The Vacancy
We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator/Receptionist to join the Front of House team of the Methodist Church in Great Britain as we settle into newly refurbished offices in Central London. Working as part of a small Front of House and Facilities team, the post-holder will provide a professional, customer-focused reception and administrative service, helping to promote a sense of community in line with the Church’s mission and values.
Reporting to the Front of House Manager, the main duties will include:
· Providing a professional and helpful switchboard, meeting room support and reception service;
· Answering enquiries and directing colleagues and visitors using knowledge of the Church’s aims and structures;

· Supporting the running of the facilities function and helping to maintain the health and safety of everyone in the building.

- Manage the relationship with any external support companies for the relevant products and interconnected products and systems including accounting online, bank checking and deduping systems.
- Manage the data cleanliness, accessibility, availability and retention in accordance with our data governance and security policies particularly the information and data management framework. And develop and maintain automated processing of bulk data.
- Enshrine continuous improvement into the use and development of our Products.
Our use of Product Management comprises of all of our critical business systems (Finance, HR, Intranet, Microsoft end user applications).
Our Head of Product and Systems Management plays a crucial role in the development and delivery of our Product and Systems Management. This role is also responsible for defining and delivering the Product and Systems Management team’s strategy/roadmap and ensure they are delivered.

About us: Tender works with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Since 2003, Tender’s work has grown and diversified from a single workshop programme delivered to schools, into a broader range of programmes reaching both children and young people and professionals with a safeguarding responsibility such as teachers, youth workers, social care workers and foster carers. The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets to give them the best possible head start in life. We also provide personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society. Working with our staff, cadets, and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.
We are currently looking for an OTW Project Assistant who will support the delivery of the On The Water project at one of our boating stations in London. The project provides young people from outside Sea Cadets, age 9-14, the opportunity to get on the water, learn new skills and build confidence through boating activity. This is a very varied and rewarding role that requires someone who is self-motivated, inspiring, organised, creative, tenacious, positive, IT competent and with a real interest in people with a attention to detail and real enthusiasm for the project.
Project delivery takes place between 29 July 2024 and 30 August 2025 when the young people will be attending boating sessions. During this busy time the Project Assistant will be based at the boat station each day to complete registration, manage group change overs, track project targets, encourage survey completion and fill booking gaps. Prior to delivery the role will be focused on supporting the booking process and engaging in community outreach. Once delivery is complete, the Project Assistant role will then predominantly be supporting the evaluation and data collection as well as supporting participants to join their local Sea Cadet unit.
Key Responsibilities
- The welcoming and registration of participants for the On The Water project
- Collecting and uploading daily statistics and figures that show how the project is progressing
- Making new and repeat bookings
- Talking to participants and their parents/carers about the opportunities within Sea Cadets
- Managing a waiting list and reducing drop-outs
- Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of participants alongside the Boat Station staff
- Ensure that participants complete surveys to share their experience of the project and encourage adults to feedback on their young people’s experience
- Attend any meetings as required by the project
- Assist with the evaluation of the On The Water project

Big Green Heart is looking for a trainer to help expand our practitioner base. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with teaching experience to use their professional skills in the charity sector in the vitally important area of mental health. Accredited practitioners may charge for their own practice, working with individuals or in partnership with schools, churches, and community projects. They will practice under license from Big Green Heart.
The role of the trainer is to teach and train practitioners in the methodology of Big Green Heart and to bring individuals through to accreditation. This will be done regionally and online.
It is hoped that the trainer will continue to oversee the developing work of the practitioners in a mentoring role, either individually or in groups, whether in person or online. This will be an evolving role developed in partnership with the Founder/CEO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Office Management:
- Oversee daily office operations and maintain a professional, welcoming environment.

- Maintain records of office leases, utilities, and insurance policies.

About this key role

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes at HMP The Mount. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison based. Role Overview
The successful candidate will be involved in leading and co-ordinating the delivery of Crohn’s & Colitis UK’s research strategy including our programme of grants, and our work to support increased patient and public involvement in research. They will work with the Director of Services & Evidence and Head of Evidence & Research to support the charity’s involvement with external research bodies and contribute to the leadership, planning and delivery of cross-team projects, helping to influence and meet our strategic objectives.
About You
We are looking for someone who has proven experience of delivering successful research funding and patient and public involvement research activities. The successful candidate must be adept at establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders and comfortable working with operational performance metrics, and implementing strategies and objectives for the organisation. Ideally your background will be in health care or working in a medical charity and you’ll be educated to degree level or equivalent. Given this role will involve managing and providing leadership to the Research team, prior management experience would be an advantage. Whilst not essential, a knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis would be beneficial also.

Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be times when you will need to travel to events/conferences. You will be required to attend two Directorate days each year and occasional face-to-face meetings with your team or our partner agencies. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.
