As Head of Social Enterprise, you will:

Provide proactive support to the Chief Executive Officer on strategy and operations. Offering clear advice to the CEO and Board of Trustees.

Lead and manage the Marketing, and Commercial teams, ensuring their work aligns with our strategic goals and values.

Play a pivotal role in the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to organisational strategy and innovation.

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation was founded in 2009 after Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend were attacked because of their alternative appearance. Sophie later died from her injuries. The Foundation was created by Sophie’s mother Sylvia to address prejudice against alternative subcultures and to promote understanding and tolerance through education, advocacy and policy work.

Although a small organisation, we have big impact and reach. We advocate for the alternative community through policy and campaigning work and provide support following hate crime. And we also run workshops aimed at reducing discrimination and challenging stereotypes. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Fundraiser to help secure the charity’s financial stability and support its growth.

The role involves creating a fundraising function from the bottom up and then developing and implementing a fundraising strategy. Diverse income streams to be targeted include corporate partnerships, individual donors, grants and foundations, events and digital campaigns. You’ll work closely with the team, CEO and Trustees to ensure fundraising activities align with our clear objectives.

Responsible for creating and delivering a fundraising plan that meets income targets, you’ll identify funding opportunities that align with our mission. This includes researching grants, preparing applications, managing funder relationships and reporting. Building donor engagement through regular giving, legacy programmes and other initiatives will also be part of the role.

Maintaining accurate, GDPR-compliant records of fundraising activities and donor data is essential. You’ll also prepare reports for internal use and external stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone with proven fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector who has a track record of securing income from grants, donors, events or corporate partnerships. Strong written communication skills and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines are important. You’ll relish involvement at every level, whether it be leading meetings with high value funders or thanking supporters for their incredible achievements. What the job involves

We’re looking for a Peer Support Senior Officer (Online Community) to join our team and help us provide high-quality support to men and their loved ones navigating prostate cancer.

The Peer Support team plays a vital role in connecting men and their loved ones to others with lived experience of prostate cancer. We do this through our One-to-One Peer Support service which matches anyone affected by prostate cancer to our trained volunteers with a similar experience and more recently our Online Community, a website-based discussion forum that provides a space for men and their loved ones to share their experiences and find support.

As a Peer Support Senior Officer (Online Community), you’ll focus on assisting the Peer Support Manager with the development and integration of our Online Community into our wider support services. Once up and running, you’ll take the lead on the day-to-day management and moderation of the community. You’ll work closely with users to understand what they need from the platform, and you’ll be key in shaping it into a safe, welcoming and supportive space where people affected by prostate cancer can connect.

You’ll also develop policies and guidelines to ensure safe and respectful interactions, recruit and support volunteer moderators, and work with other teams to share helpful news, resources and health information on the forum. You’ll use analytics and user feedback to improve the platform and support its growth, while staying informed about best practice and emerging trends in online communities.

While the strong focus of this role will be the Online Community, you’ll also help deliver our One-to-One Peer Support service, triaging enquiries, matching service users with trained peer volunteers who’ve experienced prostate cancer and help with volunteer onboarding and coordination. 

What we want from you

We’re looking for someone with experience managing an online community or similar digital support service. You’ll be comfortable providing information and support to people who may be facing difficult or emotional circumstances, and you’ll understand the importance of creating a safe and inclusive space for users to connect and share.

You’ll bring a good understanding of digital engagement, knowing how to encourage community growth and participation, and you’ll be comfortable using data and insights to guide improvements. You’ll also have experience collecting and monitoring service data to help shape decisions and measure impact.

Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential. You’ll know how to engage sensitively with people who have lived experience, making sure their voices are reflected in how services are developed and delivered. You’ll also be able to work collaboratively across teams, building relationships with internal colleagues and external partners, and supporting cross-functional projects.

You’ll need to be organised and able to manage a varied workload. A flexible, responsive approach is key, and experience supporting or supervising volunteers would be a plus.

While you don’t need to be a clinical expert, a basic understanding of cancer care in the UK, and an awareness of how inequalities can affect access to health and support services, will help you approach the role with the insight and sensitivity it requires.

About the role

The Senior Digital Campaign Officer will play a key role in our work to end homelessness in Scotland – designing creative ways to engage the public with our latest campaign around the next election, using digital channels, including our website, social channels and email.

You will lead the creation of supporter journeys to mobilise people across Scotland; turning public awareness and interest in homelessness into meaningful actions that lead to change. You’ll work with others to make sure our campaigns are joined up with our digital, data, technology and marketing teams, and to make sure that our digital campaigns have a direct impact on the policies and practices needed to end homelessness.

About you

1. Experience of developing digital influencing strategies that result in significant increases in the volume of new supporters and deepened involvement for existing supporters.

1. Excellent technical knowledge and experience of digital tools and channels, particularly Engaging Networks and Adestra.
2. Ability to think creatively, develop and test digital tools which strengthen campaigning successes.
3. Strong communication skills including the ability to write campaigning materials for supporters e.g. website pages, social media posts, campaign emails, campaign actions, blogs.
4. Ability to collaborate with people from different teams to achieve goals.
5. Excellent project management skills.

We have an amazing opportunity to join the Community Foundation as Social Value Specialist on a permanent basis. You'll be based in one of our offices across SNG's operating area, ideally Wembley or Bristol as there will be a big focus on working with our London and Bristol based suppliers and community partners. You'll combine both home and office working to ensure a positive work/life balance. This role involves travel to other offices and events which will require some flexibility and ideally access to a car.

The Role

The Social Value Specialist will support SNG to embed impact measurement and social value into teams across the organisation, providing a central, efficient point of contact that leads on developing systems, processes and continuous service improvement.

You will engage with supply chain partners to ensure the delivery of social value in contracts and enable seamless customer service using digital platforms and relationships with community partners.

Connect with team members across the organisation to deliver impact reports and support in creating our annual ESG report.

The Social Value Specialist will report to the Social Value Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan and implement a community investment evaluation and monitoring framework, in direct alignment with the community foundation strategy and strategy and the corporate plan
• Work collaboratively across the multi-disciplinary community investment directorate and with other internal teams in the customer directorate across localities to embed a framework for social impact and outcomes recording
• Support the Social Value Manager to provide regular social impact and environmental social, governance (ESG) reporting to the communities' leadership team and to senior management and board when required
• Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation methods and processes for Community Foundation projects and roll out good practice to colleagues and external partners so we can effectively demonstrate our Social Impact
• Lead and support internal teams and external partners in the upload of data such as KPIs onto impact measurement platform for the business, ensuring that information is accurate and easily accessible when required
• Demonstrate strong project management skills to lead and oversee project teams across SNG and with external partners that will bring in external funding
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders, including funders, businesses, local authorities and national agencies as required by the Head of Service and managers
• Work closely with the communications team to enable a coordinated communications approach that raises the profile of SNG's work in communities
• Prepare and present written, financial and statistical reports to internal and external bodies as required and ensure funders requirements are met
• Demonstrate everyone safe and well everywhere, every day by making health and safety a primary consideration in your decision making

 What we need from you

A good understanding of HACT's Wellbeing Valuation and Social Value Insight would be an advantage, but this is not essential. It would be great if you have some knowledge or experience of working in communities, supply chains and or, monitoring and evaluation.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisation and customer service
• Proactive and proven Stakeholder management skills with colleagues and external partners
• Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methods and techniques, including Theory of Change and Logic Models
• Ability to validate and impact assess, to escalate data issues as required
• Ability to inspire and activate, fostering great partnerships with suppliers to ensure social value is secured and delivered through our supply chain
• An understanding of social value in relation to the construction industry
• Storytelling skills to share social value activity and support others in understanding the impact of the Community Foundation

We’re looking for a Policy and Research Intern to join our Policy and Influence team for nine months. This is a unique chance to take your first step on the policy career ladder – no prior policy experience required.

In this role, you’ll be right at the centre of our work with senior nursing and midwifery leaders. Yes, you’ll support the team with essential admin and communications, but this internship is about so much more than that. You’ll help deliver high-profile events like webinars and roundtables, track and report on member benefits, and contribute to live policy and research projects that shape the future of the NHS and wider system.

We don’t expect you to arrive knowing it all. What matters is your enthusiasm for FNF’s mission, your willingness to learn, and your drive to get stuck in. In return, you’ll gain hands-on experience, work alongside senior stakeholders, and build the skills and confidence to take the next step in your career.
