We have a strategic commitment to using effective, honest and straightforward communications to raise awareness and increase understanding of Pause and the experiences of the women we work with. The Communications Officer role is pivotal in delivering communications work for the national team and supporting Pause Practices where they need it as well.

As Communications Officer at Pause you will be responsible for delivering Pause’s communications activity. This ranges from producing the Pause podcast, supporting the delivery of the Pause People conference, delivering creative communications activity for our influencing work, maintaining excellent working relationships with key stakeholders and supporting women to be involved in local and national media pieces.

Your role will involve:

  • Developing and delivering communications products for Pause key messages and issues.
  • Supporting the delivery of Pause events, including conferences, workshops and stakeholder engagement.
  • Working with the media to raise awareness and increase understanding of Pause and women’s experiences.
  • Overseeing enquiries from the public, media and stakeholders, recommending responses and directing to colleagues as necessary.
  • Working with communications teams at Pause Practices and with funders to ensure all media activity is coordinated and consistent with the core principles of Pause.
  • Maintaining and developing the Pause website, intranet as well as maintaining and innovating with our social media platforms.
  • Managing the recording and storage of all content, generated materials and stakeholder engagement including logging permissions for usage.
  • Developing strong and engaging content, including infographics, on our social media and other digital platforms.
  • Working with the Getting Involved team and Practices on involving women in Pause communications.
