This is a new role within the Bereavement Support Service proactively engaging bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support digital enquiries, working in a team to deliver and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.
The aim of this post is to provide consistent, high-quality emotional support via digital channels to bereaved families who seek support from the Lullaby Trust.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Proactively engage bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support digital enquiries, working in a team to deliver and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.
· Assist with the setting up of new digital channels to be used by the Lullaby Trust to answer and respond to bereaved families.
· To be the primary contact for the bereavement support digital services including WhatsApp, text, webchat and other social media channels.
· Proactively engage with bereaved families through social media and other online platforms.
· Ensure any safeguarding concerns are actioned in accordance with the organisations Safeguarding policy.
· Send materials to bereaved contacts, including bereavement packs and follow up emails and ensure all documents and databases are updated with each contact in line with the department guidelines, including Raiser’s Edge, Excel databases.
· Cover and answer the bereavement support helpline and online enquiries responding within the set guidelines and KPIs for the department.
· Ensure any messages on Bereavement Support Facebook Groups are monitored and advice is given via befrienders where appropriate.
· Attend face to face events for bereaved families including family days and memorial events when needed.
· Work with Income and Engagement Team around social media bereavement support content/posts.
2. Deliver and run live bereavement themed sessions on social media
· Run monthly live sessions on social media on bereavement topics/themes, responding to comments and messages during and after the sessions, ensuring anyone seeking ongoing support is responded to and referred to relevant services .
· Work with the Engagement Team to promote live session.
· Facilitate monthly remembrance sessions.
3. Ensure the bereavement support services are promoted to those bereaved and to professionals working with bereaved families
· Assist with the recruitment and facilitation of Bereaved Families’ Panel.
· Keep up to date with the bereavement support world including joining National Bereavement Alliance, Child Bereavement Network and research around grief and bereavement.
· Attend events as required to represent the Lullaby Trust’s bereavement support services.
4. Maintain accurate records throughout all services, complying with the organisation’s recording and reporting requirements
Maintain ongoing knowledge and training on the Lullaby Trust’s advice and the scientific knowledge behind this advice.
Collate statistics, as required on areas of work within the support services team.
Assist with the services’ evaluation and impact processes.
Provide other administrative support to the team as required.

Job Description: Training and Events Officer
The Training and Events Officer will play a key role developing and delivering high quality professional development, training, events, workshops to SLA members and wider audiences. The postholder will develop inspirational, insightful and innovative routes to supporting SLA members to deliver on their school library provision remit, enabling children and young people to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education and training.
You will work with the CEO, SLA colleagues and key stakeholders to develop and deliver a comprehensive training offer, including leading on logistics planning and delivery of our flagship annual conference. In addition, you will develop and maintain a calendar of exciting events and opportunities to share knowledge and insight, working with colleagues to ensure the offer is timely and informative. A confident facilitator and coordinator, you will be comfortable leading on training delivery, or recruiting and working with external facilitators in order to achieve specific outcomes. Creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, you will have a keen eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines. Resource creation will be second-nature to you and you’ll be comfortable writing for adults and children, and young people.
Duties include:
- Logistics planning and delivery of the flagship event, SLA Annual Conference (currently called the Weekend Course) providing high quality professional development and networking opportunities to members
- With CEO and key stakeholders, supporting the development of a comprehensive, engaging and exciting conference programme and recruit 40 exhibitors, plus event speakers as needed
- Supporting development of the training strategy working with the CEO to define aims and objectives
- Developing and maintaining a calendar of training, workshops and events aligned with the training strategy, working with the CEO and SLA colleagues, in particular the Outreach Support Officer
- Creation of supporting resources, toolkits and lesson plans to increase training engagement and impact
- Delivering and facilitating inspirational and engaging training and events as required (online and in person)
- Developing relationships with partners to produce high quality webinars, training and online events – including SLA members, funders, external stakeholders
- Exploring and evaluating business and funded models for training and events to ensure an income stream
- Working with external facilitators, recruiting them as needed, to deliver training and workshops, ensuring delivery is aligned with SLA requirements and outcomes
- Managing all training and events administration, planning and logistics
- Working with the Marketing and Communications Officer and Sales and Membership Officer, to ensure effective communication and promotion of training and events, providing timely information and updates as needed
- Monitoring and evaluation of all training and events to ensure a high-quality offer, reach and impact that delivers on the SLA’s mission, applying learnings as needed

To be successful in this role you should ideally demonstrate:
· experience of working in school libraries, the education sector and a strong understanding of the education landscape

An understanding of business models in relation to training will be an advantage, as will experience planning events. Building relationships with all stakeholders will be an important part of this role.
The salary for this position is £21,945.95 (FTE £29,000) for 28 hours per week, and comes with a 6% employer pension contribution.

Summary of the role
The Industry Decarbonisation Lead will shape SteelWatch’s position on steel decarbonisation to inform our change-making strategies, provide overall management and cohesion across our work on data analysis and industry insight, and act as a spokesperson in conversation with industry stakeholders.

We currently focus on OECD countries, and specifically across Europe and Japan, with team members in Europe/Africa and Asia-Pacific timezones.
Role and Responsibilities
The Industry Decarbonisation Lead is a new role, which will work in close collaboration with colleagues across the organisation and is fundamental to the long-term strategy of SteelWatch to transform the iron and steel industry. The core purpose of the role is to cultivate our collective ability to harness credible evidence for our campaigns, and to engage effectively with industry with an ambitious well-informed vision for decarbonisation.
For the initial year(s), there are three main areas of responsibility.
- The Lead will be responsible for navigating and shaping SteelWatch’s positions and point of view on relevant issues regarding steel decarbonisation with a goal of driving long term transition to near-zero emissions steelmaking.
- The Lead will be responsible for managing and shaping our range of work on data, evidence, insights and analysis -with the team members involved - to ensure the quality and relevance of our evidence base and our industry intelligence.
- The Lead will be one of the key spokespeople for the organisation, particularly in industry dialogue and events. The role will report to the Executive Director and is likely to line-manage 1-3 people.
Success for this role will depend on close collaboration with others in SteelWatch including the:
- Steel Analyst, and other team members and consultants working on data and analysis;
- Campaigns Teams, ensuring campaigns are well evidenced, informed and targeted on the critical issues.
- Communications Team, ensuring everything that we externally communicate is consistent and credible, as accuracy is key in our role to speak truth to power.
- Executive Director, sharing the work of representation of SteelWatch externally and updating our arguments as the steel industry evolves.
Responsibilities
1. Shape, evolve and articulate SteelWatch’s positions and point of view on steel decarbonisation:
SteelWatch already has a strong point of view (POV) on many of the core elements of the iron and steel transition. However, the POV needs to be continually reviewed in the light of new developments, on occasion adapted, and extended to new emerging issues. Sharpening the POV is a collaborative process - the Industry Decarbonisation Lead will be responsible for steering and landing this process. The Lead will:
- Ensure the POV is constantly evolved,improved and adapted through collaboration, guiding the process and landing the outcome;
- Ensure the POV is clearly articulated and socialised internally and externally with allies.
2. Manage and shape our range of work on data, industry trends, and analysis.
SteelWatch currently has in-depth data and news tracking on two companies, the targets of our corporate campaigns. We track iron and steel industry news and analyse industry announcements. We are developing our capacity to react to steel news globally, track blast furnaces investments and other announcements, and rate and rank companies. The Industry Decarbonisation Lead will, in collaboration with the Steel Analyst:
- Shape and prioritise our work on gathering data, tracking industry news, and analysing industry strategies, to support and inform the priorities of the organisation, and ensure we make best use of the information in our campaigns.
- Build capacity within SteelWatch to do this consistently across our growing portfolio of work.
- Ensure the quality and relevance of our evidence base, and the processes we have for updating and using it.
- Continue to build our capacity to assess industry announcements and to use that analysis effectively for pressure.
- Scope, support, and lead projects that are data analysis projects, and hold responsibility for the data analysis component of other projects/campaigns. These are likely to include, corporate scorecard, blast furnace trackers, and data visualisation.
3. Ensure relevance, consistency and accuracy in our external communications.
Our external communications are based on credible evidence and SteelWatch’s POV combined with core narrative (responsibility of the Comms team), and campaign arguments and tactics (responsibility of the Campaigns Team). Working closely with the Steel Analyst who currently is the ‘source of truth’ and fact-checker, the Industry Decarbonisation Lead will:
- Ensure all external outputs are factually correct, credible and in line with our point of view.
- Develop processes and materials that increase technical understanding and consistency across team members and amongst those we communicate most closely with (eg allies, core media).
- Ensure robust processes are in place for fact-checking.
- Lead the development of our series of SteelWatch Explainers to present key concepts in accessible form among allies and industry.
- Support the Communications and Campaign teams to assess what reactive news to prioritise, and to respond quickly and accurately.
- Strengthen our ability to brief and correct journalists, dealing with their misunderstandings around iron and steel.
4. Act as spokesperson for SteelWatch in industry dialogue.
SteelWatch is vigilant and challenging to the steel industry. Our tone of voice varies from the creative campaigns, to the engaged dialogue. The Industry Decarbonisation Lead is expected to communicate externally and directly in dialogue, in writing and especially with the industry stakeholders at conferences, in private meetings or via social media. The lead is not the only voice of the organisation, but should be a focal point in building consistency. They will:
- Attend industry events and discussions, representing SW point of view and strengthening our industry connections;
- Speak at industry events, speak to the media where appropriate.
- Produce high quality written materials, support those written by colleagues, and support high quality data visualisation that communicates our messages.
- Engage actively on LinkedIn (and/or other social media) to respond to industry commentary and engage as SteelWatch.
5. Build relations with industry
SteelWatch is building relations with industry actors, both to share our views and ensure we are up to date on latest trends. The Lead will:
- Through industry events, networks and dialogue, strengthening our industry connections;
- Build relations with industry to acquire up to date information, and increase our ability to sense-check news and respond to trends.
- Keep abreast of industry conversations in order to identify the most relevant shifts, key topics or opportunities for SteelWatch to create pressure for change.
- Support others in SteelWatch to engage with industry, particularly in other regions and languages than your own.
6. Provide line management and task management to team members engaged in data and analysis.
SteelWatch currently has a mixture of long-term and short-term or part-time staff and consultants working on data, tracking and analysis. They are managed by different team members. The Industry Decarbonisation Lead will:
- Set objectives and define tasks for the data team, in line with overall SteelWatch strategy and plans, as they evolve. Provide line management for core data team members.
- Manage consultants focused on data or analysis, adapting TORs and finding new consultants as needed;
- Ensure synergy across the various team members and their work.
Essential skills and experience
- Ten or more years of experience in industry, energy, and/or decarbonisation, of which at least 2 years focused on the steel industry.
- In-depth knowledge of steel decarbonisation pathways, current trends, the challenges and opportunities.
- Proven ability to manage and interpret data, and to use data for powerful arguments.
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English, a talent for conveying complex ideas in understandable ways.
- Proven capacity to build collaboration with non-technical colleagues and enhance organisational capacity to use data and evidence.
Desired skills and experience
- Experience working across a range of topics, projects and tasks, juggling short-term deadlines and long-term priorities.
- We are particularly interested in candidates that bring deep expertise in the energy transition, and/or in financial analysis of companies' approach to decarbonisation, as these would complement existing skills.
- Knowledge of steel decarbonisation across different geographies, particularly including countries of Asia.
- Experience in climate and/or campaigning organisations (professional or voluntary)

- An affinity with the messaging and campaign approach of SteelWatch. You do not have to have campaign experience or act as a campaigner, but you must agree with the level of transformation that we believe is required, and be excited to contribute your skills to an organisation that critiques the limited ambition of current industry players.
Language requirements
- Ability to work in English at a professional level is a requirement. Additional skills in European or Asian languages are useful, particularly Mandarin, Portuguese or German.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Country location
This role is open to candidates working in timezones UTC -1 to UTC +4 and in countries in which it is possible to have a 2-year fixed term employment contract with an Employer of Record. Within Europe, we welcome applications from candidates based in the Netherlands, UK and Germany, and in addition we welcome applications from candidates in Africa or the Middle East.
Location and remote working and travel
- Location: work location is remote from your home base. Staff members work remotely and online on a daily basis.
- Travel is an essential part of the role. If you are constrained in your ability or permissions to travel, please discuss this before investing in an application.
- Travel to an annual full team retreat is essential - this happens once a year and may be in Asia, Europe or other. Additional travel for events and face to face time is expected. This may be in Europe, Asia, or elsewhere and likely to be 2-5 times a year.
- While we offer flexibility for you to work away from home base, this will need to be coordinated with travel of other colleagues, may depend on timezone changes and/or be limited by legal contracting constraints.
Working conditions and benefits
- Working hours are flexible. Whichever time zone you are in, you will need to have flexibility to work early or late across different time zones straddling Asia/Pacific/ Europe&Africa /UK. You also have the opportunity to build in some flexibility around your own non-work commitments.
- This role is full time, 5 days/week. We may also consider 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday) but would require flexibility around this. If you prefer part time please indicate this at time of application.
- The initial contract period will be up to 24 months with a possibility to renew, depending on country regulations. The type of contract will depend on the location.
- You must have a valid work permit in the country where you plan to be employed. SteelWatch is not in a position to support a visa process.
- Remuneration is according to SteelWatch norms, level of experience and location of employment. For a technical expert in this Lead role, a Netherlands-based salary is in the range of €72,000 - 92,000. Salaries are adjusted by location.

Overview
High energy costs are a nightmare for millions of UK households, while huge profits are made at our expense. Poor housing and heating systems are a key part of the problem, along with dependence on polluting, climate-changing fossil fuels. FPA is a campaigning organisation that sets out to attack the root causes of fuel poverty along with the specific injustices facing people and communities. We want to see the UK’s energy system decarbonised as rapidly as possible, with a just transition for communities and workers.that includes affordability.
Working closely with pensioners groups, trades unions, disabled campaigners, tenants’ organisations and others on the frontline of fuel poverty, we’re using protest and direct action to fight for real, sustainable solutions to the cold homes crisis. We are looking for a committed senior organiser, who shares our passion and values, to bring energy and imagination to developing our base and supporting our members to build their power.
About the role
Fuel Poverty Action (FPA) was started in 2011 by climate activists who wanted to ensure that the green energy transition doesn’t happen at the expense of those with less social and economic power. Rather, they saw the break with fossil fuels as an opportunity to end the scourge of fuel poverty in the UK - a chance to rethink priorities and design inequality out of the energy system.
Immediately, they were drawn into community-based struggles for energy justice, against false, profit-driven solutions and maladministration of ‘green’ measures with no accountability to tenants and residents.
Over the years others joined the fight, growing FPA to a small membership-led organisation comprising people at the sharp end of fuel poverty - people of all ages and backgrounds, mainly located in London. Since 2022, funding has enabled us to employ a small, dispersed team who are accountable to directors and a membership that is now UK-wide.
We are now looking for an experienced, senior organiser to help FPA grow and evolve our membership network further. We want to reach more people and support members to be active within FPA so that we can build our political impact and remain meaningfully member-led.
We are seeking a flexible person with significant leadership experience who will be confident working as part of a small team, capable of outward facing work and internal management. You will have experience of organising in collective campaigns, including digitally, and a background in grassroots or community-based action, with a strong commitment to inclusive and anti-oppressive practice.
As the Organising Lead, you will join our Campaigns Lead and Operations Lead as the third pillar of our self-managing Coordination Team. While line-managing other colleagues and enabling the contributions of members who are unpaid, you will yourself be a member of FPA, and answerable to the group.
We use the digital platform Action Network to run campaigns and communicate with FPA supporters. Our ideal candidate would have the skills to incorporate ladders, tags and custom fields into our digital campaigns to maximise online to offline impact and convert list growth into membership. They would also actively maintain relationships with existing members who are not always confident with online communication tools.
There is a lot of scope to bring new ideas and perspectives to shape our work.

Compensation Policy
We’ll compensate team members on the following basis:

Why Access Social Care Exists
Every day millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, and none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us - we will all need social care at some point in our lives.
We all have a right to hold public bodies to account, but most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 92% drop in legal aid cases since 2010 means that we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.
What we do
Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it.
With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers provide access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded and we all get the support we need.
We provide rights awareness training to front line managers, and legal advice and support to families and individuals. As well as providing access to justice, our aim is to drive system level change through evidence-led influencing and strategic casework.

About the role
This role is pivotal to the growth and success of the charity. Its purpose is to support the Director of Partners and Engagement and fundraising team, and Head of Business Development, to lead the charity’s income generation. This includes activities in sourcing small, medium, and major (up to six figures) grant opportunities from trusts, foundations, and institutional/government funders, and individual donors where appropriate. Where opportunity presents, the role holder may also support the business development function. This could involve assisting in the development and implementation of new business growth opportunities to boost income generation. The role will involve project and core-cost fundraising.
Responsibilities
· Work with the Director of Partners and Engagement and the fundraising team to maintain existing funds; research new income streams and prepare and submit business cases; and source new funding opportunities for Access Social Care’s projects and core-cost needs.
· Participate in planning and strategy meetings. Work with the Finance Director and other leaders to develop and implement annual fundraising/income generation plans, gift tables, and budgets to achieve income targets.
· Monitor income targets and provide regular progress reports and updates on performance against target.
· Create and implement cultivation plans for high-value donors. Build and maintain long-term relationships with trusts and foundations, individual donors, and other income-generation partnerships through meetings and the production of detailed reports and presentations to generate repeat donations and renew income streams.
· Lead on funding bid applications and reports including working with senior colleagues across the organisation to draft warm and cold acquisition, and bespoke written applications.
· Build, monitor and manage a pipeline of prospective Trust & Foundation and Funder opportunities.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Regional Fundraiser to join our rewarding and growing team. This is an exciting role, which would suit someone looking to build and develop their relationship fundraising or broaden their sector experience in a major national charity.
From multi-year partnerships and supporters, right through to managing volunteers and raising awareness in our communities, the team you join is talented, fast-paced and on a mission to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. The successful candidate will be able to deliver first-class relationship and account management, maximising retention as well as driving opportunities to secure new income within South-West Wales (from prospecting through to pitch development and delivery).
Our team have a wealth of experience and skills to support you and being a team player is essential. Recruiting, managing, and appreciating the value of our supporters and volunteers is essential. You need to inspire and motivate them to develop lifelong support.
This is a homeworking role, and you will be required to regularly travel across South-West Wales to meet supporters and occasionally attend internal meetings at locations across the country including our flagship offices (London, Birmingham, Warrington and Belfast). You must reside in the UK and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK.
About You
- Experience in relationship and community fundraising or ability to demonstrate transferrable skills.
- Good understanding of budgeting and financial management
- Experience in identifying and acquiring new business opportunities.
- Experience in delivering excellent supporter stewardship and/or customer care.
- Able to analyse data and information to make decisions.
- Proven track record in achieving financial and non-financial targets.
- Ability to work remotely and independently and travel across an extensive patch.

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the team raising vital funds to provide this invaluable lifelong support for all stroke survivors, just like Leighton.
The Role
This is an exciting new role in a newly created team, formed to acquire strategic corporate partnerships and community connections. As Partnerships Officer for the North of England your main responsibilities will include:
- Developing a robust pipeline of future support focussing on high value relationships.
- Delivering engagement strategies and products to enhance the conversion rate of your pipeline.
- Developing and delivering a relationship stewardship plan for all corporate partners.
- Delivering an individual income target.
- Tracking and monitoring income and pipeline values to support with forecasting and budgeting.
The Person
We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic person with excellent communication and relationship building skills. You should be excited by the prospect of building a new pipeline and portfolio of corporate partners and be confident stewarding relationships in this space.
You must be able to work flexibly to maximise opportunities across the North of England, and have the initiative and ability to work with autonomy. Previous experience in fundraising is desirable; however, we are also keen to speak with people who also have the knowledge and experience in building relationships and are keen to transfer this skillset into the rewarding world of fundraising!
