About this role

SPANA’s Global Resources team supports SPANA’s mission to transform the welfare of working animals, including providing efficient and effective HR delivery across the organisation. This role will report to SPANA’s Global People & EDI Manager.

We are seeking a People Officer to support processes and systems across the employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on ensuring high quality and efficient recruitment. The People Officer will also play a key role in continuing the roll out of SPANA’s HR platform, Moorepay, which was introduced earlier this year.

Contract, location and salary

This is a full-time (34.5 hours per week), fixed-term, six-month contract role with the possibility of extension. This role is UK based, hybrid working with regular attendance (approximately 1-2 days per month, or more if preferred) in our London office. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK currently and for the duration of the contract. 

The salary for this position is c.£34,000 per annum, subject to skills and experience. SPANA is pleased to offer a range of benefits including a generous company pension scheme with 10% employer contribution if the employee contributes a minimum 5%, and health care cash plan.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

As Clerk to the Board of Governors

Provide procedural, regulatory, and governance advice to the Board of Governors. Responsibilities include:

• provide administrative support to the governing body, for example: co-ordinating calendar of dates for governing body meetings and preparing agendas, taking notes at meetings for the preparation of minutes and ensuring that all decisions are recorded accurately and objectively, including timescales for actions

• Support the implementation and effective use of New Governance Software and lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings. Update and maintain a database of Governance information, ensuring secure handling of confidential data and information in compliance with College Policy and the General Data Protection Regulations.

• support the development and performance of governors in their role, for example: updating them on changes in legislation and policy, informing them of appropriate training and helping them understand their duties

• offer advice to governors and the college on the correct governance procedures and how to improve governance

• Work with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to ensure a high level of governor engagement by ensuring an up-to-date calendar of opportunities, appropriate communications and effective tracking and gathering of feedback

As Governance and Performance Manager

• Support the College’s internal governance function, providing administrative support in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and taking notes/minutes. Lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings and in systems and Processes to improve efficiency.

• Work with the Executive Leadership Team and wider leadership team to co-ordinate regular strategy updates and report on progress against strategic goals and agreed KPIs.

• Input into, and support with the co-ordination of the College’s Wider Leadership Forum and All-Staff sessions.

• Update and Maintain the College’s Risk Register and Master Policy Schedule.

• Assist with co-ordinating internal audit reviews in accordance with approved internal audit plan.

• Receive and co-ordinate timely responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

• Be a collaborative, enthusiastic member of the College’s wider leadership team, working closely with Staff and Governors to help deliver our ambitious strategy.

As Marketing Executive - Supporter Journeys, you will be responsible for the delivery of supporter journey activity, planning and executing individual and church supporter journey activities across various channels, including direct mail, telephone, and digital.

Do you have the following experience?

• Delivering marketing/supporter engagement campaigns across multiple channels including direct mail, email and telephone.
• Knowledge of CRM systems and how to use data to design and monitor performance
• Project managing efficiently and communicating clearly with multiple stakeholders
• Monitoring and evaluating campaigns and adopting a test and learn approach

Do you have the following skills?

• Ability to see through projects from start to finish
• A flexible approach to your work, showing agility to adapt and make changes if required
• Highly collaborative
• Ability to influence and work alongside senior stakeholders
• Strategic thinking, and desire to drive forward new ways of doing things.

Hybrid working: This role is eligible for hybrid working and you will be required to work from  Teddington's Tearfund office and from your home by agreement with the line manager. This currently means around 2 days per month working from the Teddington office, with the rest worked from home.

This a full time role 35 hours per week, flexible working patterns may be considered.

Contract Type:  This is a 12 month fixed-term, part time role working 21 hours per week. The full time salary is £30,224 per annum. The part time salary is £18,134 per annum. The working pattern will be agreed with the line manager.

As our Corporate Partnerships Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Single Homeless Project’s (SHP) partnerships with businesses across London and beyond. You will lead a talented and driven team, inspiring them to deliver exceptional results as you grow a programme that already engages thousands of corporate employees each year. Through strategic relationship building, creative collaboration, and authentic storytelling, you will connect the values and ambitions of our partners with SHP’s mission to end homelessness in London - turning corporate energy into lasting social change.

Working at the heart of SHP’s Fundraising team, you will lead the development of innovative partnerships that raise vital income, expand our volunteering offer, and create meaningful opportunities for businesses to engage with our work. You will nurture relationships with existing partners, while securing exciting new collaborations that deliver mutual value and deepen their commitment to our cause. From six-figure fundraising initiatives to dynamic corporate events, your creativity and strategic vision will ensure every partnership reaches its full potential and has a measurable impact on our clients’ lives.
