuracy, combined with meticulous attention to detail.

· Excellent communication skills to build and manage key relationships and choose appropriate communication channels.

· Self-starter who has the confidence to provide support across multiple areas, within a fast-paced team, exercising good judgement and using own initiative.
