About the Role
This is an exciting and varied opportunity to join Arthritis Action at a pivotal time as we deliver our 2024–2026 strategy. As our Engagement and Events Co-ordinator (Midlands), you’ll play a key role in expanding our reach and impact across the region, ensuring more people have access to our support, resources, and information.
You'll engage with a wide range of communities and professionals and support the delivery of online groups and outreach projects. From working with underrepresented communities to helping us connect with younger adults living with arthritis, this role offers scope to make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
Community Outreach & Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, healthcare professionals, and community leaders.
- Organise and deliver presentations and outreach activities to promote Arthritis Action's services.
- Actively support the delivery of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy by engaging with diverse and underrepresented communities across the Midlands, including ethnic minority groups and people in low-income areas.
Online Groups & Events
- Facilitate and support Online Arthritis Action Groups and Self-Management Events, including managing group logistics, promotion, and administration.
- Identify and coordinate guest speakers for group sessions.
- Gather and report feedback to improve service delivery.
- Ensure confidentiality and safeguarding policies are upheld.
Networking & Relationship Building
- Identify and pursue new networking opportunities with community, healthcare, and voluntary sector partners.
- Represent Arthritis Action at regional and national events.
- Support collaboration across projects and teams to maximise impact.
General Duties
- Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure effective promotion of groups and events via social media and the website.
- Maintain up-to-date records, including inputting data into the organisation’s database (eTapestry).
- Attend and contribute to the internal Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group.

Location & Travel
This is a home-based role located within the Midlands region. The post requires frequent travel throughout the Midlands, and candidates must have access to their own vehicle. Monthly travel to our London office is required. All reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

About the role:

The Deputy Director leads the strategic development and transformation of Family Action services across the Central region, and implements the organisation’s strategic plan and its 5 key objectives. The role has responsibility for service delivery, risk management, performance, quality and practice, safeguarding, income generation and budgets across the region. The post holder drives accountable leadership, innovation, co-creation, and continuous improvement across all the Central region. The Deputy Director will be an excellent communicator, highly resilient, and a decision maker, while always championing Family Action’s values in delivering inclusive, outcome-focused support for children, families, young people and adults.
Main Responsibilities:
· Be accountable for service delivery across the region, contractual performance, safeguarding, quality assurance, risk management, ensuring services meet regulatory standards, delivering positive outcomes and embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in everything we do.
· Lead senior stakeholder engagement and foster strong cross-sector partnerships across the geographic area.
· Line manage Operational Managers, and an Assistant Director, oversee budgets to ensure efficient, cost-effective service delivery. Champion the sharing of learning, development of staff and volunteers and best practice across services to support continuous improvement and innovation.
· Strategic and accountable leadership, leading the region by motivating and galvanizing the team to achieve innovation, growth and quality services maximising outcomes for the people we support
· Working alongside the Business Development & Corporate and Marketing team, drive the region’s income generation through generating and responding to new opportunities, and by leading innovative service design and modelling.
· Be part of a dynamic and supportive team of other regional and national Deputy Directors, sharing and influencing cross-organisational decision making, resource allocation, strategy and organizational development and leadership.

About the role
We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Manager with great personality and team ethic to join our Regional Fundraising team.
This is a role of variety, opportunity and innovation, and we are looking for someone who embraces change and constantly strives to achieve more.
You will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver a legendary experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates.
Bristol and Somerset is an area filled with some of our most committed supporters but there is still so much opportunity to grow corporate support across the counties. Our Social Workers support families from Bristol hospitals, so building relationships with these teams are a must.

We’re looking for a support worker who will:

Support the Wales Mission Team in their ongoing mission to pioneer and create opportunities for children and young people, who are found in the 95% of those outside the church, to explore the Bible, respond to Jesus, grow in faith, and become sharers of the good news of Jesus for themselves. Our priority is to reach those who don’t yet know Jesus by helping them to connect, explore, respond, and grow.

Work with the National Mission Co-ordinator (Wales) and the team in the National Office to develop a wider provision for mission resources, communication and marketing materials in the Welsh language.

Administrative Support: provide administrative support to the Wales team with regard to arranging meetings, note taking, event bookings, internal communication and database support.

We are now seeking to significantly grow our donor base and fundraised income and therefore are looking to recruit to this new role. We are seeking someone who can support the Director of Philanthropy and Communications to deliver our strategy to increase income through the recruitment of new donors and enable and deliver work with our current funders (primarily individuals and trusts). You’ll be the person to ensure they have an amazing experience as supporters of Now Teach.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Role overview
This role will be varied and offer lots of opportunities to get stuck into managing relationships with high value donors. Both the CEO, and the Director of Fundraising and Communications will work to steward the relationships with our donors in person, while this role will lead on delivering high-quality preparation, proposals, reporting, and data management that underpin donor relationships. You will also contribute to building connections across teams and aligning fundraising activities with Now Teach’s wider strategy.
You’ll deliver exciting and engaging communications and events which inspire our donors to continue to support our cause, as well as be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reporting so we can give supporters a great sense of the impact their donations make. This role will work on a combination of externally facing and internal projects and tasks and will be a great way to advance your career in fundraising.
In this role you will…

Create and maintain a stewardship calendar of content, reports, and events to engage our donors, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.

Write and produce proposals and applications for funding from major donors and trusts, in collaboration with programme and recruitment teams, championing user-centred thinking by representing participant and school impact in fundraising materials.

Write and produce reports with in-depth detail of what we have achieved as a result of the funding from our donors

Create an engaging termly supporter newsletter, sharing insights across the organisation to drive stronger engagement.

Manage and own the fundraising database, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and supporting colleagues to use data effectively.

Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting of gifts

Ensure compliance with fundraising legislation, charity law and data protection legislation like GDPR

Who you are (qualities/values)
We are looking for someone who is passionate about raising crucial funds to ensure that Now Teachers, schools, partners, and the wider education system can realise the full potential of career changers in education.
You'll have an eye for detail and be able to deliver written communications to the highest standard, including working with our communications teams to develop and deliver engaging case studies and proposals for support. You’ll be happy working to deadlines, and spotting and responding creatively to opportunities that arise. You’ll be able to build strong external and internal relationships and enjoy the challenge of raising money to support our amazing work.

Some experience of working in charities, ideally in education, and/ or in fundraising

Working arrangements
Full time/part time role, flexible working patterns possible. Now Teach are supported to work flexibly at co-working spaces or at home as needed with monthly working days in London. You will be required to cover your own travel expenses to London.

1. Generate income from small grants from trusts and foundations for specific projects and activities over the short to medium term.
2. Assist the CEO in the preparation of strategic grant applications for work across the UK, with an initial focus on England, Scotland and Wales to deliver key priorities of our Strategic Plan over the longer term.
3. Development of potential corporate partnerships and collaborations.
