Support Coordinator

We are looking for an innovative, passionate, and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Service based in Central Bedfordshire.

Position: S11170 Stroke Association Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Central Bedfordshire, however frequent travel will be required as part of this role (to include home visits, team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week

Salary: Circa £17,189 per annum (FTE circa £26,700 per annum)

Contract: Our services are contracted, we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2025.

The Role

Reporting to a Service Delivery Coach in the East of England, you will have the ability to support stroke survivors to identify their goals. Using strong assessment skills and a person-centred approach enabling them to maximise their recovery and improve communication.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Supporting new stroke survivors and their carers to adjust to life after stroke following hospital discharge into the community.

· Providing personalised information, advice and support.

· Enabling stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes.

· Working with other health and social care professionals across the stroke pathway to ensure high quality support.

About You

You will have experience in:

· Experience/ background of providing person centred support to people with a disability or long-term health condition and their carers.

· Excellent IT skills and an ability to maintain accurate records.

· An affinity with the values of the Stroke Association.

· A flexible approach and an ability to effectively manage a caseload.

Migrateful runs cookery classes led by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants who are on the journey to integration and gaining access to employment. Our cookery classes provide ideal conditions not just for learning English and building confidence, but also for promoting contact and cultural exchange with the wider community.

Since its establishment in 2017, Migrateful has made a profound impact on the lives of 92 cookery class teachers. Together, they have conducted over 3500 classes, sharing the rich tapestry of their cultures and cuisines with over 40,000 participants.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will support the Head of Chef Development in the organisation, recruitment, and facilitation of our Cookery Teacher Training Programme. You will also be responsible for developing, writing, and amending class documents for our cookery class experiences, including recipes, class plans, and allergen matrices.

Over time you will forge the skills to monitor classes and provide nuanced, effective feedback to Cookery Class Teachers to maintain and improve the quality of their teaching.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a warm, empathetic, and engaging individual with exceptional organisational and communication skills for the role of  Chef Training Coordinator at Migrateful. Chef Training

• Supporting the Head of Chef Development in the planning, organisation, recruitment and facilitation of the Migrateful Cookery Teacher Training Programme in London
• Supporting the Head of Chef Development inducting and managing Chef Training mentors

Chef Feedback

• Working with Chef Development and Operations Team to manage and distribute class feedback, update any changes to class documents and feedback to chefs
• Offering general support where needed to the Operations and Chef Development Team 
• Supporting with the development of the  Cookery Class Teacher journey
• Establish good working relationships with Cookery Class Teachers and facilitators 
• Scheduling and running Migrateful community events (socials and monthly chef drop-ins

Class Documents

• Leading on the development, writing and amendment of class documents (recipes, class plans, chef profiles, allergen matrices) 
• Ensure all recipes have accurate allergen information and menus have allergens matrix

This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Unpaid Carers across Lewisham to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.

The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers, completing statutory and holistic assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need. You will carry out home visits and community meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals.  

You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Unpaid Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Unpaid Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. Experience of working in mental health or dementia services would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

1) Overseeing Financial Management, Reporting, and Monitoring (60%):

• Manage the financial aspects of funded scholarship programmes, including budgeting, reporting, and monitoring spending.
• Prepare narrative and financial reports for donors, coordinating with UWC schools.
• Lead the process of collecting and analysing data on scholarship recipient students and refugee students across all UWC schools for donor reporting, brochures and publications.

• Implement a yearly offboarding survey with scholars, working closely with the Engagement Team.
• Support coordination between UWC schools and national committees during the selection process and pre-departure preparation.

3) Coordinating University Partnerships (10%):

• Coordinate partnerships with universities on behalf of UWC International, working closely with the Senior Adviser, UWC counsellors and EducationTeam.

4) Assisting the Philanthropy Team with Administration incl. Donation Services (20%):

• Manage donation management processes and support donor stewardship processes, including processing online donations through donation platforms and preparing donation acknowledgement letters for donors.
• Maintain data on Raisers’ Edge database and philanthropy dashboard, preparing management updates.
• Coordinate introductions for new philanthropy staff members at UWC schools.
• Oversee subscriptions to databases and respond to inquiries via email.

Person Specification

Experience and skills

• Financial Management and Reporting: Prior experience in financial management, budgeting, reporting, and monitoring, preferably in a nonprofit organisation or educational institution.
• Data Analysis: Experience in collecting, analysing, and presenting data for reporting purposes.

The Registration and Licensing team supports the adminstration and development of the professional registers. We work with the Science Council’s member organisations and a large number of volunteers who assess different parts of the registration process. In this role you will provide administrative support to the Volunteering and Community Networks Department and Head of Volunteering and Community Networks.

This is a key new role in the Grants, Community and Corporate Partnerships Unit to help maximise corporate and community partnership opportunities and help scale up this growing income stream for future years.  This locally based role will support current partnerships (including golf clubs, churches, schools and local corporates) as well as scoping new opportunities across Surrey. Representing Eikon in person at events, meetings, exhibitions as well event coordination are important components of this the role. Responsibilities

1. Account Management

• Day to day/ support account management of select corporate and community partnerships. This will be agreed with their manager per partnership (who will retain leadership), but could include:
  • General stewardship including thanking and recording information on our CRM database (Donorfy) and shared drives.
  • Representing the unit at local level events and/ or delivering marketing materials to community partners.
  • Regular communication including calls, meetings and sharing reports, presentations and other updates
• Being key relationship holder for select local corporate partnerships and community groups such as primary schools, churches, supermarkets, amateur sports clubs
• Database admin including checking opportunity pipelines and reporting requirements

2. Income generation

• Mapping (desktop research) of corporate and community opportunities across Surrey to support unit’s business development plans

• Event management and/ or support for events across the unit.

The YWF Youth Voice Coordinator Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to coordinate and lead YWF’s revamped youth engagement initiatives. Collaborating closely with our Youth Voice Consultant and the entire team, you will bring passion, creativity, professionalism and ambition to implement our youth voice plans. These plans are informed by a recent review and are supported by a theory of change.  Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in amplifying this work and the voices of young people involved with YWF through our social media platforms.

This position also provides avenues for professional growth and development. By directly overseeing interns engaged in YWF activities, you will gain valuable experience in staff development and play a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of youth leaders! The position:

You will manage our Volunteer team, requiring exceptional communication, a natural affinity for people management and organisation, and an ability to inspire people to get involved with our work. You will be responsible for the overarching strategy and success of the Volunteer Program.

Hours:

This is a temporary 12 month maternity cover, full-time position over Monday to Friday.

From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing. 

During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced to 30 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday, with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms for the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 37.5 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided. In the event that THL UK considers before the end of the trial period that the trial is having an adverse operational impact, we reserve the right to bring the trial to end on one month’s notice.

Who you are:

Volunteers will be your passion. You’ll have a deep understanding of the importance of this kind of supporter and how to best steward their specific experience and manage their unique needs. You'll understand how to best manage and recruit volunteers, mobilising our UK wide network effectively both remotely and on the ground in order to create change. You’ll know how to best communicate and engage with them in order to make the most out of their time and efforts. • Develop and manage all plans and overarching strategy for our Volunteer team, including volunteer stewardship, recruitment and grassroots activism on the ground, ensuring the day to day is delivered effectively by the team

• Work together with the Head of Programs to develop and guide THL UK Volunteer strategy and activities, identifying key priorities and strategies to further the program

• Be an active member of the Programs department Leadership team, working closely with other managers within programs and the Head of Programs to deliver department goals

• Be an active member of the wider Leadership team across the organisation, contributing to organisation level decisions and working to ensure effective strategic alignment, ensuring Volunteer work is communicated successfully and opportunities for collaboration maximised

• Analyse & report on the effectiveness of activities delivered by the team, including timely goal reporting, feeding into funding proposals and more

• Observe and work with other organisations to learn new approaches and share/coordinate strategies, making connections with other organisations as required

Volunteering

• Lead our volunteer program to ensure our volunteers take action with us and remain engaged

• Ensure the Volunteer team organise effective and engaging actions and opportunities for our volunteers which contribute to our campaigns, working particularly closely with the Campaigns team

• Determine overarching training strategy, recruitment and internal processes for the volunteer program as a whole, with supporter experience at the heart

• Oversee our volunteering policies and procedures and their successful implementation, including regular reviews

• Ensure volunteering remains at the heart of what we do, you identify a diverse range of opportunities for our volunteers to get involved with across the entire organisation which ultimately contribute to campaign success, and high satisfaction amongst the volunteers themselves

In addition:

• Attend conferences, events, protests and actions as required

• Participate in team meetings including leading, note-taking and facilitation.

• Attend in-person workshops several times a year.

• Help us make THL UK an inclusive workplace where employees and supporters are proud to be members of the movement

• Demonstrate commitment to creating a stronger and more effective animal protection movement through inclusion and belonging, recognising the need for all of us to do better for social justice on a personal and organisational level.

Betknowmore UK is proud to introduce 'Your Voice Matters,' our latest project aimed at addressing the unique challenges of gambling harms within London's Black community. With a focus on removing barriers and reducing stigma surrounding seeking support, our strategy empowers individuals, communities, and faith leaders.

We are looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to join our team and lead the implementation of 'Your Voice Matters.' Collaborating closely with our Director of Support Services and fellow Betknowmore colleagues, you will oversee the delivery of workshops, facilitate focus groups, and participate in community engagement events. Supported by our partnership with The Faiths Forum for London, you will play a pivotal role in fostering relationships within the Black community to maximize the project's impact over the next two years.

This position is primarily home-based, with regular travel across Greater London as required. The role is full-time, offering a competitive salary between £33,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include a pension scheme and generous work/life balance. This is a fixed-term appointment for a period of two years, subject to satisfactory role performance.

Essential Skills & Knowledge
