We are seeking an organised, proactive and diligent Membership and Engagement Coordinator to lead on the administrative support for our members and the wider Engagement team. The post holder will be responsible for providing a seamless experience for members wanting to join the ESU or for those renewing their membership. The Membership and Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for developing relationships with members and branch chairs, finding ways to involve members in the work of the ESU and maintaining oversight of the organisation’s CRM. The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.
Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.
You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic and determined, but you also need to be invested in our mission as a charity and care about people.
This role is about;
• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);
• being responsible for networking, identifying, and establishing partnerships with key individuals and organisations and nurturing existing relationships;
• developing and rolling out strategies to engage with hard-to-reach and isolated military carers and families;

We are looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer with at least two years of relevant experience, who will be able to contribute to our new VCS Capacity Building contract.
Having a good level of experience in producing and designing communications content, excellent copy writing skills with the ability to create clear and compelling content, excellent attention to detail and a strong track record in developing communications which stand out and increase both engagement and awareness.
Someone who enjoys working with the local community and able to use their communication and engagement skills to ensure we are reaching all parts of the VCS community within the Borough of Haringey. Having knowledge of the VCS within Haringey would be an advantage, but not essential.

MIND in Haringey and its partner Public Voice delivers the Voluntary and Community (VCS) Capacity Building contract commissioned by the London Borough of Haringey. The logistics and communications officer role is to support the whole staff team, volunteers and the stakeholders of Let’s Grow Preston. We are looking for a flexible, competent and creative person to join our dynamic team. The role is predominantly administrative, but there will be days when the role will require you to collect food for distribution, load and unload the van with trolleys and plants for an event, or just to drop off at another community hub.
A full clean driving licence is essential to enable the post holder to drive the charity’s van.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As Membership Engagement Coordinator you will
- Lead and deliver on communications plans for renewals, ensuring renewal emails, letters and calls are made to ensure high levels of member retention - monitoring retention rates and cancellation reasons.
- Work with the Membership Manager and Digital Communications Manager on social media campaigns to reach new members.
- Raise awareness of all member benefits to help with member engagement.
- Manage membership networks, and work closely with the events team to build networks at the organisation events.
- Monitor and evaluate membership statistics, assess their effectiveness and suggest improvements if necessary.
- Help deliver a member recruitment strategy with the Membership Manager.

About the role
£18,975 for 22 hours, FTE salary is £31,051
In this varied and rewarding role you will develop and coordinate our team of volunteers and Sessional Workers (zero hours youth workers). You will be instrumental in defining our volunteer strategy moving forward and identify other participation opportunities such as work experience placements, university placements, internships and apprenticeships.
You will also help develop internal engagement activities and participate in external awareness raising and fundraising activities, to support both volunteering and fundraising.
This role is for 22 hours per week, which will ideally be worked over 4 days. There is the option of hybrid working. We provide a surrey wide service, so the successful applicant will be willing to travel across the county to meet volunteers and sessionals as well as participate in engagement opportunities.
Key responsibilities
Full duties are included in the job outline, key responsibilities include:
- To coordinate the recruitment and induction process for volunteers and sessional workers.
- To coordinate, develop and deliver appropriate induction, training and supervision activities.
- To act as a central point of contact for volunteers and sessional workers
- To embed good practice in every aspect of the volunteer & sessional worker journey.
- To develop and manage partnerships with external stakeholders including Universities/volunteering hubs, local businesses and community groups to encourage a range of opportunities.
- To organise and attend community events and organise recruitment workshops and talks, across the county.
- To support the HR Manager by organising engagement activities and forums for our own staff, sessionals, volunteers and other stakeholders.
- To undertake ad hoc work for our fundraising function, to support our community fundraising efforts.
- To coordinate sessional work opportunities.
About you
You must:
- Have proven experience of recruiting and managing volunteers
- Have experience delivering information or training
- Have experience with having difficult conversations with volunteers or workers
- Have experience of working across different teams, networking and developing links with other agencies
- Be an effective communicator, with strong written communication skills
- Be able to multi-task, plan a workload, set priorities and manage time effectively, working without direct supervision
- Have a good professional knowledge of standard Microsoft packages and databases
- Ideally, have a driving license and use of own vehicle. Mileage expenses are paid.

Our Corporate Support Coordinator plays a key role in developing and implementing a compelling package for businesses and organisations to support FareShare GM, which includes running corporate days (team building and volunteering in the FSGM operation) as well as other ways for organisations to engage with us such as sponsorship, fundraising activities, events and so on.
You'll take a proactive lead in coordinating the activities of corporate partners, in conjunction with the FSGM Operations team, staff and volunteers, to ensure successful outcomes for all.
